I'm trying to finish a fully done GB theme for CM 6.1, I'm having one difficulty. I can't figure out what PNG's to edit to change the colors on the notification power controls here. I would love some help. :] I'm sort of addicted to theming and I will for sure be helping people port themes if I can finish this one! :]

They are in system\framework\framework-res.apk res\drawable-mdpi. They start with stat... ie. stat_2g3g_off.png
Thanks for the fast reply, I've been able to theme everything I've wanted to from apps to the entire framework, however the thing I'm running into is not knowing which file to change to recolor the portion circled in red. I've already tried stat_bgon.9 and stat_bgoff.9 to no avail. What are the possibilities that this is a color picked by an XML and not just a png?
It is likely since it can be changed in cm settings I don't know where its located

Well played! Thanks for the help. It would seem that I got a little PNG crazy since I started theming! If anyone wants help resizing themes and porting anything I'd be more than willing to help. Dude! We'd love your help over here! See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858935
We are trying to port the MIUI ROM for our hero's, but we need someone who has the time/desire to port the images from hdpi to mdpi. There are programs to help make this faster, but we're having some problems with them and a lot of the images are gonna need to be ported by hand. Anyway...let me know what you think! Thanks man!
Actually! I'd love to help, I honestly think that the Miui rom is really legit. I downloaded the rom already, where should I start. I know that some of the apps have been done already right?

Hello everyone. I have been using a theme called enoch for cm5.0.8, white widow rom, and I love it. Its a dark theme with blue highlights. My question is there any way to port it to work with cm6? I am using kaosfroyo and would like to see if I can port some of the graphics. Any help? Thanks!

Switch file names to the one you want and resize. Thats all it takes. Ive ported from Hero/N1/DROID/G1 to our phones with just doing that and no issues when using MetaMorph.
Im not quite sure I follow you? Why would changing the name help? Also the maker of this theme only makes it flashable via recovery as of now. Is it possible to port it to metamorph?
by the way I am using your theme as of right now Kevlar. I like it alot!

Some times the file name might be different from G1 to the Eris. So then you have to rename it to the Eris file name. Easiest way to do it is to compare from an Eris ROM. Then you have to resize to our size.

Thank you. Glad you enjoy it.
I am really new to all of this. Can any theme at all be ported to our Eris? I would really like to have this one on mine running CM6.
The theme is on Droid-forums.net and is 24k Black glass by Cuttalott. I can not post links yet. Sorry. I do not believe posting that is any rules infractions, but I do not post here very often.
Being from Pittsburgh, it obviously would be right up my alley, but I don't think it is possible. He doesn't have it running yet on CM6, but his other ones are. Is this anyway possible or is it out of the capabilities of our device. Like I said, not trying to bother people here, just too new to know what can and can't be done.

Any theme can be ported. Just look into making MetaMorphs and compare file names and sizes. Its that easy. Only time consuming part is resizing.

This is great, but there are a couple of things that are still way to big (lockscreen, check boxes and radio button e.t.c). If someone can point me to where I can get the images sizes for MDPI I am happy to resize them, I just don't know what size they are supposed to be :S

same here... check boxes, radio buttons, text boxes and dropdowns are HUGE!
and could you post a screenshot so we know what has been changed... like the 3G and signal icons? Mine didn't change to the look like the ones in the thread you posted.
He wrote that uploaded theme is wrong and upload the MDPI late on. For those who don't know the size of MDPI .png you can view them from your original MDPI folder in framework-res.apk
I can help with resize too
I have been watching this thread for a while to see if it would be updated, but no luck...if anyone has any luck porting or getting the proper size icons and whatnot, I would be very interested in the theme...

Use the LCD density changer app, I'd upload but I can't right now. If you set it to 120 everything will look better. Try that.
many of u have seen the screen shots and u kno it works. the key factor is that this theme ( personal experience here ) works best on a 2.2 ( froyo ) rom.
yes some things are still out of wack.. but the status bar and notifications flow almost perfectly, the rest can be changed by the user anyways.
Maybe what I am trying to do hasn't been attempted before but I'm stuck and hopefully, someone here is talented enough to help.
I am trying to change the background color of the LauncherProPlus widgets. It is clearly not an image in the res folder and I have been scouring the XML's to see what is driving the color to no avail. Does anyone know where I might have missed or where else to look? I'm thinking maybe I need to start looking through the smali files but would love if someone could provide a little direction.
Thanks.

I am familiar with Benny879 as well as that thread and he hasn't been able to find what controls the background either. He posted that theme on the LauncherPro forums and I installed it optimistic that the background would be black but it is not the case. The image on his sight is a bit deceiving due to the background color but is actually a gray gradient.
So, I'm still searching...

Yup, that's it. Make sure you decompile with Brut's apktool.
Awesome! Thanks to both of you. I had started to go through the smali files last night after having tried every remotely relevant XML.
I'll give it a shot this morning and post back my results. I haven't used Brut's APKTool but use APKManager which I believe is simply a script that utilizes the APKTool.
Actually, I take it back. It appears Signals23 has already accomplished and made available everything I was trying to do which was to make the background black.
So, I'll simply say thank you again, install his masterpiece, and pretend I'm the man.

In my last theme of the LP0.7.7.2, I added a png to the background, that way you have control over the whole thing. If you want to mess with that, let me know and I'll post instructions.

All that is is a theme, they are not really 3d. Check out the darkness theme if i remember right
I know its not 3d and it's not just a theme someone made, it's how the vibrant roms come stock. Captivate roms use matte panels.

No I am understanding you, I am leading you to what you want to know, Most of the time it is not as simple as replacing one or 2 files, there are XML edits that might need to be done. Plus it depends on what rom you are running for not all the framework files are the same. The reason I linked you to it was so you could find your answer from someone that has made the theme and can point you in the right direction. Might not want to be so rude when asking for help. I will go back to my theming of the captivate dialer now. good luck to you

Thanks very much, was it hard to convert for the theme Chooser? Its something I hope more themers will start doing....looks great by the way. Regards
To be honest, it was kind of nightmarish to get the apk to compile right. To do it, you need to use t-mobile's modified sdk on their project wiki to build the package.
t3project made a guide that people can use at
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942203
I already had made my project before he made it, but that gave me the info I needed on how to use the t-mobile sdk to compile that package.
Thanks for the kind words.

I commented on the DINC forums, but I just wanted to thank you again. This is probably the best red theme I've come across for the theme chooser for CM7.
This theme looks great...using it right now...thanks for the hard work

There isn't any way of making it work right now with theme chooser. I found out from Cyanogen's twitter that they aren't planning of putting battery percentage back in the statusbar. They did add a way to make it always show up on the lock screen, though. You can adjust the setting by going to:
Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> Lockscreen -> Always display battery status
Im rocking with these theme now! Looking good, just needs more red icons... and add red to the notification dropdown...Good job

Actually, that probably is on the agenda. I'm going to get this to the point I'm happy with it first, but there probably will be a blue version and an orange version too. I was thinking true blue (hex code 0000ff), but I'm curious what people are looking for.
Screenshots look great, unfortunately the theme doesn't install on the CM7 Wimax rom (based on nightly 24) might just be something with that particular build. But, until shinzul has a chance to re-sync, would you be able to look into the rom and add the red to the 4G icon?
