Hello everyone.
I have not seen this issue discussed but hope that someone may have an answer.
Every now and then I will have the Fullscreen symbol (chevron) "stuck" in my taskbar/launcher when I'm offline. The odder thing is, is when I then go online and surf/download something the symbol is not there. So it's basically reversed. The only "fix" is to reboot.
Any ideas?
Cyanogenmod, nightly 221 at the moment (though I have tried several newer).
As a side note, this has also happened on my HP Touchpad w/ Cyanogenmod.
dl icon...
Its not a download icon. Its a soft button to hide the status bar
Sorry, but it's not. It normally displays when I open an IP camera, browser, etc.
For whatever reason it reverses itself at times.
Tapping it does nothing as it's not a button.
Edit:
Funny. I took a screen shot while it was on the screen, and it doesn't show up in the picture. All other icons/symbols show. LOL. Wth? I'll take a pic later and post it.
Edit: I re-read your post now. Picture attached with 7.1 download icon on the right, and what I assume is your icon you are talking about on the left. Is that correct?
No, that's not it. I get that one when downloading from the Market, etc. Thanks for the effort though.
Here is a pic of it. It's the far right lower (Chevron) one. Like two inverted arrows. Known as a "Chevron" as it looks like Chevrons (gasoline) logo.
It's got to be something to do with being online, browsing, etc.
Ahhh the mystery of it all.
It's no mystery. I thought that was it (I'm just using a different CM7 bar than you).
Go to Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Tablet Tweaks > Choose soft-buttons and tell me what you have selected.
Home, Menu, Back, Quick Notifications. That's it.
Only thing I can think of is the Fullscreen/Hide Status bar button. Comeone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm still sure that is what it is.
If you open an application that requests full screen (like Netflix or Angry Birds) and press it, does it hide the status bar?

I opened my IP camera app and pressed the icon, and yes, the status bar disappeared (how do I get it back?). But why is the icon showing when I'm not using any app? ie: like it is now.
So now when I open my IP camera app there's no status bar. I don't see a way to get it back. Probably something simple, but I can't find it.
~~
Confirmed that although "Home" is set to restore the Status Bar, it does not. Tried Volume Up, etc. to no avail. Something's buggy. Only a reboot restores things.
Also. Disable Full Screen is checked.
Yeah, looks like the hide bar to me too.
The field under;
Settings -> CM Settings -> Tablet Tweaks -> (Interface) Choose Unhide Button
Is supposed to allow you to pick a button to show the statusbar again.
--Edit--
Just saw your edit, yeah, I have mixed success with the unhide button too.
Not all applications request full screen if I'm right.
Settings > CyanogenMod Settings > Tablet Tweaks > Choose unhide button
Most people choose the N button to unhide, then press it again to go to home.
Well I hope this helps someone else. I just found this old post:
"I had the same problem. Went into the ADW Settings menu and scrolled to the bottom and "Reset ADW".
I reset and all is back to normal, AND the home key now brings back the Status Bar as it should! Yay!
I wish I could edit the thread title to "Fullscreen" symbol weirdness, but I can't.
Thanks for the effort guys.

Sorry if my edits messed up the timeline.
There was a bug that I fixed by resetting ADW. Phew.
Thanks again.
Hello all,
Was wondering if anyone is having the same issue as I am. My lock screen doesn't seem to actually lock the phone.. i.e. if you press an app without sliding it up, it just opens. The lock icon, however, is still displayed. My lock screen style is set to productivity, and that still all works, and I have no security set up. It's worth noting that it was working with no issues up until a day ago, and nothing has changed :/
For further clarification:
By not working, I mean that before I used to have to slide the tab up, or to launch an app I would have to drag it up, but now that doesn't work.
Here's a video showing what I mean:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bclXBQwqXa0&feature=youtu.be
This just started happening to my AT&T HTC One tonight! I found this post by doing a search to see if anyone else had experienced this same issue on their One.
Also I can no longer drag the icons at the bottom of my lockscreen up to get into that particular app. And pressing anywhere on the lockscreen seems to unlock the phone and take me to the desktop.
I'm using the "music lockscreen" style, fyi.

I just figured out what was causing it on mine... I actually received my Pebble smartwatch in the mail today and had installed the Pebble Android app onto my One. This also required going into the Settings on my One and enabling Accessibility for the Pebble and Pebble Notifier and these 2 accessibility settings were what was causing the lockscreen to behave this way.
Don't see anyway to get around it so far...

Wow aha actually I did install the pebble app just before it started happening.. I wonder if it's a problem on pebble's side or htc... good catch though!
Yeah, not sure of that either. I just wondered and posted about this myself in another XDA thread I found on this very same topic:

I have got this on my HTC one, I have come from an iphone and wanted to have the screen turn on when any emails are received. These show up on the lockscreen so when I'm driving if I get an email the screen turns on.
I can use several apps to do this but they all require to be enabled in Accessibility, if I do that the lockscreen unlocks when its touched anywhere as mentioned earlier without swiping. If I disable the accessibility setting its all back to normal but the app doesnt work....ie. the screen doesn't come on.
Any one figured this out yet?

I found a work around for it. It requires root access, Tasker and Secure Settings.
What I did was create a Context that is activated when the display is on and then using Secure Settings, disable all Accessibility for all events. As an exit task, I re-enable all my accessibility apps.
Now when i turn on my display, I actually have to slide to unlock.

Sound interesting, :good:

Under the profiles tab
Press the + icon in the botton right corner
Select State
Select Display
Select Display State
Change "Is Off" to "Is On"
Press the back button
You should have a popup of available Tasks (if you have any)
Select New Task +
[Optional] Give it a name
You need to do the following section as many times as you have Acessibility services
***********************************************
Press the + icon in the lower middle screen
Select Plugin
Select Secure Settings
Press the Edit button
Select Accessibility Services
Select a service, and make sure is disabled (by default it will be)
Press the save icon in the lower left
Press back
************************************************************
Repeat the previous section as needed
When you are done creating your task, press the back button
You should be back at your main profile screen.
Long press the green arrow of the task you just created
Select Add Exit Task
Repeat the *********** section but save the accessiblity services as "Is Off" for all your services.
Tasker has a bit of a learning curve, and hopefully this will get you started.

Efox29. That works very well.. Thanks again for the advice.
I've got this set up as well but for me it is extremely hit and miss. Nearly 50% of the time I still get the single touch unlock and the other half of the time tasker works perfectly. The only thing I can think of is that my pin unlock causes a problem but why only half the time.
Anyone else have this problem?
I suppose I should be happy my problem has been cut in half but I wish it was completely consistent.

It's not ideal but works ok, for me it's better than nothing.
M.
Actually having used this tasker solution for a few days now it works about 75% of the time and seems more reliable if the screen has been off for a while vs reactivating the screen very soon after turning off. Still sometimes I get the one touch unlock after the screen being locked for hours. On the whole the accessibility problem still really annoys me but I agree this solution is better than nothing and so far I haven't had any more accidental call answers.
Sent from my HTC One using xda-developers app
has anyone noticed that another issue with this accessibility bug is that the screen will flicker or flash black for a split second after unlocking? again, this only happens after you turn on accessibility for an app.

Nice app. Clean and simple ui.
Absolute silent and invisible blocking of calls and texts if set that way.
One question, is there going to be a way to temporarily disable blocking actions on a per contact basis ?

Yar no point in per contact. There will be a "Sweep only mode" added today instead, its more effective.
0.9.2.4-B11
Added "Sweep only mode" (use it to temporarily disable call blocking)
Added "Use contact colors" to Convo UI options
Changed sidebar widget behavior
Changed contact setting defaults (notifications mostly)
Added Debug logging option (please enable it if you have technical issues)
Changed lots of descriptions for clarity

Thanks and by the way can we have a UI option for the individual calls and texts log? So like the Conversation color toggle?
Just long press on one of the logs to give detailed breakdown for that contact

That's what i mean, but its not need long press. Just tap opens detail page!
I just mean so all colors in that details page would be the same color, like using the setting in the changelog.

Good question,
1. How about traffic lights ? Green active, red disabled, maybe a yellow for something
2. Could fade out the contact ?
3. Put a line through the contact, like its been crossed out ?
4. Add an additional comment per contact with a simple STATUS = x

Hi b3er, tiktok! i think were in agreement were going to use a toggle like in the standard wifi settings - just on off an no swipe to disable. That is too confusing. Ill work on a release for tonight.
PS were also going to leave the overall sweep only mode cause its still very useful (for me at least since i only keep my banks in PP).

Toggle, great idea - why didn't I think of that !
Also agreed the overall sweep is a useful option

BTW Still noticing that missed call notifications are not automatically being swept. Sweeping only occurs when accessing the phones call log. I'm using AOKP/AOSP. Can send logs if required

This should fix it:
0.9.2.4-B12
Fixed missed call handling in sweep mode on latest AOSP
Added individual sweep only toggle to Contacts view (beta, we will make it prettier later)
Fixed color rendering issues in Conversation view (hopefully, let us know please)
Fixed MMS scrolling issue on Sense 4
Reworked MMS renderer (bigger previews of small pics)

Thanks for the update.
Missed call handling now works.
Colour rendering in conversation view still buggy.
When adding new contact from phonebook:
1. individual sweep only toggle defaults back on ON for all existing contacts
2. If selecting 'delete contact from phone' during import the contact picture is not imported into app and is lost, even when then deleted and exported back to phonebook. Only tested once - don't want to lose other contacts pictures.

OK I see the contact pic issue. But dont understand 1... for me it works as it should.
About contact pictures. The error is in it not showing the picture after import. However it may be not possible to restore the picture at all (and some other meta links possibly).
In this app this is not that important. You shouldnt have to do a lot of import/export operations at all.

Its a small point, but if some of your existing contacts are set to toggle OFF and another contact is then imported the toggles turn to ON for all contacts.

Ah ok i see. This will be fixed today. I think we will try toi change the toggles as well... we think we should make thew individual toggles a setting, so people can remove them if they dont use them because that seems to be what the people wantr.
Err sorry about that... Ran into issues with the new parser. Update will come today instead.

Hi,
since kitkat (4.4.x) there is a notification for upcoming alarms 2 hours before the alarm time (a second alarm clock sign on the left top of screen)
I dont need this notification at all and its annoyin because this alarm sign looks almost like e.g. a whatsapp notification.
Is there a way to permanently disable this feature?
thx
nobody else annoyed or has an idea?

Hi,
Although many users found this new KitKat feature useful, I found it annoying: I don't need to have an Upcoming Alarm Notification to remind me that there's going to be a real alarm in the future. Fyi, I'm running CM11 20141124 Snapshot on a Galaxy S4. Here's the fix:
Next time you get one of these Notifications, go into Notifications and long press on the Upcoming Alarm entry (note that the long press might have been on "Dismiss now"). You will then get a prompt to disable notifications for this type of notification.
I'll appreciate if you will please reply with the exact long press location.
Also - If someone knows how/where this can be toggled back on, I would appreciate that info.
Regards . . .
BretAB
P.S. As noted elsewhere on the web, if you don't want to see the little alarm clock icon the you see on the right side of the Status Bar (recall that I'm running CM11 20141124), go into Clock, click on the hamburger that's on the lower right hand side, choose Settings, and disable Show Icon. This seems to override the "Show Notifications" that is enabled by default in Apps | All | Clock | "Show notifications" checkbox (or maybe that "Show notifications" checkbox at this location is for something else?) .
Hi and welcome to the board,
I'm a little confused with ur post. See my questions below the quotes of ur post here:

first of all, to understand ur post: is this a quote from somewhere else?
Second: disabling the notifications in the app settings works BUT it also disables the way to snooze or stop the alarm from lockscreen - so, not very helpfull/usefull?!

so thats actually the question of u?
answer: there are two ways to get there:
1)
unlock ur phone, (an alarm in the next 2 hours must be active) scroll down notification bar (wiping from top of phone to bottom) and long press on the alarm notification and choose "App-Details" in upcoming popup
2)
unlock ur phone, open the settings (the generall android settings), go to "apps", than the overview for "all apps", there should be "clock" or "deskclock" for me its "Uhr"
there u can disable amd enable it
so its also the answer to ur next question, i guess?! (see below)
Also - If someone knows how/where this can be toggled back on, I would appreciate that info.

I wish Google would allow the option to send a text message from the phones recent list it has redial and details they should put "message" there too. I only have the option to call the number back. It is frustrating. Also the ability to stop a download mid way. Are there anything else?
Long press on the download in the status bar then click on it and then hit the trash icon or go to downloads in app drawer and do the the same

And clear the recent apps with one touch, enable blacked out theming as an option, and double tap to wake and put the device to sleep
Clearing recents, they'll never do and with good reason. What they should do is allow us to limit how many apps are shown, like recently does.
