Don't Pay Attention To That!! Just Press The Back Button, Next Choose A ROM & Download It, Put It On Your SDCard (Not In A SubFolder) Boot Into Recovery, Select Install Zip From SDCard, Scroll Down & Select The ROM, Wait For It To Boot (The 1st Time, May Take Longer Than Usual To Boot) That's It Hope This Helps!!

dont use one click lagfix for anything.
I never had a one click lag fix for anything, it was a one click root. The lag fix was an update.zip file

I ended up reverting to Eclair and flashing Cognition4 for the time being. It's as close to bone stock Official Froyo from Samsung as it gets. That and I didn't check back and see your post before I had begun flashing Cognition4... lol.
Was anyone else successful? Original poster, how'd it go, did the above mentioned OneClicker work for ya?
Yeah, i one click rooted my 2.2 Captivate earlier today. No problems at all.
Cool...
I wonder why just placing the Update.zip on the Internal SD, booting into recovery <3e>, and reinstalling the update doesn't work??
I had tried that method as well and still got the signature error stop.
Oh well...

You can use this modded recovery to install things with 3e, or enable the use of CWM.
Worked for me.

Thats fine. Once you begin rooting it should start the adb service and find your device. Just follow the instructions.

I would recommend superoneclick by CLShortfuse for the actual rooting. Works great, and you can enable non market apps with the same program. One note, in the top right of the box that opens, you will have to choose either "psneuter" or "rage...cage". I think most people choose the rage option, but psneuter is chosen by default.

1) restart computer
2) uninstall drivers you have now for the phone. Download the new version (1.8)
3) Try again, and good luck.
Final thought, did you enable usb debugging?

Root OF /sdcard, it means the main directory ... Not in any folders.
So I put it on the internal sd(no a folder) then boot in to recovery and just re-install packages. Done

Are you on 2.2? If so then no, its not digitally signed for 3e recovery ... Look up in TRusselo's signature he has a link for getting passed that ... If on 2.1 you are good.
On 2.1

Not sure why you couldn't backup and restore....
Clockwork had problems for a few days after launch but has been fixed for awhile now.
its been working just fine for a while now.
Charging while the phone is off has also been fixed in 3.0.2.5
Mine has been working fine for awhile now.
3.0.2.5 is working on Tbolt?
Instead of going into clockwork it would put me in bootloader and recovery option just rebooted bootloader. Anyone else experience this?
nevermind.....Working just fine now

No problems here with 3.0.2.5. Try flashing an old one and then reflash 3.0.2.5.

I've run into a problem with Rom Manager. I had it installed on my Incredible before and it worked fine. Well now I've switched to the Thunderbolt and re-downloaded through the market. My problem is that it still shows Incredible rom's, not Thunderbolt rom's. Any ideas how to fix this?

I just had this problem...all you need to do is use a file manager and navigate to clockwork folder and delete the settings file in that folder. Might have to reinstall afterward.

quick question about rom manager
newbie question.
does rom manager back up the current kernel? if i flash a different kernel, will i be able to return it to the previous if i dont like it?
I have looked everywhere for this, but cannot find it. I am not sure how, but the systemui.apk is no longer on my phone, and so all features that it controls are not working. Does anyone have the apk for the Note 1 N7000 jelly bean update that I can download? I am going crazy without my notification bar.
My kernel is 3.0.31-906407
[email protected] #3
Build number: JZO54K.N7000JPLSB.
I have done a factory reset, and tryed to replace it with apk's I have found. I looked at rooting the phone, but I need to ensure I have it till the 28th, when if I cannot fix it my husband will root it. Please let me know if you can help.
Thank you

How do you know systemuiapk is missing? I would expect that it would show a boat load of errors on boot up and not run. What are the symptoms?

It is not listed in the "All Apps" section of the apps manager.
Symptoms: When my phone rings the notification to tell me who is calling does not pop up. I have to go into the phone app to even see who is calling, much less answer the call.
My notification bar is gone.
When I get a text message my phone will vibrate, but not chime.
My wall paper is gone.
I have found threads about rooted phones where people have removed the systemui that this are the same symptoms they have. The problem is that they had the original rooted program they used, so can reinstall that. I cannot do that, as my phone is not rooted. That is why I think my systemui is gone.
Install root explorer and check in /system/app folder for the apk, or in /preload/symlink/system/app. If it's there in preload, you will need to create a symlink for that in system/app.

You won't be able to install it as you're not rooted and it requires administrator privileges. But it's there anyway so I don't think that's the issue.
When did it stop working and was there any app you installed beforehand?

Thats really strange... Try rebooting into recovery (Vol up, home and power held down until you see samsung logo) then choose wipe cache and reboot. I doubt that will fix it though.
Only other options I can see are to root device by installing phillz kernel, wipe cache and dalvik from recovery, or root device, reinstall the app and make sure permissions are correct, or wipe device and start from scratch.

You said you tried to replace it ? How? Do you have an odex or deoxed rom? Anyways you will need root access to resolve this issue if you dont want to go about reinstalling the rom again.

Stop playing with essential parts of your system if you have absolutely no idea of what you are doing.
To get back to a reliable configuration:
download a stock rom and install it following the instructions in Dr. Ketan's thread here.
After that: start to read and learn. High probability this will protect the life of your device.
