Also, make sure you stop by jdanisevich's thread, Slightly Better Gingerbread, and look at all the awesome modifications he's done for Nero 3
Voodoo 5.0.4 Details:
- Supports small/larger nand chips
- Converts full system partition to ext4 (nexus s uses ext4 files system. theres a reason samsung dropped our crap rfs system...it sucks! ext4 is amazing)
- Incredibly fast, solid, and stable. Much better than rfs or ext2 file system
- Disable voodoo directly via clock work recovery
Installing Nero v3 w/voodoo 5.0.4:
1. Place nero_3_voodoo.zip on internal sdcard
2. Disable ANY and ALL other lagfixes (yes, this includes ext2 one click lagfix! You cannot run both)
3. Reboot into clock work recovery via rom manager or manually
4. Select 'install zip from sdcard'

6. Select 'Nero_3_voodoo.zip'
7. Select 'Yes - install Nero_3_voodoo.zip'

11. Done!
Enable Voodoo:
1. On your internal sdcard, you will find a voodoo folder containing a file called 'disable-lagfix'. This was pre-installed when you flashed. Find it.
2. Delete the 'disable-lagfix' file from the voodoo folder.
3. Reboot intor clockwork recovery
4. Select 'voodo lagfix'
5. Select 'enable lagfix'
6. reboot
7. You phone will now convert to a full ext4 file system, this will take about 4 minutes. Be patient!
9. Phone will boot up and you're done!
Disable Voodoo:
1. Reboot into clock work recovery via power menu options, terminal, or adb to get to the 'red' clockwork screen
2. In CWR menu, select 'voodoo lagfix'
3. Select 'disable lagfix'
4. Select 'go back'
5. Select 'reboot system now'
6. Your file system will now be converted back to rfs. This will take about 2-4 minutes, be patient!

3. Reboot intor clockwork recovery
4. Select 'voodo lagfix'
5. Select 'enable lagfix'
6. reboot
Do you mean the green clockwork recovery or do you mean clockwork recovery app that you access through drawer? i ask because i couldn't get voodoo to work on v2 for the life of me (no linda voice or red recovery)
EDIT: Found the solution! For those that cannot get Voodoo to work, even after deleting the disable-voodoo file:

I have had this problem. I also had a hell of a time getting voodoo to work. What I did was format both sdcards under settings. Odin to Eugene JK2, install OCLF>under menu goto kernels>and under voodoolagfix/ hold down and force it. This flashed a beta 4 i9000 kernal with voodoo and then I heard Lynda talk. Then it bricks but it fixed whatever the problem was with voodoo not not working. Afterwards I Odin to JK2 again and CWM Nero, and Odin JK6 voodoo kernel. So now Im on Nero 1 w/voodoo. Bro I hope this helps.

I used OCLF 2.2.8 which is not on the market (simple google search will bring up the .apk)
It takes a while but I finally got Voodoo to work!

If coming from V2 does one need to disable voodoo? I know you should probably always disable before flashing, but since its cooked in I wanted to ask...possibly save a few minutes

Green Recovery = No Voodoo Options. Red Recovery = Available after Voodoo successfully installed.
There is no clockworkmod recovery in the app drawer, you're probably thinking of ROM Manager which can be used to flash Clockworkmod recovery onto your phone.
You can just leave it disabled if you decide you don't want to use it / can't figure it out.
15 Minutes ago I just reflashed to NeroV2 + Voodoo + JL5...now V3 launched..
AMAZING..!!! Surely want to spend my time again to try this version run on my vibrant.
Two thumbs up for TW. Great work.
Hey Sombionix, sooo, is this a rom? Riiiight?
Just a reminder. Don't forget to use the "Thanks" button where applicable instead. Let's try keep this thread more free of clutter. Mobile users can use a browser that shows the "Thanks" button instead of the currently limited XDA app if all they want to do is say Thanks, flashing now, I just flashed this, etc.

I deleted the disable-voodoo file and still get the blue recovery (which i click reinstall packages) which leads me to the green recovery screen.. any ideas?
Is there anyway to add back battery full notification?
Just flashed to Nero v3. Extremely fast as stated but I miss the nice transition pop-ups, where the menu bubbles kinda rotate and flip onto the screen. Maybe it's just me since it states that the Nexus S transition menus are included so.. who knows. Great rom anyways!
Wi-Fi calling?
Any chance of getting wi-fi calling added? No reception in my house otherwise...
Maybe I missed it in the current build listing.
Using Nero beta 2 still.
Very fast and solid.
TY for the great work!
Cheers!

do you have the link for the front facing camera version of the camera app?
this is the only ting that your rom is missing for me :/
I keep forgetting to say this: Why do all Nero ROMs come with OCLF that is Version 2.2.8, when 2.3.1 is available?
*Edit: Was this because the new version took out the ability to root?

Here you go! the zip folder contains the i9000 camera apk and firmware. I pulled it from the first version of Nero v1. It works great for me since I have FFC mod.

If you haven't flashed yet, just replaced the files located in the /system/app with these 2 files. It will over-write it.
If you already flashed then adb push command is the only way I see.
Anyone has other solution you're welcome to add on since I am not an expert in this field.

the reason is because that version of OCLF is the version that was put in there that works with Whiskey's roms. using or updating others i beleive will screw it up.

Optional Download: blue segmented battery mod (flash through clockwork, will not wipe. ONLY compatible with bionix and fusion roms!)
Known issues:
(RESOLVED)
Download: Bionix Final SSL certificate fix (this fixes the issues with going to secured sites. As far as I know, this was the only bug.)
I have not added this fix into the rom files yet, so after you flash the rom, you need to reboot into recovery and flash this fix. Its a flashable.zip and WILL NOT wipe your data. DISABLE VOODOO FIRST!
Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Disable Voodoo Lag Fix -
This step only applies to those of you who are currently using the Voodoo lag fix. If you are not currently using Voodoo, please move onto step 3 for final installation instructions. If you are using an ext2 lag fix such as Ryans, you can simply flash on top.
1. Download the attached 'disable-voodoo.zip' flashable deactivator.
2. Load file onto your internal sdcard
3. Reboot into clockwork recovery and select 'install zip from sdcard'.
4. Select 'choose zip from sdcard' and locate the deactivator file.
5. Select the file and flash.
6. Reboot phone and proceed to step 3 of the installation instructions.
Step 2: Nandroid Backup -
Before you perform ANY modifications, you should always perform a nandroid backup. The nandroid backup will allow you to step backwards and restore your previous settings in the event the unthinkable happens. To perform a nandroid please follow these steps.
1. Reboot via Rom Manager to Clockwork Recovery, or use 'adb reboot recovery'.
2. Using the volume up and down keys, highlight nandroid and press the power button to select.
3. Select backup, this will take some time depending on the volume of your data. Be patient!
Step 3: Flash Bionix Fusion
This is the final step of the installation. This presumes you are already rooted and ready to go. If you are not, then you will need to root and install rom manager first.
1. Download the rom of your choice and place the file onto the root of your internal sdcard.
2. Reboot into Clockwork Recovery.
- From Rom Manager app, select 'boot into clockwork recovery'
- From ADB, type 'adb reboot recovery'.
3. From the main clockwork recovery menu, use the 'down' volume control to scroll to 'install zip from sdcard'. Press the power button. this will take you to a second menu screen.
4. From thet second menu screen, scroll to 'choose zip from sdcard' and select with the power button.
5. Scroll to the file name of the rom you downloaded and press the power button. It will ask you to confirm your choice, select 'yes' and the rom will begin to flash. DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PHONE DURING THIS PROCESS!
6. Once the flash is complete, select 'go back'. Now select 'reboot' from this menu.
7. Allow your phone to reboot completely. The first boot will take a few minutes, please be patient.
8. Once booted into the home screen, please allow your phone to sit for 5-10 minutes to allow all boot procedures to take place. Keep in mind, you've just heavily modified your device, it needs time to adjust to the new changes.
9. Wait roughly 15 minutes after the first initial boot and then restart your phone one time. You may do this by holding the 'power button' and selecting either shut down or reboot.
10. At this point, if you are running an overclock kernel, you will need to download setcpu and adjust your clock speeds. You need to be sure your minimum clock speed is set to 200mhz. Optimal settings are 200/1200.
Enable OCLF EXT2 LagFix: (Optional)
1. Open OCLF
2. Install EXT2 tools
3. Restore boot animation
4. Select OneClickLagFix V2.2
5. Your phone will reboot - DONE!

To use, put somewhere in your SD card. Go into the options menu in Launcher Pro and select Appearance Settings and change the bar to custom, find the bar in the gallery.
Next, when you change the icons, select custom icon and find the icon you wish to use from the SD card.
This is a limited sample and for demo purposes only, support the designer! http://www.dreamlyfe.xtreemhost.com/
It includes several commonly used buttons and the offset DreamLyfe bar in Grey. It does come centered and offset and the grey line in several different colors. For that, you have to visit the website and buy DreamLyfe

For support reasons Voodoo isnt a preconfigured option, the ROM is STILL voodoo compatible but is an installation at your own risk and supported in the Voodoo thread.

I do LIKE voodoo, but at this time too many people are exploding their phones with it to recommend its use en masse. Savvy users will be able to continue to install and use.
RyanZAs One Click Lag Fix is good for beginners that would like a lag fix option.
Look for a Fusion custom kernel in the near future for which will support OC/UV and potentially the zMod RFS conversion.
So viral, what are you currently using? I want to be as close as I can to the same set up you guys use for your phones. I know sim uses the 1.3 oc kernal from kk, how about you?

The problem people keep having is that they don't know what they're doing. So they try to restore or flash a new ROM with voodoo still enabled and wonder what went wrong. It was a problem people keep mentioning on Bionix forum. That's why they removed the option here. People who know what they're doing, just have to flash the kernel on JAC's post and your set.

So far soo good. I have been only texting myself lol but it vibrates fine and sends MMS fine. I havent encountered the blank messaging screen yet and i have been running through it quite a bit. All seems well. just gonna run some more tests with other kernels to see what I like best. So far for the performance/good battery the stock JL1 with voodoo5 has been my favorite with Nero b3.
Messaging is black and white again, is it the default one? Can we have the stock mms from Samsung?

Thanks, I think the OP should always include SS of the new rom. It seems like this rom doesn't have battery mod :-( ?
I understand the better performance of Nero v1 but i am just so nostalgic about Beta 3 look.. the notification bar, the messaging app, and the boot up screen especially
Looks like we're off to a good start. For those who don't already know, this thread is following the new suggestion from the town meeting:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871476
Another suggestion:
If you want to say "Thanks" (or similar) to the OP, use the provided button. If you need to post such comments like "Thanks", "Downloading now!", etc (if that's all you want to say) instead merely click the "Thanks" button alone. It will reduce clutter and increase the readability of this thread. That's what I plan to do if I decide to try it. Again, it's merely a suggestion for keeping things clean while this thread is still fairly short.
For those that are asking about the Haptic feedback, the OP says it's working (for the keyboard, at least).
Any way to have this Rom uploaded to a Hosting site?
For some reason I've been getting horrible speeds off the server.
1076B/Sec - 22 hours left!
Thanks!
Ahh, I just installed beta3 lastnight. Guess I can put this in before I get all into beta3. many thanx, having a lot of fun with my new phone after years of windows mobile crap.
Is OCLF supposed to now work in team whiskey's roms? And then, if not, why is it included? On that note... any word on the ULF kernel? I've been trying to find one with decent battery life but that hasn't happened yet.

Note: It is Highly Recommended that you Wipe before installing Liberty 1.5 even if you have 1.0 installed.
Liberty is tested and supported on only 320/340 droid X’s.
Liberty is the result of a collaboration between Kejar31 and Jrummy16. The base and apps from this ROM are the continuation of GummyJAR’s base while the scripts and toolbox are the continuation of Rumm’s tools. Together Liberty is a evolution in the DroidX/2 ROM scene.

Glad to see this out and about in the open. Quick question though; did you make it so you can manually set custom overclocks at boot?
Bugfixes are always a nice addition to see in as well.
What is Cytown Phone? I saw the application for G1, but never found a droid x version.

I am so excited and depressed at the same time. I am so excited to see the next update for Liberty and I am depressed because I gotta wait a couple of hours until I get home to install the latest version. I might try and download it over 3g but for some reason I don't trust doing it that way. Would much rather download over wifi and we don't have that here at work.
just installed 1.0 last night, for my buddy. i have an evo but he has droid x. how do i know wat resolution hes got and why did it fc wen i tried to get into his liberty settings?
another question: i rooted his phone last night, whats the best recovery to use on droid x?
rooting n flashing for evos and droid x are basically the same process right??

I did it over 3g and it worked fine. I made sure to do a backup first. Not sure how much work you'll get done after you install it. I couldn't put my phone down last night till I passed out in my recliner.

Easy update over 1.0. No wipe needed. It's all good! Thanks JRs!
HRm.. seems like LP keeps FC. 3d gallery seems to be slower on 1.0 but i'm gonna roll back to stock .340 rooted and load this again. then restore all my apps and data and hope this fix's it. eww... as i was typing this i tried to remove some widgets and my phone re-booted.
I keep getting a force close on titanium back up when trying to restore apps (in batch mode, manually it works fine, but still force closes on some occasions)
You can get the correct size gingerbread keyboard from the market. It works like a charm.

Yep worked for me too! so glad i didnt have to go through installing and setting everything up all over again!
Ran into a small glitch after updating from 1.0 to 1.5 without wiping:
OC with JRummy's app did not work on boot. I toggled the module on and off and it's now working.
I factory wiped then installed Liberty 1.5 and I'm getting reboots every minute after booting. All by itself reboots. If I try and use an app...reboots. going to wipe and flash again.
What really sucks is that it doesn't even give me enough time to download and install bootstrap! I'm just stuck in bootloops and not around a PC I can use. Any suggestions?
Sweet.
Glad Ringtones are finally fixed. Was driving me batty!
I'm also getting FC's on LauncherPro. I wonder what's causing the incompatibility.

nice work,I’m using your SenseDroid V8 now,and it works very will, I will try this rom ASAP. THX
Installed TwizDroid and is it just me or does it seem faster than SenseDroid V8?
Jerry, how long should the battery last on this build?
Very impressive ROM! Awesome!!! Thank you jerrytan93!
Hi Jerry, can you confirm the battery charging status? I've plugged in the charger but don't see it charging. I've tested plugging the charger in WinMo and then booting into TwizDroid and the result is ok!

I'm using Turbo kernel in this build, so it will have the charging problem if you dint plug in charger before booting Android. If you want to change kernel with fully working charging then you can change Midnight's kernel or XDAndroid's kernel.
About the battery life, I can't really test it properly due to my old battery.. (fully discharge too much while running Android before)
Thank you for this new ROM, for me the best so far
1. Feels smooth and stable
2. Wifi, GPS, BT working OK
2. Nice new font and launcher
3. More free memory (116 MB)
4. Battery life seems to be a bit better
5. Faster unlock screen and gallery
Not working for me:
- network location (via GPRS network) in maps
- Angry birds crash to launcher
If kernel will improve, this could be a candidate for nand version
Congrats, your job is magnificent.
I've tried the rom and I have a doubt. Have you noticed that Market (old versión) continue updating despite of disable the updater? I couldn't check it in the new version because it's the last. It is so strange.
On the other hand, I had a problem between v3.3.11 and wifi. The new version disable the wifi interface and you have to turn on again to download anything from the Market.
great job jerry
I am impressed

The older version of Market should not have any problem with disabling the updater, I had tested by my own and no problem with it.
The latest Market had a interference with the Wifi, sometimes is because you are downloading too many apps at once, but anyway I think this is the reason you had change back your Market in GoDroid to v2.12 am I right?

This ROM has been tested on a Bell's Raider but I assume it will work on any Raider/Vivid/Holiday as they are almost exactly the same except for LTE bands.
Disclaimer:
This ROM is entirely made by me, nobody has helped me atm, I've just used some mods from other devs, credits are already there. I've been working on this ROM for the past week, at the moment of the first ROM, since Football posted the RUU leak.
I'm not responsible if you break your device by trying to flash this ROM. Please read the Useful Threads before trying to flash this ROM or in case you are not an advanced user. Here in XDA, there are plenty of helpful users that can assist you if you have any trouble or doubt.
If you like my work and the ROM please rate this thread with 5 stars (or whatever starts you think it deserves)
This is my first ROM I've ever created!!! So please don't be that bad at me
I wanted to post my ROM once I have at least CRT On/Off animations... but I can't stand it anymore!!!
Let's see how much time will others devs need to copy some of my features to their ROMs

Instructions to Flash ROM
BEFORE YOU CONTINUE READ THIS!!!
Your Raider/Vivid/Holiday must have the bootloader unlocked.
You need CWM Recovery v5.0.2.7 or the new v5.5.0.4 already flashed. This won't work with the new recovery... yet...
You MUST flash this kernel, otherwise the ROM WON'T BOOT!!!
WARNING: The flashing script DOES a FULL WIPE, this means it formats system, data and cache partitions. You MUST backup everything you want/need with Titanium Backup or your preferred backup app.
If you don't know how to do it go to the Useful Threads located on the OP
1. Enter into CMW Recovery
2. Turn ON USB Mass Storage
3. Copy ROM Zip to Internal SD Card
4. Go to Home Screen on Recovery
5. Chose "install zip from sdcard" press power button or home key
6. Chose "choose zip from sdcard" press power button or home key
7. With Vol- key go to "VJRaider_x.x.x.zip" press power button or home key
8. With Vol- key go to "Yes - Install VJRaider_x.x.x.zip"
9. Wait till the install finish.
10. Press back key until home screen
11. Choose "reboit system now"
11. Press power button or home key to reboot system
12. Wait and enjoy the boot animation
13. First boot takes about 5 mins, this is because dalvik-cache is being created
14. Once you are in the lock screen, let the ROM settle for about 5 more minutes before unlock it You can skip this now
15. After this 5 minutes Unlock the screen and finish the setup wizard.
16. Enjoy the ROM

I haven't had any since my last flash yesterday night right before I posted the ROM, so I'm still waiting for it to happen again so I can take a look on it.
Flashing now! Will report on any issues.

Can you solve this with a battery pull?

Yes you can, even with an "abd shell reboot" you can reboot your phone.

Unfortunately the phone kept freezing after I tried accessing any app and I had to keep doing battery pulls. Reverting back to Holicakes for the time being.
Maybe you could team up with PirateGhost and combine ROMS, which would amazing!! I know there are a lot of users that love the RumRaider rom, but still want the Amaze camera. Just a thought.

Did you let the system settle after first boot on lock screen for about 5 mins?
It's funny, I have the exact same behavior on Holicakes, I can't do anything on it.
Where's the download link for the rom

No I did not. I will re-try flashing tonight and see what happens.

Wanted to try this rom for the camera. Flashed kernel ok. Got an emmc error while trying to flash the rom using the suggested cwm revision.
Went to restore my nand backup made just prior. It says it restored ok. When I try to boot, it hangs on the HTC screen with the white background. Pulled battery and tried again. No joy.
Any suggestions on next step?

Can you please post the message of the emmc error? Are you sure you have CWM 5.0.2.7 and not 5.5.0.4??? The zip is for 5.0.2.7 I'll make v0.0.2 for 5.5.0.4.
You need to revert to stock kernel, that's why you are hanging on the HTC bootscreen. CWM Backup doesn't backup boot partition as we don't have S-Off yet.
Would love to
But that screen is long gone and I didn't write it down. Sorry. It was something like:
Error: emmc
Status 1
I was definitely on the correct cwm recovery.
Well that's weird, maybe you can wait for v0.0.2, I'm working on fixing the SoD.
