I tried to install street view on my n1 but it kept saying installation unsuccessfully. I did clear data of the market in application management. Them reboot but still no luck. I did this methods when I couldn't update my maps app.

Try un-installing Google Maps with Titanium Backup then install both Google Maps and Street view. Should work fine.
Yes I think that's what I missed. I'll try and let you know. Thanks though.

Nope. Did not work. Any other ideas?

Errors would help, or at least a log. The most likely cause would be the application is installed in /system and the market installs it to /data. Delete the APK from /system/app, reboot and install from the market.
Wait. delete which APK. ? I see street.apk but no maps.apk in /system/app/

O nvm i found out wat the problem was thank you for helping!

Before you flash, try to clear the launcher cache from settings->Applications->Manage Applications. Select all and scroll down and find your launcher app and clear the cache. That should clear any data remaining from the previous app. You may have to move the old mms.apk back into place, backup your launcher with Titanium, then replace the mms.apk, restart the phone, clear your launcher cache, then you will see all of your icon removed from your home screen. The final step to restore your icons is to use titanium to restore your home screen data.
The new Gmail app 2.3.2 wont install on my nexus one. I'm running MIUI, any ideas why that could be and how i can fix it.

delete it using Root Explorer. its in /system/app/. you can probably delete it with Titanium Backup too. Astro doesnt have root permissions.

If Titanium Backup doesn't remove it for you try Super Manager with root access enabled it its settings menu
Latest gmail 2.3.2 apk
Just place onto your sdcard and then install.
Works fine on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000
Yes. it is very simple. And I find this always works:
Install the new version, if it fails, reboot the phone or restart the Java VM. Do the install again. Done.
I have the same problem with the last apk of Gmail and with Launcher Pro Plus.
I have solved both in the same way, deleting the original with SUBFS or another root explorer.
i have the same problem.
then,i take a gmail APP form CM 6.1 to install...
i'll done~
try it!
guess this is still for 2.2 only? i've seen various threads on other forums claiming there's a 2.1 version goin around and im not sure if it's modded or not
Okay so my problem is, i uninstalled Google Search via titanium backup, then reinstalled it via market...now my search button does not bring up google search and any other app that links to google search gets a FC when attempting to do a search...i did this with all my Gapps and none of the other one's are having this issue, im wondering if there is a way i can get the search app re-recognized by the system without having to reflash my ROM
Try integrating the app back into system using the Titanium batch option...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
its not an option for me, the only thing there is Market
Use Root Explorer to look for the app in /data/app, and move it to /system/app, then rename to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk and reboot.

Hi guys I did something dumb last night as I was tired and not thinking. I installed the new market (vending.apk) on my Xoom and quickly realized its for phones only
Anyone have a link to the stock vending.apk ?
I thought you could go into manage applications, find market and click uninstall updates.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
I tried the same with same result
Could not get the app back, even with TB. Honeycomb-market consists of 2 files: vending.apk and finsky.apk. Finally I had to rip the files from out of the file "system.img" (part of the AU-Telstra-FW) by using "unyaffs", copied them back to "/system/app" and set the permissions to "rw-r-r". APKs from Tiamat-ROM didn't work, tried that first w/o success...
I could upload them to my Dropbox, but i'm not sure if they'll work for you...
Edit:
Uploaded mine: http://db.tt/cTCSrkb
To replace them in the file system you have your Xoom to be rooted.

Let me know if it works

Only thing is Im not rooted on the Xoom so Im not sure that would work.

Is there any way to get old market (2.x.x) back on CM 7?
Not sure if it works on CM 7, but normally just go to manage apps, find the market/market updater and select uninstall updates. Then disable the market updater
^^^ works on superOSR which is cm7 based
Sent from my Galaxy S using XDA Premium App
If the uninstall method doesn't work, you could look for the *.apk of the old market and install it.
@nwsk
thx i was also lookiing how can disable the updater because the new market its too slow
You can delete it from system/app using root explorer (or similar), or freeze it using titanium backup.
