I normally wipe a couple of times, just to make sure i have done everything.

i wipe everything which is there in recovery wipe option

Do you have an ext partition? If so, wipe it

nop i dont use ext partition

Which splash screen are you stuck on anyway? The G1 screen or the superD splash?

G1 which comes when phone is switched on (before recovery) but it works gud with cyon 6.,super f ,and chromatic.

ROM Manager

Was somebody able to install ROM Manager for 32A?
Recovery is not working with my phone...
yes it will work but you have to root first. I used the one click for the nexus one and it worked like a charm now i'm running 2.2 cyan . I ran the 1.61 and it worked!!!Rooted the ran the rom manager>download rom picked cyan rom and booya 2.2. It runs great no problems yet. Be sure to add the google apps. First I did a backup after rooting then installed the new rom Good luck!!!
Edit ::It wont let me post the link so goto nexus one>themes and apps> then find the thread of one click root.
Mytouch 3g 1.2 rooted one click
cyan 2.2

I have Rom manager installed on my magic 32a, recovery is installed too, but is not working... I think this is because I'm with the new radio 6.35 and 1.76...

It should, but it isn't for me.There is an option to flash alternative recovery (amon ra 1.7h) but it is not suitable for my radio and spl.... and it is not working. For me is 1.62 and is ok.
I've been kinda out of the game for a little while, and not to sure if this is the correct thread to be asking this but does Rom Manager work with the Droid X now? And should I get Bootstrap Recovery?
web connect
does anyone know if cognition rom supports web connect?
u should try to fix the recovery ,,
rom manager wouldn't be as good as the recovery ..
best luck

Im pretty sure after wiping you can just still flash a rom from your sd card.
And you are already rooted, no need to use unrevoked.
In recovery, mount usb, its in advanced I think and put the rom on sd card.

[Q] Used Nexus One - fresh start

Hi,
I have purchased a used Nexus One running stock 2.3.3 (with locked bootloader) and I am wondering how I am going to wipe it as if it were a brand new install (no residual settings, apps, accounts etc)?
I have done a bit of research and found that the recovery allows you to wipe data, is this what I would do?
Thanks,
menu/settings/privacy/factory data reset

Okay I'll try that. Thanks! How does this compare to the recovery 'wipe'?
if you're not rooted then this is your only option.it works well. to do a recovery wipe then you will need root and a custom recovery installed.
I thought it was the same thing? You can wipe in stock recovery...can't you?

[UPDATE] Official ClockworkMod

time has arrived, after supplying all the info, koush did a hell of a job with creating this
download rommanager from the market
and install the recovery for the Incredible S
WARNING DO NOT PARTITION SDCARD <- THIS WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE, A FIX IS ON THE WAY
all thanks go out to koush offcourse
i tested:
backup, whipe data, restore, reboot... all worked
bugs found:
sdcard > if you do parition this, you will end up jtaggin your device cuz its bricked! (the fix is on the way)
backup time > in the folder it shows a wrong time that it has been created atleast for me it does.. it shows a 3 hour difference idk how its set but its not a big deal in my opinion
Awesome!

Am I to assume that this is for S-OFF phones only and isn't the S-ON exploit?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
ClockworkMod is a custom recovery that allows you to create android backups, flash update zip files and wipe system partitions. You need to be S-OFF to install a custom recovery because otherwise the partition you need to write to is locked.
If you have come from a different HTC Android phone, you may have used AmonRA recovery's, this is very similar except it comes with an app you can use whilst in Android to manage your recovery and backups much easier.
This is good news as we now have official support and all the features should be working, where as the two ports gloating about both had problems.
Hope that clears everything up

Does this mean we can now temp root and then install the recovery. Or is that the goal? Anyway, nice to see l0st.pr0phet from the hero scene. Just won this phone yesterday at an htc event so still orientating the possibilities
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium App
Gotcha. I am familiar with recoveries having used both on my old Hero, I think I was just hoping against hope that this was an S-OFF exploit somehow. Also I am very hung over and not thinking clearly, which only made things worse.

people for all your questions. search on google what clockworkmod recovery is
all i did whas gather al the info that was needed to realise to get this up and running, koush builded it and its fully supported now in the rommanager...
yes you need root...
no this is not an exploit
Thank you, working here
Now we just need a working wwe flashable rom with 2.3
Edit: how do I select items? Can't do it with power, the volume keys move the selection and the not illuminated touch keys doesn't do the trick

You sure?
Works for me...

Edit: I tried it a 3rd time and now it works don't know y didn't changed anything

I have the same problem with an S-OFF phone and temproot.
Can someone explain me what is wrong?
Try to go and clear data for the super-user application (Settings -> Apps -> Manage -> All apps -> Super-user -> Clear data)
Then reboot (just in case) and try to install Clockworkmod from Rom Manager again.
<warning, this is on your own risk>
anyone want to be so kind to test this on the INC2, it seems only the local partition wont be backed up, which shudnt be a problem tho
<warning, this is on your own risk>
p.s. yes offcourse u need s-off for this.......

Thank you but, if i reboot, i will lose the temp-root.
What can i do to avoid this ?
Is there another way to get root with an S-OFF phone ?

Use SuperOneClick on your ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
That way you will permanently root, and you wont lose the settings after a reboot.

Can't run anything over 1.5, please help!

Hello, a while back i had my phone on 2.3, but then i decided to flash one of the sense roms and the recovery patch, after this i cannot boot anything above 1.5, I've tried several different SPL's, with no luck, I'm thinking of going back to complete factory settings (default spl, default recovery, default partitions) is there anything other than that i can try?
Thanks
If you post your current configuration (spl, recovery, radio, ...) here, it would be easier to give you a hint. ...

SPL:1.33.0013d
Radio:2.22.27.08
Recovery: RA-dream-v1.7.0
ROM: Non-Sense (1.5)
That's strange, because I would say with these specs a standard ROM should not boot and all newer ones supporting the 0013d/2708 combo should
I would do a
Code:
fastboot erase system -w
and then flash a ROM which supports the 0013d/2708 combo (e.g. FBL or ezGingerbread/ADS_Magpie/IcedADS_Magpie). Not sure, if you have cmtd installed. ezGingerbread has autoMTD included, so independently whether it's installed or not, it should boot.
Quite annoyingly after posting those details I tried again and it booted 2.3 fml!
