no.

@all
You're most welcome. Please keep in mind this is not a support thread as I do not have this device. Most of you are probably best served waiting 'til one of the Vibrant experts comes along and release details / how-to's / fixed flash, etc.

No, as you can see from "fingerprint" it is still 2.2. Please also note that I am using JPU (2.2.1) on the "international" Galaxy S, and while it is crazy fast, it has serious issues with data being lost at random times. Don't pray too hard for 2.2.1, I've had to CWM nandroid restore my 2.2.1 "fast io" device almost daily.

looking forward to seeing what this battery life is going to be like and wondering what if anything is new. being that i dont use the default launchers I really only look forward to ill drop down menu and notification bar. hope its gingerbreadish cause i was starting to like that. downloading now so I hope its a hit. will post back with any news as to what it looks like. show me a screen shot taker app and i will post screenies asap.
happy flashing!

Has anyone flashed this yet? Any feedback?

Not any more! This is compiled for 2.1
You got a linpack score you could provide us with?
We could use a tested undo as well. JIT for 2.1 on the G1 caused all kinds of problems.

no if i remeber jit was in 2.1 but wasnt complete so it was never used but in froyo it was complete but needed to be activated. when i was in the 32b section i used jit on all the 2.1 sense roms and it made my phone fly and that was a far more inferior phone than the vibrant so i cant wait to see what this does to our phones!!!
will keep an eye on this one!! pls report if working or not..

JIT was announced in alpha quality for 2.0, so I suspect the 2.1 ver is workable. Not necessarily 100% stable (or they'd have released it standard instead of waiting until 2.2) but workable..
I'll prolly give this a shot tomorrow, can't be too bad
Ok thanks for clearing that up guys. Shows how much of a newb I am to Android. This is my 2nd Android phone and my 1st one was a Behold 2...
I am making a backup now and will flash this and report back.
I'm creating a nandroid and installing this now. I'll post up quadrant and linpack scores. I'm currently runnining RyanZA's lag fix, so I'm getting quadrant scores around 2050 right now.

looks like it only replaces 3 or 4 files:
build.prop
/system/bin/dalvikvm
/system/lib/libdvm.so
/system/lib/libnativehelper.so
so if you want to flash before there's a .zip file revert, just back those up using adb pull or cp/mv before you flash, or just pull them out of a stock rom zip file from the forums
going to flash now..
cheers =)

Oh, I'm with you, if people are smart enough to know about JIT and want to flash it, they should be smart enough to backup their phone first. I'm so tired of everyone complaining about not knowing how to use adb, or terminal, and yet wanting to hack their phones. This is the development forum and not helpdesk, right?

Correction: CM6 is built on AOSP 2.2.
But generally, all ROMs are built off AOSP which is vanilla Android.
Anyone tried this? What works and what doesn't work?
Amen to this.
now i'm tempted to make a mess of my "international" i9000 to see if this will work ... can't even get a d/l at the moment though.

As a bit of education, can you explain the significance of the secondary boot loader? I've seen several postings make reference to it, but I'm not sure what roll it plays, and how it might differ from a Primary boot loader (assuming there is such a thing).
Thanks in advance!

It's responsible for the interaction between your hardware buttons and recovery or download mode. The short version, if you screw it up, your phone won't react at all to pushing the buttons on your phone.

Y'all are quick I was gonna ask the same. Now the question I do have if anyone has knowledge of other devices. I read somewhere that the MyTouch 4G pushed 2.2 followed by 2.2.1 can anyone confirm 2 separate updates on that device? If so might we expect the same with the Vibrant. I know I'm asking for pure speculation on the second question but it's all still speculation at this point. Us getting "Official" Froyo today may still be a big scam or hoax.

You need to FishmanMod a 2.2.1 rom fishman.
I love 2.2.1! Hey Fish, ever think of a resurrection of Biwinning? Or how about that one Ultimate 2.8 rom?

I am putting away the old EDT releases for the most part and starting over from scratch.
Jellette, I've been meaning to flash rom XWJSD for long time now. Finally. Thank you.
Wow, thanks Jellete for the great Roms you're bringing us, for some time now I'm looking for a Froyo i9000 Rom which would work with my Vibrant w/t any major bugs but it was to no avail.
This must be the first, again thank you very much!
If you were to also bring us the latest Darky on Froyo over here would be more than great (I think it was v9.5). Your last Darky's port was the only one to offer proper deep sleep and if it was not for that darn signal bug I would had kept it as my daily driver...

Thanks for the roms jellette. Question though... Do these have the blurry mms fix already or do we need to grab a fixed mms.apk?

Chiming in to show an interest on these babies!
Anything that you develop will be at better than those other ginger bread roms and ICS roms with no working GPS and full of untold bugs.
Your repartition precedes you and I know the quality that goes into the details before a release. I have used your earlier works before and they were just Yummy!
Looking forward to these release and your continued development.

Which link for T-Mo U.S. T-959?
Also I was a big fan of bi-wining back in the day. Would bi-dreams theme work with this?

Thanks - I'd go with the BOJS5 unless you require Arabic support.

Thanks Jellette, looking forward to flashing this rom! I hope all is crisp and sharp with GPS, I am sure this will rock on the trails.
I moved to the UK with my Vibrant, and this has helped out so much with signal and service. GPS is better, and even though I'm not entirely sure if cell reception is better it certainly isn't worse.
Thanks for the hard work.

As well as this worked for you, give the GB build a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1615613

Jellette first of all let me tell you that all your roms are of the best work I have ever seen around, very professionaly made.
Unfortunately I have to say that I'm stuck to the Froyo version of your roms (this is the only recent one) due to the TV-out issue that every version is being plagued with (Samsung didn't bother to rewrite the TV-out drivers for anything apart Froyo). Since I'm a heavy user of TV out I am a bit stuck with this rom.
Well it's the best rom I've used lately, but if you were ever to give us Froyo users a bit more i9000-derived Froyo-love it would had been real welcome. Of course you can do whatever you love most -obviously, but a kick-ass Froyo rom -be sure- won't go unappreciated...

I haven't tried a GB build in quite some time. I appreciate your recommendation and will give it a shot. Thanks.
Hey jellette any thoughts of monkeying around with bi-winning at all? That is a great one
Thanks for this and all your time and work.
