Um hello I was just wondering if I could send songs through blootooth on my rooted HTC aria running Cyanogen 6.1 and I can't find an option to do that
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Probably through a file manager you will see the option, you will have to know where the sound file is on your sd card.
Just download GTunes music application from the market...free and you can download songs...it's pretty tits.
Edit: Obviously this isn't what you were asking for but it's a great alternative in my opinion...so yea, just giving you another option

Great app in the market that can make ringtones from our mp3's, very easy app to use!
Saw the application and really liked the user interface. Any program like this for WM? It would really make a good replacement for mp3 trimmer.
I have one in signature called mixx mobile, check it out...
I had tried using that app not to long ago and it didn't work for me. It wouldn't play any audio I tried importing and they were mp3's. Plus it locked up every minute so I gave up on it. Not going to purchase an app if it doesn't work.

I am aware of that. MP3 Trimmer is the program in HTC's Audio Manager. It is what I was looking to replace. Mixx Mobile looked pretty good, but failed to work properly. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Ok, I know the amazon mp3 store is currently only available to t-mobile US customers but is there a way to install this app to an unloacked htc magic? Is there a url that we can go thru with the browser and download & install directly..?
UPDATE: Found it here and this worked fine. Sorry guys, DEV's, if you want to delete this go right ahead unless you think it will help anyone get the amazon mp3 store app on their HTC magic. It worked for me and it puts your mp3 right on the sd card with albulm art which can be accesed thru the HTC music player. Pretty sweet!

So, using the CM6 RC1, it is not using the same music player that came with the phone, therefore the stock headphones' inline control buttons no longer work. Anyone know how I can install the stock music player?
I've always wondered why there were never any vanilla roms with the stock music player that comes on all the sense phones, considering that the mytouch with the 3.5mm jack has the same stock music player that comes with the slide. I would use CM6 if it had the stock music player from the slide.

Well I kinda messed that one up. Tried pushing the HtcMusic.apk/odex files from the CR OTA ROM, rebooted, and didn't find it, so I launched the apk from Linda File manager. The phone rebooted, and now all my apps on SD have double icons... ugh
Not sure if it will work because it says its for 2.1 but maybe worth a try.

There's a HTC music for 2.1 in the G1 section, give that a try. Pushing the one from cr will do you no good,it was not for froyo.

Well, it installed no problem, and launches no problem. Will have to wait until I get home to see if the headphone controls work. Thanks
Bah, it will play music, but gets FC's on various functions, primarily when trying to view the playlist.
Just wondering if there's a way to make ur phone play a specific sound when it locks
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
find, backup and replace the .ogg lock sound in the registry.
You can place your custom lock/unlock *.ogg files in system/media/audio/ui. [Download Root explorer from market or a file manager app to do this on your phone]
Backup your Original file and rename your custom sound file to Lock.ogg or Unlock.ogg.
Thanx now I just have to convert the file to file

Just thought I'd share my sounds. Files are already converted to OGG and I am currently using them. They sound awesome!
Also Audacity is an awesome tool to convert any audio file to OGG and its free. Google is your friend
P.S. If you play the files on the PC, they may appear to sound incomplete, however, they work perfectly on the phone once set.
Does it drain the. Battery fast

No, I doubt it drains battery considering it just replaces the original lock and unlock sounds. I've had no drain issues.
Sounds go in 'system/media/audio/ui/'

A different way of doing things is some lockscreen programs found in the market will let you do this too. I think lock 2.0 full lets you upload a custom lock/unlock sound by just renameing the mp3 inside the program on your sd. Im not 100% sure that this is the program name because i haven't used it in several months. There also are severl sounds other users have uploaded that you can choose from as well.

Hope everyone has had a nice holiday season so far. I got a shiny new XOOM as a gift and I was wondering what the best file manager for it would be since it does not have one stock. I have Astro installed right now. I would like to keep stock firmware but I am willing and know how to side load apps. Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.

Definitely FileManager HD or ES File Explorer
File Manager HD works perfect for me and allows me to stream movies on my home network when used in conjunction with a capable video player.
Es File explorer. Especially now I know it also makes the external card write able via its settings. Great for moving files, viewing videos over Lan as well.

I've tried about all of them. File manager HD is the best, and has good root exploring, plus pretty good compression and unzipping with Bluetooth sharing.
There's two "File Manager HD" programs in the market... are you guys talking about the one by Rhythm Software or XUFEIFENG?
I believe the one everyone is referring to is rhythm software. At least that's the one I use and I rather like it.
Antek File Manager is quite good. Lots of options, freezing apps etc.
As you can tell from the responses there is no best. I use four different ones. So look them over and choose what your needs call for.

Astro file manager with the SMB plugin is nice. It allows me to access fileshares on my network as well as locally.
File Manager HD is also great.
File Manager HD for most navigation.
Root Explorer for root stuff.
AndroZip for handling zip files.
