Contacts in gmail - Nook Color General

I did q search and couldn't find if anyone else was having issues with the contacts in gmail not popping up when entering a person's name in the" to" field for email. Besides that the email works great. Thanks

Gmail pulls from the contacts stored. Because there are no contacts, the email address can't be populated.

Merging Phone Phone Accounts

Maybe the wrong place for this question, so if it is direct me accordingly, is there a way to merge my gmail account to my yahoo account for my phone's main login? Or maybe a combination sync to both?

Does check marking the sync on both accounts for say something like contacts or calendar merge the two? I hope my question is clear as mud!

I think you have to just manually pull out your contacts from yahoo into your gmail account. Or I know gmail allows you to pull your contacts out and put them into a different format, but I'm not sure if yahoo will allow you to upload that file into contacts. You can merge gmail contacts though if you can get them all in there.
Personally I hate yahoo cause they don't allow anywhere near the flexibility that gmail does unless you pay them.

Well google's flexibility is bar none. To get my facebook contacts into google+ I had to import all of my facebook friends to a yahoo account, then was able to import yahoo into G+. So I would imagine it shouldn't be hard when setting up a gmail account to get all contacts and emails imported.

The stock email app syncs Hotmail fine. Just input your email and password. It does the rest. If you want push then you can setup your Gmail account to retrieve your Hotmail and then have it pushed to the phone via the Gmail app.

I just use the app "Hotmail" which should be the first result in the market.
The only problem with any hotmail app so far is there's no text selection and copy/paste. I often track packages and I have to open dolphin browser and copy/paste my tracking number. (Dolphin has a great text selection method, similar to iphone with the magnifying glass).

[Q] Outgoing name in stock email app

I've added my Hotmail account to the stock e-mail app, set up as Exchange ActiveSync. I can't however figure out how to change my outgoing name in sent mail. It just shows my mail account name without the @hotmail.com.
Now I know there's a Hotmail app available in the market with the option I'm looking for, but it only syncs mail from the last 30 days, which I don't want and therefor prefer the stock e-mail app (syncs everything).
I'm on 2.3.6 (KKA). Thanks in advance!

Email>Menu>More>Account Settings allows you to change your name and your signature. Is that what you are looking for?
Yes, except I don't get a field with "Your name". The signature field is there however.

Are you using the Gmail app or the Email app?
On my Note, the Gmail app has only the signature field in settings, the Email app (which you can use with gmail and/or any other email provider) has "Your name" and "Add Signature" in settings.
edit: I see that in your OP you did say you were using the Email app with Hotmail - so now I don't know what to think!
edit 2: I just tested mine by sending an email to myself, looked at it on my computer, it sent Stan/GNote as my name, followed by my email address.

I found a workaround to change the "Your Name" setting in the stock Email app. I posted the details at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31342076.

[Q] AOL email links not working in Gmail app

I hope this is the correct place to ask this. When I set up my AOL email in the now combined Gmail app I can check my mail without any problem but links in the email aren't working. They just show up as text. Any help would be appreciated.
Glad I'm not the only one who can't get it to work.
I think it is a generic problem with how gmail app reads non gmail emails, especially when sent on plain text, I get it when I read the XDA emails, which are sent to my imap account that I read in the gmail app
I forgot about this... I went to K9 mail and it seems to work well. Might be with a look.
True - I try lots of others, but keep going back to K9 - I don't want much in an email package - NON-threading, Alias support - ideally picking the ones up I have set up in gmail and IMAP support - and K9 does it.
