PLEASE HELP :) home home screen, can get into recovery but can't flash - G1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I hope that title helped a little OK, so I have a a big problem. My phone turns on, boots up, and has some functionality like calling but I can not get tot he home screen and has tons of FC's. So I decided to try and reinstall a new ROM. I'm using RA-dream-v.1.6.2 for my recovery which it will boot to. Once inside there I can not boot the zip files on the SD card "E:No Zip files found" and the USB toggle does not work. Before I was also getting some type of Dev/block issue which does not seem to be showing up now, and I have no idea why. Its says the device is connected but it will never show up on my computer. I don't care about losing all my stuff because there was nothing on there anyway. I just want the phone to get back to normal so I don't have to buy a Nexus Sh*#. Any help or suggestions would be great. One other side not is that I'm running the danger SPL. Please help me out guys. Thanks

Update: Now it willnot get past the ROM "sparksco" flash screen! Any thoughts guys? Should I install a new recovery? What about just resetting the phone back to stock and starting over? Any thoughts guys?

non-rooted boot loop on RC-29 :/

UPDATE: from my research, a true brick means I could not get into bootloader. Is this true or not? Because I can. I just can't get into recovery. Tried RC-30 DREAIMG.nbh, it loaded and all, but... still stuck at the G1 screen. Going to flash back to RC-29 when I get home, not that it'll help anything.
Hello friends!
So I got a G1 from someone that was stuck on the G1 boot screen. It is now my phone. (NOT the one in my sig, this is now my "second/spare" G1).
All I know about the phone is that it is not rooted and there is NO water damage. the sticker is white.
I downloading DREAIMG.nbh and at first it was giving me trouble CAMERA+POWER buttons into bootloader rainbow screen would not detect the image! After a few reformats and retries, bootloader will see the image and will flash update DREAIMG.nbh.
However I am STILL stuck at the boot screen after doing this! I could have sworn this would let me boot the phone up normally.
I've let it sit and try to load. I'm currently going to just let it sit forever now to see what might "magically" happen.
I can't get into anything else home+power or home+menu (safe mode I'm told).
On the bootloader screen it reads:
DREA100 PVT 32B
HBOOT-0.95.0000
CPLD-4
RADIO-1.22.12.29
Sep 2 2008
Serial0
Note: I have a powerPC mac...so no sdk... I could try to set it up if needed on the home's mac mini or at work in the office on the windows xp.
My goal:
get it out of this bootloop and ROOT it. (hopeful smiley)
Thank you all in advance for your time and help!
If you can't even get into recovery (home+power) it may be possible that the "someone" who gave you the G1 gave you a bricked one. There is little you can do if you can't get into recovery and the phone won't even boot with DREAIMG.nbh
Which screen are you stuck at after you flash DREAIMG.nbh? The G1 screen or the splash image screen?

that looks fun... well I'm off to read everything there... if anyone else has any further info please share! thanks
So I've been reading and looking everywhere.... my possible solution for now.... is to find a cracked screen/broken G1 with a good motherboard and switch them out. I have the service manual. hmmm.... not the fix I wanted though...
The thing that gets me is that I can go into the bootloader and flash DREAIMG.NBH
If this was a true brick, I should not be able to do that, should I? Is there any other file via bootloader that I can try to install, because DEAIMG.nbh is the only one I know of, and maybe just maybe, if there was something else to try,
then that might get this phone working?
If you have to swap out the board, I have a cracked screen bronze G1 that I bought a few months ago to test out new ROM's on. I'm pretty much done with it and would be willing to part with it. PM me if you're interested.

CM 5.0.7 installation issues

I tried upgrading from 4.2.15.1 to the recent 5.0.7. following the instructions on the wiki, and successfully installed the radio and danger according to fastboot mode but get an error when I try to flash the CM mod. It cancels the installation and says '(Status 0)' when I try. I did a wipe from the recovery screen but is that all I need to do when people say not to upgrade directly from 4.15?

Did you check the MD5sum of the file to see if it was complete?
Ok, so going back I realize for some strange reason I downloaded the N1 version of the mod instead of the G1 version...
but i used to ums_enable command in the console to switch the files and it works now! thanks anyways

having the same problem and i'm not getting any answers either!!!!
the answer is everywhere. There was an issue with the recovery getting wiped. you got to flash the recovery thru fastboot.
One person downloading the wrong version...
one person not reading the thread for the recovery or keeping up with the issues that show up everywhere.....
And SUPREME is back, and was nice to everyone.
WTF is wrong with this picture?

Bricked or not bricked

Hello mates, i´m having a problem with my HTC Dream from Orange, after several several fail trials to update my firmware i think i really made a mess, now my HTC with full bat can´t turn on, only gives me a blinking red led when i press power button. The only way to get it to work is by connecting to a USB cable to the computer or the charger.
I can get this way to recovery mode, wich is v1.4+JF and i can get to the SPL screen...i´m thinking the only way to get this to work is by the JTAG...plz tell me there is another way...
I managed to update my radio and SPL, but now it tells me my Battery voltage is to low! Please change battery...what can i do now?
Here is the info on my HTC Dream from Orange:
Firmware Version 1.1
Baseband Version 62.41S.20.13U_2.22.16.19
Kernel Version 2.6.25-b062f65f herbert and18-2 #18
Build Nunber 1.58.72.2 PLAT-1.0_gms-144337 CL#20416 release-keys

You're not bricked if you can get to recovery or bootloader. However, it does sound like a battery/hardware fail though.
Also... if your phone tells you to change the battery... well... may be you should listen to it.
Good luck.
I have 2 batterys for my Dream, fully charged, and it tells me always that msg. This only happened after i tried to flash it, that´s why i´m seeking help, i know it´s not a battery problem.
Try this:
Connect by usb and start the phone in fastboot mode. Flash AmonRa's recovery, boot into recovery then use it to wipe battery stats.

I really hate to post this....

so i just picked up a g1 from craigslist, dont know what the previous owner did to the phone. its stuck in the bootloader screen(RGB). im very new to the g1 and android..... i am able to get into the recovery manager, but it appears to be the stock one from what i have seen. the boot loader says the following
DREA100 PVT 32B
HBOOT-0.95.0000
CPLD-4
RADIO-1.22.12.29
SEP 2 2008
I have ran signed-kila-ota-115247-prereq.TC4-RC19+RC28.zip under the recovery manager after renaming it to update.zip it seemed like it fully went through the whole process, i hit home+back, it power cycled, and showed like a uturn arrow point to an 8 legged chip for like 30 seconds-1min. then it went to like a uturn arrow coming out of a box going into a phone for a second, then rebooted to the bootloader. i picked up this phone cuz it was cheap, and im familiar with htc phones of the past, where this was an easy fix... but this one doesnt seem to be.... any ideas on what i should try to do next?? btw, i have also flashed the dreaimg.nbh file through the bootloader off the sd card, it completed properly, or looked like it did, showed ok after everything...
any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated... thnx, and srry for the noobish question.... lol..
EDIT: just ran the cupcake 1.5 and the bootloader radio changed to radio-2.22.19.26I everything else stayed the same, if that helps with anything....
EDIT2: just re-ran dreaimg.nbh, and radio line changed back to what is posted up top.... i read in another thread that the camera button is stuck down... i will be heading to my job in an hour or so to desolder said button. i dont believe the camera button is "stuck" due to the fact of the reading im getting from my ohm-meter. but time will tell, and i will update this thread when its done.
EDIT3: Removed the camera button from the mainboard, phone still boots up the same, into bootloader... so i dont thing the camera button was stuck
EDIT4: For the sake of proper documentation purposes only i will post a link to a thread i just opened explaining briefly the beginning of this post, as well as the conclusion and repair of the htc dream by replacing the front button assembly(send, home, back, end, menu buttons, and trackball, as well as usb controller/sd card slot board)

[Q] 00028002 Not Allow - HTC Dream

I was trying to update to ginger yoshi from google ion 3 days ago, but I think I messed up and I just decided to just unroot and restore to original stock rom. Now I am stuck with this error message everytime I boot.
DREA110 PVT 32B HBOOT-0.95.0000 CPLD-4 RADIO-2.22.23.02 RUUNBH
I was trying to flash different DREAIMG.nbh that i found (RC7,RC29), but I keep getting 00028002 not allow.
I read the previous posts here related to my problem and still not working.
I remember I made my SD card a goldcard before.
Any help is much appreciated. I'm on my wit's end.

ok well that was the original rc29 for US... maybe ur phone is UK model? which means you need rc7 and sadly i do not have a link to that.. BUT that might not be the only problem.. im not sure if the goldcard thing might have something to do with it.. lol im sorry wish i could help more..
You can try to flash this rom (orange-1.58.73.2.nbh) by copying to you sd-card and flash from hboot mode.
It comes from the +14MB thread and will give you a rom with a full engineering spl from where you can flash all other things using fastboot.
0002802
In my case I got a phone which I did not know if it was from Europe or the US. I just happened to get the "0002802" error when using what I assume to have been the wrong firmware (European in my case) as when I tried the US version everything worked fine.
In the Cyanogmode wiki there are both versions download them and try both
