seems it aint been released in UK as I get this message 'The requested item is not available in your location'
Just downloaded it, awesome app. HQ playback on 3G.
I was able to find it via the device market place. Just go to Apps and do a search for YouTube and you would find it in the list.
But I am not sure about the app's search functionality. I have tried searching for a video in native WP7 YouTube app, which gave me a bunch of results, but the same search did not come up with any results on the HTC YouTube one.

Really really like the app, way better than the other youtube app.
It is kind of slow/laggy though but overall it is a great app, needs the ability to sign in with account.

What's the matter with the Hero app? It seems ok to me for the limited occasions that I use YouTube.

I'm not really sure what the OP is talking about, but an issue that I have is that when you click a youtube link in the browser, it opens in HTC Flash Player, rather than the Youtube app. I would rather use the Youtube app as it's a more integrated experience. On devices without Flash, (like the Magic/Dream) it behaves in this fashion, so there must be a way to do it.
Try clearing the defaults of HTC Flash player in manage apps. Then it should ask you which app to open it with (with an option to make it permenantly)

Was the new marketplace for Gingerbread as well? Because it basically uses the same tech as the "Send to phone" app

The new marketplace does not need an OS update after Froyo. Froyo already have the "send to phone" feature included. Now it's just a matter of when Google will put the new marketplace online (maybe in a few weeks as they are still testing it).

Yeah someone above just said it was for Gingerbread and not Froyo which is why i asked
Marketplace is updated in froyo.. you can do automatic updates and stuff. Slight changes here in froyo land but more significant than 2.0 -> 2.1. Its not as revolutionary as you think based on some of the stuff they were giving as sneak peaks for gingerbread. Still.. i can get flash beta on my phone and have it set to auto update. still messing with it all now.
Edit: I could be wrong on the send to phone thing.. my understanding was ginger bread. My bad if i gave out wrong info.
Send to phone is part of Froyo, its a developer API so until some devs implement it it won't work

After finding out my Cam isnt supported by windows 7, I just realised my N1 is twice as good as it anyway, so was wondering is it even feasible to somehow get the N1 to be a webcam for the PC, either by bluetooth, some weird wifi routing or by usb?

Sorry, wasn't sure inder which thread to post, however, does anyone know hoe to get the Netflix app? Zune software can't find it for me, marketplace does not have it either.
strange!!!!!!
because I got one from the marketplace, but its written as T-mobile netflix, so I guess it would only for t-mobile user, not sure though
i got it in marketplace also.
when you go to the market place click on apps> entertainment> free. its the second one there. i just downloaded mine on to my phone.
Is there a XAP available?
There was a .xap of Netflix I found on some other thread but I won't bother linking to it as when I had downloaded and sideloaded it before I had live activated, it wouldn't go past a Netflix splashscreen. You probably have to download legitly from marketplace cause it checks for a license :/

funny, before seeing this post the only thing i tested on netflix was Ip Man. But just tried something else and the audio seems fine for me. right on time.
netflix...
works on my hd2...the vid quality isn't as crisp as say "the transformers" that came on the phone, but it works...could be the connections, a setting or something...the audio is perfect...it does "acquire a license" prior to loading...i couldn't get this to load on android so this is a huge step forward...
i guess im the only one having this issue wonder why

Error streaming
I installed the T-Mobile netflix app and it loads and browses my account.
However, when I try to stream anything I get:
"Connection Problem
Error Code: P8156
A connection problem is preventing playback.
If your phone is connected to your computer, disconnect your phone or close Zune.
If the problem persists, please call Netflix at 866-579-7113"
I get the same error both under wifi and data connection. I have not actived live services. Could that be the problem?

Same problem, but i found a workaround
choose a video and press play
when the video is playing, quickly double tap the powerbutton (so the display will be turned off and directly turned on and you'll be on the lockscreen, but the video keeps playing in the background nice for hearing music
@tdoughone In order to use background play you need to have a YouTube Music Key Subscription. If you have that already it should work fine for you but I suspect that is your issue.

i have a google play music subscription, which includes the youtube music key, and background playing works as it should.
Sorry, I have the play music subscription and it works for me. My friend has the phone with no play nusic subscription and he is the one with the problem. We figured that was the problem but asked in here just to be sure. Thanks for all of the help. It should just be available to everyone lol

OMG finally i found a thread with my issue lol I have been searching on my phone with no luck...it wasn't until I tried searching on my computer and filtered the results to "this week" did i find this thread....anywaaaaay lol I have the same issue, incredibly frustrating. I pay for Google Music All Access (which of course comes with Music Key as you said) and yet I don't have "background/offline" functionality anymore either.
I do not have the Nexus 6. I have the Galaxy S6. But I don't really see how that is relevant. I just wanted to mention just in case
