[Q] Notification pulldown .pngs ? - Captivate Themes and Apps

can someone tell me which .pngs in the framework-res correspond to the different elements of the actual pulldown?
ive seen two pulldowns that i want to kinda combine.... the transparent background with the Galaxy S logo of the Darkness theme, and then the other elements of the ANDRODeNa GaLaSSiA theme....

It's in the twframework-res.apk

Throw the twframework-res.apk into apk manager decomplie it and check out the file names and thumbnails of each picture. With a little logical deduction it's pretty easy to find out which file corresponds to each item in the pull down menu. The hard items to change are the font colors. There are a few guides around the forum if you search long enough for them. I however am in a good mood right now so...here are a couple of links to the guides I used when making my JJ4 Gingerbread theme.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for icons similar to iphones, but black and white, something that will match the BlackMod theme for CM6

Or do a search. I have found several. Then use gimp and do Colorize from the color menu.
I believe there is also black and white icon packs for ADW in the market.

I use some of these custom iPhone/iTouch icons with the Desktop Visualizer program (download in Market).
http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/handhelds/?q=Ups#/d2wv9qk
They aren't all just plain black/white, but as suggested in an earlier post, you can just extract some of these icons that are already formatted and designed with that 'iPhone' look then just convert them to black/white in Photoshop and resave.
EDIT: Looks like that same designer actually does have a black/white only icon pack. See here: http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/handhelds/?q=Ups#/d2xhb47

I realize it's been a month since you posted your question...hopefully you have found several themes for fusion by now...If your still looking, what color are you looking for. Or no color?
WOW

thanks for responding ruger94

Fusion 1.9 just about ready.

Bootloaders
Im currently running 2.3 mosaic and wanted to know if fusion had bootloaders in it?i want to go baxk and forth between the 2 roms but really would not have to go back to stoxk but also dont want to brick my cappy.
Seeing as there's been no release for usa captivate i897 gb on samfirmware.com I'm not real sure on the rules of jumping back to froyo. But as far as bootloaders are concerned; no the fusion cwm zips don't contain any.
Hope that helps.
If not talk to xtreme as the same rules would apply if you were jumping back to FF3.0 and he knows more about the GB bootloaders.
Keep in mind tho that the bootloaders for Mosaic is built from i9000 sources.

But I'ed like to see a dark brown / mud / chocolate colored theme for fusion.
Seen lots of blues, reds and greens tho...
edit: finally read thru all the posts for this ROM, I'll give "Burnt Fusion" a run... still would like to see something darker.
If not brownish, a rusty or dirty look will do as well. Something like you guys "came across an old abandoned reactor/atom smasher, and are brining it back to life" kinda look.

Hey, I'm trying some dabbling in themes and Modding. I've been using Apk Manager 4.9 to unzip and modify pngs and even used a hex editor to change the colors on the status bar notifications in status_bar.xml.
I tried to decompile the systemUI.apk and found the clock.smali file and changed the textcolor setting in there. But when I go to recompile it in Apk manager, I get errors. I was wondering if one of you cooks could tell me how to change the clock color, or what I might be doing wrong? I'm on Windows 7 and have most of a kitchen with the drivers, Java. notepad++ and stuff.
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out, I was deleting the wrong file when I needed to add from the original when I recompiled the apk, now I just have to figured out the color codes.

[THEME][4/3/11]Custom Icons, Settings and Boot Menu

I was inspired to further customize my phone and made my first set of icons. Be kind, this is my first attempt, I wanted the menu on my phone to have the same look and feel of the SuperDark/NitroDark/NitroComb themes, which I love. Thanks to thatdudebutch and nitroglycerine33 for the inspiration and everyone else who themes.
I did not make the images from scratch, I took the images right out of the framework and photoshop'd down to greyscale to try and start with a nice even baseline then added in color in with blue glow to mimic the glow of NitroHoneyComb. Let me know what you think. I don't know how to make a flashable zip yet, but I will share the .png files with anyone who wants them. A zip is now available for download if you like. THIS ZIP IS NOT FLASHABLE YET. IT CONTAINS THE PNG FILES ONLY. I'm working on making a flashable version soon.
Added new icons for boot menu, and matching set for the settings menu also. Still NOT flashable yet, png files only.
Settings menu icons v2 blue glow http://www.mediafire.com/file/4kk6f86z6aghbrb/settings_menu_icons_v2.zip
Settings menu icons v2.1 white glow http://www.mediafire.com/file/rcir68zm2d2zxbj/settings_menu_icons_v2.1.zip
Settings and boot icons v3 purplish/white glow http://www.mediafire.com/file/5qlf3vtnre3gvs4/settings_and_boot_menu_v3.zip
Boot menu icons http://www.mediafire.com/file/406ii0x7aoa2072/boot_menu_icons.zip
v5
New modified icon set for the settings menu, I pulled the raw images from here (http://gnome-look.org) and added the colors and effects to match the theme Glowing Blue by Gunnermike, these are preinstalled in his theme. Check his great looking theme here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022278). If you like them or have suggestions for the next set let me know.

There are a number of them within framework-res.apk in res/drawable-hdpi folder that can be changed out. But some apps will pull images from their own apk's and others will pull from the framework. So when using a particular app you might find that 2 of the 6 menu icons are themed the way you want unless you hunt down each one from all of the various apk's. Check nitsuj17's sticky on how to go about swapping images in an apk.

Sounds interesting, I went into the System ui apk, and opened "res" folder, then "drawable-hdpi", and found what I believe to be the right file, "status_bar_background.png" is this the correct file to edit for say, changing the transparency in gimp or photoshop?
I, like vdubguy, would like to know how to do this without using the kitchen.

With the new system ui API you ,have to decompile the apk and change a value as it points the background to a color code and not the image. Once you change that then you can change the image to add transperncy. You will also have to decompile it to make color changes as well

Is this why we have bootloops when flashing a modified framework-res.apk?
My response to the request was going to be simply that as far as I know, nobody has managed to recompile framework-res without causing bootloops, and until that's resolved, we're not going to see much real theming for T/V. Without the option to edit 9.png's and xml's, there's no way to modify - among other things - popups, most buttons, tabs, color values, text styles, etc. I've mentioned this issue in the apktool thread but gotten no response, I guess the next thing I'll do is report it as an issue on their website.
Sent from my LT25i using xda premium
There are quite a few things that can be modified without touching framework-res, like nav bar buttons (which has been done already), background image/color and status bar things like text color, center clock, toggle buttons. Also, we could modify one of the stock Sony themes to get a little closer. It wouldn't be real AOSP but I think we can get pretty close. Let me know if this is acceptable and I'll give it a try.

THAT would be great. Would also be great if you can remove the silver bar on the dock, or maybe guide me to the right direction.

Im not knowledgeable to the point to avoid this yet
I shouldn't have said "no real theming", because not only is that being too negative and a bit over-dramatic, but it takes away from the work that people have already done and are doing now. So apologies for that!
And sorry for the OT.

Removing the dock bar is easy but it's a little too late here to go into that now. Modifying framework-res is a no-go, at least not in the easy re/decompile way.
I've made a little package with my modifications. I know some people have already done bits of this but it felt better doing it all in one go from scratch. All files are taken from galaxy nexus and nexus 4 factory images (jzo54k and jdq39). This has small nav bar buttons from recoba23 and lidroid power widget by peetr_, modified a bit by me. Made a custom theme to better fit the jelly bean blue color and wallpaper + lockscreen background. Replaced the app background with just plain black. Nexus bootanimation. Added AOSP launcher. You can get the AOSP lockscreen by renaming/deleting UxpNxtLockscreen.apk but it doesn't look right, there was some kind of weird bar at the bottom
Let me know what you think could be better or feel free to customize it. Maybe we should start a new thread or change the title because it's not really a request anymore
