Since Gingerbread update i have been getting at least 10 hours of pretty heavy use (web browsing over 3g and bluetooth music and) first day with only a few apps loaded i got almost 20 hours on one charge 3g bluetooth off and just wifi.

Well, to be fully honest, now that i've upgraded to Gingerbread for Sprint Galaxy Tab, the battery is much weaker? i charged up in the morning, used a little wifi, and a little brosing, it was down to 85% in just 3 hours? may be its just me
Thats how i was before gingerbread. My tab last all day now with gingerbread.

Mine seems to have declined as well, but I've also changed roms multiple times lately and haven't wiped battery stats.
Im at 12 hours with 15% left and i just plugged it up. Like i said i used wifi 3g and streamed bluetooth audio all day today.

Hi Kosh..I read a lot about your post and threat. Seems you are well known in XDA now. Nice
Anyway, about your question. I'm using stock rom and to be honest before I upgrade to GB, I only have 4 to 5 hour of heavy use. BUT after GB, now I an have nearly 8 to 9 hours with 3g and bluetooth (headset) on .

Talk with att

Just talked to att fond out LG has problems with the thrill and are working on fixing it, I hope they do this soon and I'm getting a 4G sim card turns out I'm not getting 4G speeds because my sim is to old

What problems? They say that about every Android device.
Mine is working just fine, sans the occasional glitch, which I also had on my Atrix, and the wife's Inspire, and my captivate, and the GS2 I tried... See a pattern?
Oh, and even my iPhones had problems.
No problems here.
They said that some of the thrill's battery's cause power failures like mine and have freezing problems another problem I have I had to warranty mine out

So its a battery problem and not a phone problem?
Sent from my LG-P925 using Tapatalk
Well that's what they have to do first with my thrill replace the battery

Well after getting a new battery it does seem to work better and it is nice not having to charge 2-3 times a day.
Juice defender.
Lately my battery has been dying pretty fast. I think it's either going bad or SPB Launcher is draining it.
Got my new battery my phone already works better

I'm very lucky that I haven't had too much trouble with my thrill. Battery life sucks, but that's because of the software...

i can imagine a graphics intensive launcher like spb will drain your battery pretty quickly.

Gingerbread and good battery life is possible?

All roms tested by me drains battery very fast, any sugestion?

Define all? I've had great battery life on I897 roms, decent on i9000 ports
Best battery life i ever had was on Continuum 6.1 with Talon. But i had the charge bug too. Still 5+hrs display, plus about 30-40 minutes talk time is missed.
Have to agree...battery life on i897 since the kf1 leak up til now has been awesome.

Copying battery stats file?

Would it work to just copy the battery stats file to another rom so u don't have to re calibrate everytime u install one or would that be a bad idea

You don't need to calibrate, just charge it full. Battery stats are automatically wiped when you unplug with a full charge.

Well the new 3500 milliamp battery I got says to fully discharge and charge 4-5 times to get the most out of ur battery. Or is that just for when u first get it

Just when you first get it. Its a "break in" for batteries.
Sent from my XT862 using XDA App
Although I believe that its good to do a full discharge and charge every so often.
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
Alright that's what I thought. Although while discharging my phone froze up and rebooted so I think ill have to recalibrate again lol

It shouldn't affect battery. I've tested it myself, battery life before and after calibration is no different. This calibration myth was debunked by a google framework engineer.
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
ya I read a short thing on that. Kinda odd though. Seems like sometimes u could get a worse battery life some days compared to others. But it also seems like a good idea since u don't have to calibrate every time u do something.

The calibration has nothing to do with the battery life, it just gives a more "exact" reading of the battery level.. I miscalibrated my battery once, and it was at 1% for about 3 hours, then finally died..

Ya that happened to me once. Now I just make a point of being able to fully charge anytime I flash a rom.
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
I have now been convinced that there is no reason to calibrate your battery at anytime. Google engineer pretty much put it to rest and since then I have flashed repeatedly and all that changes is the ROM , sometimes battery is bad and other times its great. CM9 is best so far. Until we get new kernals our battery won't ever be great.

Ya reading through the comments it seems batterystats.bin has nothing to do with the displayed battery level, but rather just what is using the battery. The displayed battery level comes from kernel level

Same, although not for 3 hours but 15min heavy load (720p mkv). Which normally kills 10% battery.
After calibrate it never happened again and died right after 1%

Ics Signal loss?

I've been obsessive about the amount of signal loss I get with the thrill since GB. Flashed the new v30 ICS and it went well during the day. But overnight I let it sleep. Checked it this morning in the battery usage stats. Had 26% of time on with signal loss. Wondering if anyone else has seen this?
