Skype apk?

Can anyone pull the Skype APK from Market, so that us non-VZW customers can try it out and see if it works? I hate that it is exclusive. And im not sure if its considered "warez" since it's a free app, but subject to carrier exclusivity. Can anyone shed light on that latter part?

I would but I cannot find it on the Market, even following the QR link...
IDK if it is because I am on 2.1 leak. But I am on verizon.

it appears only those with less than 2.1 can get this app

Has anyone tried to load the 2.1 APK?

Anyone want to post the skype apk so we can use it?

I am on the verizon network and I rooted my phone as well. I have used fring and nimbuzz which both work with skype but fring is clearer for whatever reason. Give them a try, both are free just requires registration.

VZW Skype
I just tried to get Skype on my rooted 2.1 and failed also. Stock 1.5 phone worked fine.

F.Y.I. verizon's integration into skype program wil not let you use skype for united states calling so if you wanted to cut out some of your minutes you cant. Try using fring or nimbuzz which integrate skype into them. Personally I use fring calls are clear.

There is a thread about this in the Themes / app section of the Eris board.... Skype will currently ONLY run on ERIS 1.5.... you CANNOT currently run the apk on a G1, even if its rooted... it will say "skype can only be used on Verizon Wireless Phones"
I'm on 2.1 V .5.5 with root and it still wont work... we gotta wait until another updated version is released

Skype works
I am running eris rooted with the sense-able 0.7 rom, and I was able to install and log in to skype with no problem. This is the apk that I used: http www(dot)4shared(dot)com/file/252567137/d3bd6726/comskypeandroidverizon.html

I guys. Just loaded OOVOO on my tab but it does not start up. Anyone else tried it?????

Well it looks like ooVoo Beta is out couldn't find it on the g-tab market tho had to sideload it but even then when I try to launch it doesn't open correctly. Anyone ideas whats going on with it?

I'm running VEGAn-Tab Build Beta 5.1.

it has been reported that this is running fine on CM7 Beta ROM.
Its not working for me on Vegan5.1.

I'm running the latest CM7 and oovoo is working without any fcs.

Thats lame i just downloaded vegan im not getting rid of it oovoo needs to work to get it more widely avaible

It runs but can't get it to connect. Video is also disabled. It will make the call but then hangs up before completing the connection.

I get same result running VeganTab Ginger Edition. Hope someone smarter than myself can get this up and running correctly on the G Tab.

video calling on O2X

i've tried different ROMs and different video calling apps, but they all seem to show to show my video upside down.. anyone else experienced this? is there any fix?

with the italian leaked gb it's working I tested last night

Really? couldn't even get gtalk video to work on CM7 with vorkkernel..

You need the right version, check in the apps forum for a thread by me.

Gtalk video works on Erestor's GB ROM

Video Calling also works in 2.2 android
video calling is working on android 2.2 with fring & yahoo messenger application

I sent an email to the developer & they told me, it's on beta & there will be new things soon, & they told me still I can download the .apk from their website, that's why I posted their site in my first post.
I tried & everything works fine, even faster than other supported phones that I've tried

New way of Video Chat

well it seems we have a way of getting video chat on our phones.

By using Vtok and the new gtalk from gapps it is possible.
Its based on gtalk and connects with your gmail account so no need for extra accounts!

that's the down side to video calling. its the app dev you need to talk to there...vtok is the same.
