[Q] aosp 2.1? i havent found it...

I was looking for an aosp 2.1 for my cdma hero. cant seem to find it... just a straight up vanilla, white taskbar, vanilla lockscreen, vanilla messages app, etc, etc.
anyone got anything for me? thank you thank you

thanks. his 2.8 doesnt seem to be for me though. im not looking for modifications by the community and what not, just want to try a straight google 2.1 for a bit. if it doesnt exist, then excuse my naivety.
really all i want is a stock rom, like nfinite's, with vanilla lock and vanilla taskbar. yeah i got the 3G icon and the vanilla four bars setup but i want that vanilla taskbar. i tried nfinites deodex version and attempted to put the vanilla taskbar on it with the vanilla lock but it wouldnt work.

Try browsing the Themes and Apps section -- there are several AOSP-looking themes and mods in there.
The one down in my signature (Leukay's Oreo Theme) adds the AOSP taskbar and a couple other menu changes to a stock Sense ROM. I know it works in nfinitefx45's ROM cuz I'm using it right now. Give it a shot.
And if you search in the nfinitefx45 Stock ROM thread, there are many posts about some people being able to get the vanilla lockscreen working on it too.

Anything you get here is going to be modified by someone. Your phone was shipped with a black taskbar, Sense UI, and Sense only apps. In order to modify the look of it, it will have to be modified. If you want the stock android apps you can find those and then push them to your phone.
Darch's 2.8 is vanilla android, which is what I thought you wanted.
Hell, forget 2.1, go download and flash CM6. Much better than 2.1.

[Q] Custom Battery Icons?

I am having trouble finding a nice battery notification icon to replace the stock one for the current rom I am running...could someone please lead me in the right direction. I have a G1 running the latest SparksMod Rom.

[Q] Complete n00b wants 2.2 Froyo

Hey guys. I'm a newbie here, so bear with me. I just rooted my CDMA Hero with this awesome little tutorial:

And I just flashed my first ROM by using this package here:
xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731951
Both have gone off without a hitch, although the ROM is still loading, and its taking some time... I was a little scared, but now I feel pretty confident. I suppose my question is, I am looking to get Froyo on my Hero. The ROM I flashed showed v2.2.1 on the post, but I am under the impression that is the ROM version, not the Android Version.
Any help, direction, or suggestions?
XDA did not not suggest any similar titles to my subject, so sorry if there is a similar title somewhere, I didnt see one...

Correct, 2.2.1 is just the ROM version of NFX Hero. That still runs Sense 2.1. Currently the only way you can get 2.2 sense is with the Aria Froyo port, but Zenulator and others are building another one based off the HTC Glatia.
If you want pretty stable Froyo, try CyanogenMod 6.1.0-RC1
It doesn't have Sense, but that is not an issue for me. Might be to you.

Hey Everyone:
I just have a simple question. I am running a Telus Fascinate with Darky's 9.5 and would like to install a custom theme. Are themes phone specific (ie. Telus Fascinate or I9000 or Vibrant) or are they based on either Froyo, Gingerbread, etc??? Everything to do with my phone seems difficult and I am not sure if themes are this way also. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated..

Yeah themes vary from rom to rom, android version to android version. So to answer your question yes themes are phone/rom/android version specific. So I would advise you to seek out themes based on your rom of choice for your device. Happy flashing

I am new to rooting and flashing custom roms, However I found a real cool rom for my old HTC Dinc i think it was called satin666 but not sure was curions if anyone is working on a similiar one or knows of one fro the Bionic running eclipse 3.0. It had a flamming skull boot animation (with evil laugh and the clock numers looked like flames) any help on finding or Making a similar onr for the bionic would be greatly appreciated.

I am sure if you can find the link to the OG ROM that you had there might be someone out here willing to give it a try on porting or creating a theme for the Bionic.
