Hello all,
I am looking for a way to alphabetically sort apps in TW Launcher. I already tried:
- removing /dbdata/databases/com.sec.android.app.twlauncher/launcher.db
- wipe application data of TWLauncher
No luck at all. I am on JPX and DocV5.1
Any ideas?
Thanks
bump... any idea ?
I've been searching for a solution for this a long time but haven't found anything.
I just went with launcher pro instead.

I do have LP+ but I am sick of it. Especially cause I cannot go back to drawer from app (due to fact that it is based on 1.6)

Is there any way to remove touchwiz without screwing up my captivate? Last time I tried I was getting all kinds of force closes. I am currently using launcher pro.

it's built-in to the firmware. Really can't get rid of it. Only thing you can do is just use launcher pro.

no one has found a way yet short of building an AOSP ROM, sorry
I figured as much. This phone rocks rooted with the super root lag fix mod. It's going to be sick when we get a custom rom and or froyo update for it!

Launcher Pro is okay, Id definitely recommend ADW Launcher which has had a ton of development work done already and even works perfectly with my Captivate.
On top of that there are alot of themes that can install on top of it if you'd like
Search for "ADW.Launcher" on the market.

its baked into the firmware and I would miss some of the touchwiz features, mainly:
- toggles in the notification panel
- swipe right on contact to call/left on contact to message
If you default launcherpro or another launcher as default, the touchwiz launcher never loads - so no big deal...
And this is under development because.....
Removing TW from the ROM is most definitely a dev issue.

apparently, Eugene_373 figured it out.

Hi there Folks!
I'm running EspressoEnergy mod for my Hero by PMGRANDS. Awesome ROM!
I'm wondering if there's an easy way to switch the launcher (not sure if this is the right word.. the bottom bar that has phone, applications, and add (+) ) back to the original one provided by HTC?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Yep, you're correct on the terminology! You're well on your way!
And that's a great question. I would like to know that too.
search the market. I use ADW EX but Zeam is great too. there is an app that will switch them or press home with 2 or more launchers and it will bring up a selector. Sorry I misread the question You need an HTC based Rom to get the launcher back.
He's on sense based Rom

Pmgrands' looks different in the screen shots of his OP. Maybe try liquidsense or nfx roms. Or ask someone like kifno who has experience with that rom.

He may have modded his
He tweaked quite a few things on his.

Hi all just wondering for those using launcher pro does launcher pro freeze when you first start up your phone
The launcher is fine once you perform a force close so it is not too annoying
Still it would be good if I can change the situation
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
that happened for me too, on CM7 RC2, it had to force close to be responsive again... right now i'm on CM7 RC4 and that never happened again, also try to check if you are on the last version of launcherpro 0.8.4.1... because maybe the lastest updates of launcherpro fixes that weirdness.
I have the same problem with launcher pro (paid version too) on cm7 rc4 so no thats not the solution lol
Yeah I'm on the latest nscollab which is just cm7 rc4 and the newest version of launcher pro
Thanks for the suggestion though

I have the same problem, but I wanted to change the ROM...
I had the same issue with the stock rom. It appears to be LP related.

I have the same thing. Launcher pro freezing every time when finalizing boot getting force closes. Paid version too. Thanks

This has happened with every single ROM I've ever used - also with my Hero - def LP bug.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Good to know that it is a common problem I guess all I CB do is wait for an update
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Always had this problem, with my Nexus One, Desire HD and now Nexus S. On booting, LP freezes with a black screen for about 30s or so.
I've just given up with it and switched to Zeam, cos I was getting pretty tired of it.
The defect, occurs when certain apps are installed on SD.
Resolved to move app to the internal memory.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I have all my apps on internal, but the problem still happens.
Use Zeam launcher its faster than any other launcher i've used so far
This issue is what made me switch to ADW. It really began to get frustrating.
I have this problem also . . . doesn't happen all the time though. Recently it stopped backing up settings to the SD card also
I have been having this problem as well. After a reboot ( due to cm7 being unstable ) I have a black screen and you would think the phone was crashed if not for BLD buttons working on the bottom and the volume rocker making sounds when pressed, after about 3 mins desktop and bar show up.
Its been getting worse and worse. I have never used any launcher but LPP but I switched to ADW as its getting really bad, I just switched back as I can't stand adw but I think I either have to find a new launch, get used to adw, or something as LPP is killing me everytime I have to reboot.
I am going to cross post this to LPP forums as well as I thought I was alone but obviously if there is a thread on it, then I am not alone. Here is hoping a fix is found as I really like LPP.
Facts: no app's stored on SD, no widgets installed on SD.
Cheers,
Switch to go launcher ex

adw launcher is probably the best all around. i love it
Just updated to cm 7 well the newest nscollab the problem is not as bad now
It's wite finicky
I use zeam on my x10 but I like the Widgets from lpp more
Adw... just looks odd to me
Go is not bad but too iPhone like
Regina lags..as you can see I've tried a fair few launchers
Side note lpp would be perfect if it has gestures and screen organisation like if you can rearrange screen order
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
So I figured out my issue, I was using the BFS sched. from netarch and once I switched to CFS things went to acceptable levels, I say acceptable as its still not as good as ADW but its good enough that I can use the launcher I prefer, lets just hope he stays up on the updates still waiting for the rewrite and with his last post of themeing widgets for this version I am afraid we are a bit lower on the queue.
As the title says.
I'd like to use a custom launcher the blur one is a little laggy. But I love the "Quick Contacts" widget.
But when installing launcher ex or launcher pro it doesn't show. It's there but can't see it. Anyone else had this???
Like you, I LOVE that widget, however, there is yet no way to get it to work in any launcher besides the stock blur

Ugh. That sucks. Hope it will be fixed soon :-(
Go launcher pro has a widget similar to the stock contact widget and you can size it the way you like.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
I know I know. But it's for sure not as amazing . If I size it the same it takes a whole screen. The moto one is just awesome. Snifffff
True. It doesn't pull down like the stock one.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
Yeah, the stock one is really pretty, animated, and only takes up one line of screen when you don't need it.

I'm currently running THS build 15, and I absolutely love it. The only thing preventing this ROM from being pretty much complete in my books (other than some of the 'placeholder' settings) is the fact that the Trebuchet launcher doesn't allow hiding of apps in the app drawer. I hate clutter, especially since I don't use 90% of the 2 pages of apps that come with it by default.
I love the ICS theme and the ICS drawer, but are there any ICS launchers that are similar but allow hiding of apps in the app drawer?
you could try go launcher with ics theme
