One click lag fix - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to use the one click lag fix. But its unavailable and it keeps saying that I do not have a
system/bin/playlogo file... How do I fix this? And what is that file anyway?

Its better if you didn't, it sounds appealing that it'll get rid of all the lag on the phone with one click, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. If you want to get rid of lag on the phone install one of the latest jpx or jpy roms.

So we can cause more problems with the phone then we need to? Just answer the OP's question.

Hit the "Restore Boot Animation" button. That should do the trick.

I'm running the cognition rom from designgears.. And I'm rooted

When i was running it a long time ago it didn't really cause any problems, except for that "your sdcard space is low" message, but it didn't solve any lag problems either.

Cognition already has a proper lagfix installed, voodoo, stop trying to install oclf.

But I only hit 1600 on quadrant standards.... I use to hit up to 2100

DONT USE QUADRANT!!
The OCLF tricks Quadrant into giving it a much higher score than it should really give because of the way the lagfix is set up.
The quadrant score you are getting now is perfectly normal with voodoo. And also, in REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE, voodoo is MUCH better than OCLF.

If all you care about is quadrant scores then install setiron's kernel with jfs/ext2 loopback, you'll get these scores...

to tell a guy not to use quadrant is ridiculous.
no it is not realistically showing real performance, but at least explain why.

Quadrant is specifically designed for other processors/hardware. (i.e. Snapdragon processors)
Samsung like everything else is different - with the Hummingbird processor your not getting a "true" reading as Quadrant isn't optimized for our type of phones.
So you can get readings all over the map.... The only way to truly know how your phone is running with a lagfix applied is to use it.. does it seem "snappy"?
And... just to prove a point. I was running the OTA JH7 Stock 2.1 Eclair ROM with just Root and the OCLF and was getting scores close to 1900-2000 with Quadrant.

same problem
hi, i have an S2 I9100P, Siyah kernel 5.01, ICS 4.0.4 AND I HAVE NEVER FLASHED THE ROM. I've installed the OCLF, ext2 tools too, and when i hit one click lag fix v2.2+ it tells me the same error (missing playlogo file!).... then i've read here that if i hit the restore bootlogo it will work, i've done this too but it fails cause i don't have eclair or froyo (not sure what does this mean). Finally do you have a solution for this? Thanks in advance, have a great day!

1) You posted in a two year old dead thread
2) You're using the app on a phone other then what it was intended for
3) Eclair and Froyo were Android 2.1 and 2.2, respectively.
4) You should really go to the Galaxy S2 forums to ask, but I'm pretty sure you don't need a lagfix anymore for any reason.

Not sure why u posted in the Captivate forum instead of a forum for your phone...and also not sure why u would want to try the oclf with ur s2.
I would suggest to just get Root access and then remove all the bloatware off of your phone. That should be a huge improvement of performance for ur phone.

Gingerbread on thrill with H+ and possible 4G

Ok, so I finally have gingerbread installed on my thrill and I decided to use CallMeAria's trick on configuring the flex file with root explorer. After making the changes I noticed the H+ icon as well as the 5 bar signal meter. I ran a speed test with pretty good results. Not sure if this was done right, but it seems to work for me. The weird thing is the signal meter was showing no bars when I got that download speed.

I wish I knew exactly how I flashed the baseband, but the truth is it was just trial and error. I first flashed the GB rom with no radio and it just hangs on the LG logo. Then removed the battery, sim card, and SD card and with the LG flash tool open and in the ready mode, I plugged in my phone while holding the volume up button. This seemed to work for me.

Explain which part? I followed the directions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331814 to load the baseband and then installed Acura's rom after. Then I used root explorer to edit the flex file as explained here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293947 . This will screw up your apn stuff and not let you connect, so what I did next was use ApnBackupRestore app to delete the stored apn's on the phone and restore the one in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1333587 . Make sure you backup the phones apn's before deleting them, in case you need to restore them.
The only thing I've noticed with this is my signal meter barely works. Only a few times it shows I have only one bar, usually it doesn't show any bars but I still have great download speeds and phone works great.

Ok, how did you flash the baseband? It asks for a ROM to go along with the .FLS file. Which ROM did you download and use? Or is there another trick? I couldnt get the .FLS to flash without selecting a DLL.
I try but not working for me...
And I also have GB with Acura Rom... Im ok anyway as is, I get 4MB download and 1 up here in Puerto Rico...

Couldn't get it to work but it was kind of a long shot to begin with cuz I'm using vista, I tried in linux using virtual winxp also but w/ no luck, it sees the omap4430 for a sec then it sais its disconnected and since its vista it installs some drivers automatically, after that I changed the com port and got port one "ready" but when I unplug and plug it back in it doesn't recognize the phone. Hi,
I first bricked my phone by using Odin with bad files(I9100 files). and the Icons (Computer - Danger - Phone) displays on phone and odin was recogized my phone.
Unfortunately, I wrongly use Odin OneClick Downloader to fix the problem, and after a green error on phone, my phone goes to sleep, and nothing is displaying and odin does not recognize it.
Riff Jtag for I9100g is used on my phone but it seems that riff box doesn't work on I9100g yet. and the problem is not solved.
Please Help me.
Does any one knows that what Odin OneClick downloader done to my phone?

Odin OneClick? I Google around, this tool seems is for Samsung Captivate, not for i9100G.
Did Odin One-Click (not the normal odin3) still can detect your phone? if yes, maybe you can try search around it full function.
Or else I think you probably need send over to Samsung service center.
Next time please read more before playing around with it, you 1st mess with i9100 ROM to i9100G then you mess again using Odin One-Click which basically for captivate. Two step you did is not for i9100G.

1. "HARDCORE" -> (Battery++) ===> Download!
2. "ULTRA" -------> (Battery+++) => Download!
3. HARDCORE3Boost! -> actual version! (Battery+++++)
ADVICE:
I recommend to use the second .zip-File. It's tested a lot and works fine and stable.
Have a try!
HOW TO INSTALL:
Create a Backup before flashing these file(s).
Just load and flash the .zip you want to try...
... then reboot!
Now your battery will be strong as Superman, or other people like that!
Notice:
If you don't want to flash the "All inclusive"-zip, you could
- Load the .profil-file (click right, save...)
- Rename it into "default.profile" (delete the name at the beginning)
-> Then move the "default.profile"-script into "data/.siyah" folder (replace the existing script / Explorer must be set on R/W)
=> Reboot
Here are the links for the three scripts.
Get HARDCORE
Get ULTRA
Get HARDCORE3Boost!
Tested by using:
-AOKP Resurrection JB v3.0.6.1
-CM10 Jelly Bean
-WanamLite 2.1
-StockROM
-Omega 11
-SlimICS Rom
-CheckROM Evo HD V4
-Hawkish Premium HD
-FoxHound 1.4.3
One thing you should know:
The result of benchmarks (like Antutu or Quadrant) could get worse by using one of these scripts, but benchmark doesn't show how nice is your phone truly.
I think it's more important to use a smooth and well working system which gains more battery-life than your friend's S3, which isn't "clever tweaked". :good:
Best wishes
and thanks a lot for you feedback (it is necessary to create stuff like that)

Hi,
Thanks,

But when you click on "HARDCORE" Dropbox shows "defaut.profile", a bit confusing... And it's the "defaut.profile" we have...

I agree, and I apologize if it caused a problem, I mostly meant for you to look at the script as a whole as it has some unique approaches.
but if you have a phone that isnt capable of that step it won't (shouldn't anyway) be able to apply it. And to tell you the truth I kinda forgot OC was in there.. I don't usually OC and that was there for a kernel I wassl testing.
Again, apologies, was just trying to share

And actually this is not script, it's just pre configured stweaks profile file.

This is not script, this is just stweks apps config file.
Thanks for sharing your profile, yes it would be good to put some "warning" in the OP as there are people that never do backups before trying new settings original mods, however this is XDA and everything is known to be used under our own risk.
The hardcore profile is nice, but I prefer less UV to avoid possible Sleep of Death states

On the Thrill? What Baseband are you using to get signal? And what about 3G? HSPA?

Hello people, i been running ics on my thrill for most of the day. I have signal and 3g data working. Full bar signal at that. Im not a developer, so probably just luck i guess. But these are the steps i took in flashing so maybe someone can figure it out. First i flash rom (bin) then the baseband (fls) i extracted from xbsall rar file. I flash them both using p920.dll. It booted and ran but like others i had no signal or data. So then i flash v20a baseband using p920h.dll. And when i booted it gave me signal but it was just edge. Next i flashed v20e, booted and it to bootloops. Power it off, and reflash v20a again. And when it booted this time bingo.. 3g... the last to flashes i used p920h.dll dont know if that did it or not... hopes this helps

im so confused on how to flash LGP920AT-00-V18a-AMA-XXX-OCT-28-2011+0_CP.fls
do i add it along with the bin or do i flash it one by one?? because i done both and every time i got ics to work on the phone and try to flash the baseband i can't get the phone to connect to LG flash tool hell after ics is installed i can't even get to download mode, when I try it just goes to the charging blue battery screen and never connects...... this is truly frustrating because i never had to flash basebands like this and i have no choice but to go back to GB just so i can make and receive calls :crying:
This is what i do to get it to flash, take the battery out of the phone. Unplug my usb cord from both my phone and pc. Click on arrow to start flash. Port 1 will say ready. Now while holding down the up volume key plug my usb cord into the phone, then i put the battery back in(still holding down the down the up volume buttom). Then plug the other end of the usb cord into my pc. After 2 or 3 seconds u here connecting sound, then u can finally release volume up key. All baseband(clfs) will error out around 20% or more. Thats normal. Thats mean it done. Unplug usb and reboot phone... = ics.... hope this helps...

Flashing problem
I did all the procedures to flash my Thrill, but I get the following FAIL message.
Does anyone knows why is this??
I tried in win7 and XP. I used the p920.dll and the p920h.dll.
It does flash baseband, but I can not flash the .bin file.
After installing all wing can return the original version

Also a huge thanks the Matt Groff for the help!
Really though, THANK MATT!!!! He is the reason why my stuff gets fixed after I break it lol.
*Please note that 1.5 is still beta, focused on fixing lag issues caused by Moto scripts. I also added in 1% battery mod (thank youngunn). Please leave all feedback on thread and if you need help PM me.
Please think about offering up some money. With a bootloader unlocked Joker (and all other roms) could be so much better. Here is the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164525
Any features that make this different from Batakang? What kind of theming? I'm looking for a custom ROM but haven't found one yet as this forum is barebones empty.

Yes it will get AT&T 4g LTE. Batakang is also themed more than mine. Mine has custom boot animation, non carrier branded in the top left corner, and new launcher, background, ect.

As SirHoover said, the main thing was getting a ROM out to users who want/need AT&T LTE. My Verizon DROID RAZR HD based BatakangROM can't do that.
thanks a lot
is there another way to flash this? I mean SS3 needs root access, and currently dont have, I'm stuck at JB
Nice to see another custom rom around. Thanks,sir..

Just installed it. Stuck on the boot screen, which is great btw. Will let it go a little longer, but I'm not sure where I went wrong. Installed SS3, made an rom slot, made it active, installed the rom and gapps, then rebooted. I've given it some time but I'm going to try and reboot back to stock if I can't this up and running

Stock side is ICS and rooted. I know that your rom needed us to be on JB, but I did not see anything in Joker's OP. It makes sense though, that we'd have to be. But since it wasn't in the OP, I didn't do it. I follow instructions. Lol.
UPDATE: Followed instructions on how to install JB Leak. Reinstalled recovery from SS3 and everything is working like a charm. Thanks Joker!
