I came across some pretty sweet themes but they dont seem to work with 6.1 Cyanogen. Anyone think they cant port/set them up for the Slide? I think it would be pretty rocking...

Seems this is a more updated version of the above theme?

Good luck and anyone that pulls it off is the best!
As far as I could tell from at least the first link, they're HD themes. Gotta resize everything in the framework.apk as well as every individual res folder for each skinned app.
But the LauncherPro theme you could use. Be wary that it's an older version of launcherpro.
I thought these were gonna be the smoked glass themes someone posted from the nexus one forums. ;p
Gotta say these do look nice
I am looking into using this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737526
Theme importer script.
Seems very promising. But if they need to be resized i dont think this script can handle that... as for the Nexus ones.. how do they compare? and i think the nexus has the same resolution? probably wrong about that lol Just recently got into the whole android moding scene so learning alot
Nexus One is like 800 x 480, we're 320x480 ;p But I heard the N1 is more of a quasi-WVGA. I wouldn't know. I just know it's got a higher resolution.
No fun! Oh well was hoping What other phones themes are compatible size wise with the slide? Maybe i can find a theme for them and convert it...didnt notice anything about screen resolution on the tread so i didnt think it mattered. Also seen something about a pixel densety changer and wonder if that will do any good?
Well looking on wikipedia. i checked out the resolutions and the regular droid seems to be of the same resolution and those themes seem to be for the droid?
also does HDPI and MDPI refer to the resolutions or just the icons? Like should any MDPI theme work on any MDPI phone?
I physically opened the themes on the page and checked the framework.apk's. They have to be resized for our phones.
hm i see. well i hope someone can get these up and running!
The theme porter script has an image resizer that MIGHT work, never actually used it. But it could just make everything look vertically stretched, circles look like ovals, etc, because HDPI is a different aspect ratio than MDPI. Worth a shot though.

I just took the good old NeXus animation, and made it bigger and nicer. I don't know how to make it as an update.zip though, so if anyone could help with that, it'd be great.
Anyway, the manual way to do it is with Root Explorer or something to copy the files to /system/media/bootscreen, or to copy them with adb.
update.zip
here you go, you all know the deal...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605188
it has loads of versions and also the virtical versions.
sry, if I made a dupe. I just saw it on a custom 2.1 rom, and made all the pngs into some gifs. Didn't know there already existed a vertical one already. Just thought it looked cooler 'cause it's bigger.

not sure who made the dupe. chronologically your bootscreen was here first... and actually it does look better, my version (which was AFAIK the base for shenshang) is a little bit crumpled caused by the scaling. this one looks nice and clear
Well, since we're our android devices have icons all over them, I like the plain texture wallpapers the best. You can't see much of an image under the interface elements anyway, so the repeating pattern works kinda well.
Anyway, try them out, let me know if you like em, I'll make more.
All images are 960x800 (fit for my Nexus One screen). You can also download the whole set HERE.
How to set wallpapers in high quality (guide for noobs ):
1. Click on the one you like
2. When imageshack loads, click on the image again. Then copy the full image to your device, however you wanna do it.
3. On your android friend, go to market, download "Wallpaper Set and Save". Why? When you set wallpaper through that app, it'll show up with much better color depth than when setting it through android's gallery app.
4. Post how your screen looks like =)
I didn't make these, I stole them from ze interwebs, so copyright goes to whoever made them, bla bla bla.
Cool man thx.
very nice. thank-you very much.
Wow, thank you for these. I've been looking for something like these...
i agree, these do work quite well.

nice.
i would post my wallpaper set... 404 of them, lol.. Most of them are designs, however, and i agree that plain looks better. Actually deleting them off my sdcard and giving the regular ones a try.

Thank you for these. They look fantastic on my Samsung Epic.
Greetings -
Calling from Johannesburg, South Africa ..
I have just signed on to this forum .. because what I would dearly like to know is a website or two which carry a large number of plain textured wallpapers .. Various colours of course .. but my MAIN request is for the wallpaper to be entirely plain ..
and having a texture of parallel lines, OR horizontal lines OR intersecting lines (like a
mesh or net) OR possibly a kind of corrugated effect .. My knowledge of graphics is
virtually nil .. but I would be EXTREMELY grateful if I could find a site with a large number of these textures ..
With MANY thanks in advance ..
the only one I can think of is doing an image search in Google for "texture".
You should find many textures and websites like that.
Many Thanks
I see a LOT of great themes in this section...absolutely amazing.
Unfortunately I have a Nexus One....and being that our community is a lot smaller we have a paltry selection of themes....
I noticed that a lot of themes here lack HDPI support...and I was wondering if any kind fellow here could either port their themes they make to HDPI devices or if someone else can (with permission) pick up a theme and port....
It'd be great and the entire HDPI android scene would be pleased.
Suavesque is free to port. :]

I've been getting a lot of pm's asking for HDPI version of my theme.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7208540#post7208540
I'm working on it myself, I've grabbed most files from Nexus CM6 and I'm working with that specifically. Either way its free to port if you have the time and beat me to it... or you could help me out lol
well I can't do .9 pngs, suck at XML, have no clue how to do metamorphs or pack update.zips and know nothing about .jar files for framework....
but I can make a mean mockup. lol

yea 480 x 800 (or in the case of Droid and Droid X 480 x 854)
the resolutions for things are what you'd really need to know though right?
I know app icons have an area of 72 x 72...that's pretty mcuh all i know off the top of my head though.

The reason why there are not many HDPI themes in this section goes back a long time when the G1 and MT3G were the only android phones...
The thread is here. Some "genious" decided to move all the G1 themes to the android themes section, so it became the de jure place for G1 themes. When other android phones came out, they did not enforce them to move the themes to this section. Now G1 themes almost exclusively go in here de facto and themes for other phones go in their respective phone sections. It's a messed up system, but you gotta live with it.
Hello everyone. I have been using a theme called enoch for cm5.0.8, white widow rom, and I love it. Its a dark theme with blue highlights. My question is there any way to port it to work with cm6? I am using kaosfroyo and would like to see if I can port some of the graphics. Any help? Thanks!

Switch file names to the one you want and resize. Thats all it takes. Ive ported from Hero/N1/DROID/G1 to our phones with just doing that and no issues when using MetaMorph.
Im not quite sure I follow you? Why would changing the name help? Also the maker of this theme only makes it flashable via recovery as of now. Is it possible to port it to metamorph?
by the way I am using your theme as of right now Kevlar. I like it alot!

Some times the file name might be different from G1 to the Eris. So then you have to rename it to the Eris file name. Easiest way to do it is to compare from an Eris ROM. Then you have to resize to our size.

Thank you. Glad you enjoy it.
I am really new to all of this. Can any theme at all be ported to our Eris? I would really like to have this one on mine running CM6.
The theme is on Droid-forums.net and is 24k Black glass by Cuttalott. I can not post links yet. Sorry. I do not believe posting that is any rules infractions, but I do not post here very often.
Being from Pittsburgh, it obviously would be right up my alley, but I don't think it is possible. He doesn't have it running yet on CM6, but his other ones are. Is this anyway possible or is it out of the capabilities of our device. Like I said, not trying to bother people here, just too new to know what can and can't be done.

Any theme can be ported. Just look into making MetaMorphs and compare file names and sizes. Its that easy. Only time consuming part is resizing.
Might wanna give this a shot hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737526
There us a theme porting script over in the main theme forum,i haven't had a chance to try it yet, but definitely plan on it

My recent go round designing new docks and icons for LP made me realize I was just going off sizes other people were doing, and I had no clue the actual dimensions LP used for both icons and dock sizes. This made it harder to come up with interesting new concept docks/icons.
So i made a small little set of images to get a clear cut look at how LP handles these little enhancements we make. My result is attached down below.
Now this is nice for my phone, but I know (having made quite a few wallpapers for various android devices) there is not just one screen size. Now I don't know if LP uses a fixed size, or if its relative based on screen size.
I sent a message to Federico, and hope he will enlighten me a bit further, but until then I was hoping some of you would download the attached zip, and set the wallpaper, dock bg, and icons to your home screen. Take a screenshot and upload it here! This will give me an idea of how it works and what difference, if any, screen size makes on dimensions.
Unless someone out there has the needed info, then this long post was pointless
TL;DR - Download the zip, set the wall, icon, & dock; screenshot; report back, if you would good sir/madam

Awesome! Thanks for the quick work.
As expected (our phones have same resolution) they match up perfectly. Now we need to get someone with an odd resolution to give it a shot. I can do it on an Aria tonight (mine but my sister uses it).
Keep 'em coming!!
HTC Droid Incredible
I've made quiet a few docks for both dinc, og droid, and droid x and all have worked with a 480x84 demension as far as icons i've heard told that the 74x74 works the best (according to other members on the launcherpro.com forums)

Ahh so the plot thickens. The Icons are down to 60x60, but the dock is the same size. Interesting indeed. I kinda wish LP was open source just so I could figure this out
Thanks for the help

And those are the sizes I started working with. But already we have found that on two devices the icons display at 62x62 and the dock at 480x85 and on one the dock displays correctly at 480x84 but the icons drop down to 60x60.
I'm no java developer, but I know enough to guess its either a set size, or a relative based on certain dimensions. I also hope to talk with Fede about maybe increasing the icon size a bit. I got some interesting designs in mind but would require a bit more flexibility.
And as I said, this is just an experiment to see how in the real world LP works on our devices.
