very nice, but the point is: we still don't have a custom recovery full working in order to flash a custom rom........
Depends if anyone of the MIUI team gets/wants to port it over. Might be able to make a request over at their forum?

It's available here.
No need to do anything fancy.... Simply copy the .apk file to your phone and install like any other .apk file.
It does not mess with the stock player either.
Tried it and it works on the Tab.
Note: Lyrics works too. They are automatically downloaded as soon as you select the title track.
@Beards:
That's only the Music Application. What we want, it's the whole MIUI ROM for our Galaxy Tab!
I tried 3times to register on the MIUI-dev forum but i never received the validation mail. So i can't post anything or create a thread =/

i had just looked the video of miui rom
it's very cool man
is there a way for galaxy tab to get the miui rom?
i really want it
i don't see any special about miui rom , we got Overcome and they provide the best to our GSM tabs and we got honeycomb in progress for GSM and CDMA .. and the best thing is , if its depend about they way your tab looks just go play with the firmwork and SystemUI and create your own design .. thats wat i did . to satisfy myself ~~

Some people (including myself) don't like stock roms. Yeah Overcome is great, but it's just stock.
And there isn't afaik a MIUI rom being developed for our Tabs.
I've made, and am still making, a MIUI theme for our Tabs. its nothing special yet but its still a wip. Feel free to try it and give feedback

Up until a couple of days ago, I would have agreed wholeheartedly with Kosh. Then I installed Miui on my Sgs2. Now.......I want Miui on everything. I see why people like it so much.
(I still have no idea why people are so gungho about Sense though).
i think spacemouse is also under develope of miui rom to be port in tab, its written on his honeycomb thread, so lets just wait a lil bit...
Since I've tried a Galaxy S running MIUI rom, I've begun to really like it. I wish that it'll be ported to our Tab.

Ive gone over to the villainrom for the moment(2.3.4 was too alluring to ignore), i really liked 1.7.1 miui, but the 1.7.8 build just has too many bugs for now. But it was still extremely slick, much slicker than stock or the other custom roms.
It would be nice to see miui's effect on the tab... cant hardly wait.

Erm....go have a look at the dell streak forums. One dev. thats it.(at least there was until march when I sold my streak). I remember we would get excited when dell released a broken stock rom....
Quality, not quantity. I have the sgs2, which has tons of devs. Only 3-4 decent roms though. The rest are themed-stock-roms.
We have 4-5 sets of talented devs for the tab. More than some devices.
P.S. any news on miui port for tab? still ongoing or abandoned?

CM6 is fairly usable at beta2 in my opinion. A few quirks are still there which take a sec to work around (like changing the sdcard location so ROM manager- --> install ROM fails but their clockwork recovery works).
However, wifi/ gps/ a number of other things now works....

Darlow, I must admit my favourite parts of your themes are your custom spinners. Another awesome theme (must be cause your Canadian too).
Also, just a quick question, is there anyway to port a mdpi theme to a hdpi device? There's a glorious theme by the name of Minimal Matte in the general theme forum but it's mdpi. I don't even mind doing the porting myself, as long as it's possible.
How do you get simi clock to show the days of the week like that?

It may be as easy as putting the mdpi files in the hdpi folder, I can try that tonight. Just, everyone seems so interested in porting themes the other way.
darlow, this theme looks outstanding! It gets old seeing all the dark/black themes.
if you ever get the urge to port it over for perception, i'd be eternally grateful.
about to be using your red soul theme for lack of this one
I'd love to see a port for Assonance!!
I'd love to start work on a white theme like this for Perception. I'm rather new to the android scene though, so if anyone would be willing to help out beyond the basics listed in these forums, I think we could put together something nice with influence from this and the original Avalon themes.

I knew someone would say that. Alot of stuff actually and if you were to try it you would see.

I think what really differentiates these ROMs is the customization. If it's still just stock Touchwiz, I doubt we'd notice any difference.
But good job. Maybe when you have a custom theme or post some screenshots

So this is basically a faster version off stock KL1 or KMM? I really wonder if it is possible to do a stock Google 3.2 for this...touchwiz just messes it up.
Anyway good work though. Seems a bit faster.

Who rated this 1 star... Probably some idiot who hasn't even tried it. .__.
Awesome. Thank you to the probably 5 people who tried it actually out of the 396. Thanks.
Sweet. Another 1 star vote. I should just have this thread deleted. Thanks to everyone for supporting me and telling me what to fix. /sarcasm. Maybe I should give up developing since nobody seems to like my ROMs.
Dude you dont need to be pissed off these people, actually the development of the tab roms is getting slow and you are the only one who posted the last two roms, a great job just by posting these thread to keep the development ongoing, probably the one that rated your rom 1 star is 10 year old kid mostly just trolling around.
All the best.
yeah man screw the haters and be patient with all the feedback as that Android 4.0 alpha has taken all the attention lately. Just giver a week or so with the holiday season and all.
Thanks guys. The reason I'm getting irritated at the raters is because it the rating is so low, people are just gonna be like "oh, 2 stars. Nah, I'm not gonna look at it."

Nice thanks Marcusant..Two things, I had written in the lengthy CM7 thread a couple of months ago that I had flashed a 9000 theme by XModz (orange, link below) and suffered no ill effects that I could notice, so this does not surprise me. I don't have the dev knowledge of say Marcusant so I didn't really know why it worked then or if there were actually issues that I coulnt detect from flashing the XModz 9000 theme but this is great. Also, I tried flashing several 9000 themes a few days ago (DaxINFINITI's themes) and in CWM I would get an error that sounded like it recoginized my phone wasn't an 9000 so it wouldn't flash the darn thing. Has that been fixed w/ a2 of our CM9 Build? Thx.

And there's a good reason for that. [EDIT] The checks for build numbers and phone device is DELIBERATE, not a bug. It will never be "fixed", because it's there for your protection. [/EDIT] There's no telling what kind of unknown bugs your themes may be introducing. It's a bad idea to propagate this - you're going to cause even more headaches for the CM team, from idiots flashing I9K themes, getting strange glitches, and going HUH?!?! in CM support resources.
Folks, as a power user, experienced ROM dev, and totally unappointed advocate for the CM team... don't flash themes from other devices, even if they "work". Port them, create your own - that's fine. But don't do this.

Thanks K. I was fully expecting trouble when doing it and had a good backup ready. I understand the checks are there for a good reason. I was hoping to point out that it doesn't work and not looking for a solution...lol.
Shane is having a heck of a time trying to figure out why backing up and restoring his ported theme causes the restore to get stuck at the boot ani. So far it is the only theme we got. It would be nice to get the hassle out of it. Was hoping another phone's theme might provide the answer but sadly no.
i got the black n white one to flash with some weird effects. first, i lost my status bar. i think that usually has to do with having a different battery mod. like if the theme has a 1% mod and your system uses 10%, stuff like that can happen. i believe the theme i flashed had a 1% mod, and i thought cm9 was 1% by default, but im probably wrong. i decided to see what would happen after a reboot and some more weird stuff happened. i had originally had the ice cream infusion theme on my phone, after i rebooted, i had some of the blue ice cream infusion icons, and some of the black n white ones. my status bar was still gone, my menus also wouldnt work, except for the nova launcher menu. so yeah, that was my experience with flashing a i9000 theme. i may try others if i find one i really like, its not a big deal for me to restore a backup. thanks for the info marcus, i would really try to remind others that this can cause some weird effects and crashes, and if they dont backup theyre gonna be upset, cuz it really seems like theres been fresh new herd of noobs added to the forum recently. seen alot of people complaining that this or that messed up their phone only to find they didnt read up on what they were doing and could have easily avoided the mistakes they made.

Good to hear I gotta say this is the FASTEST I have ever seen my vivid run.. but i am a PAC freak which sucks :/
Im also a PAC freak, I absolutely adore hybrid, but with all the added goodies of aokp and cm... Just delicious lol
I usually like to use SS Launcher too which is stupid customizable (but a resource hog I think) so running AoCP with the included launcher (aspire?) probably isn't a fair comparison but I'll say this ROM with crossbreeder is blazing fast!
So far stable too, as far as I can tell, but I haven't been doing too much with it

This theme I would say is the closest it could get to normal. I would add all the themes to the rom if i could
Sorry! I've been running this and wish I could change that myself
Bumping since it looks like nothing's been done since July ...
I noticed a couple of things on this ROM. Firstly, Wi-Fi appears to be broken. Cannot detect my home network even if I'm within three feet of the router. I'm not an expert by any means, so I wouldn't know the first thing about how to fix it.
Secondly, when attempting to change the lock screen security (slide, PIN, password, etc.), Settings force closes. Doesn't matter how I get there, either from the lockscreen setting or the security setting, always force close.
I currently run the official AoCP 6.2 on my Captivate, and I love it! I wanted to update my daughter's HTC Vivid (since I was able to appropriate it for testing and stuff), but I'm disappointed that the unofficial AoCP for the Vivid doesn't seem to be quite ready for prime time ... unless I'm doing something wrong. (I'm wiping everything in TWRP before flashing, flashing three times to make sure it sticks, etc. Didn't try fastboot flashing the boot.img...guess that's next.)
UPDATE: Flashed boot.img after flashing the ROM and Gapps, and lo and behold, Wi-Fi works! I bet the security settings issue will be cleared up, as well...and yep, it is. Lovely AoCP goodness on my Vivid!
The Vivid has much better specs than my Captivate, and as I'm not eligible for an upgrade (my daughter took mine :crying even this old phone represents a step up for me. And I hate Sense and ICS, but I love JB, especially 4.3 ... and the animations in AoCP on my Cappy make it seem like a brand new phone. Wish you could port AoCP 6.2 to the Vivid!
Stopped, lost motivation cuz of xda members. Bye.
me, no. i wouldnt ever use anything touchwiz, not even on someone elses phone. but these guys have been trying to port touchwiz for a while, and i think they are stuck http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...nt/port-touchwiz-5-android-4-4-2-dev-t2762820

Do you have nexus 5?
If you want to see how the last attempt went, here's the thread... It seems to be very difficult or impossible...

Yes!
I love running different roms! Thanks in advance!:good::good:
A touchwiz rom would be good mate
Edit - seeing the history of op....i think its highly unlikely (dont get me wrong) how many actual ports have u done?
Would seriously love to see the S5 or the note 4 touchwiz on the Nexus 5.....
Touchwiz Nice
Would love to see S5 based touchwiz ROM for our Nexus 5. thanks. Keep it going.
First I want to make a touchwiz rom based on CM than I will try to port it.
I already ported S2 4.0.4 touchwiz to Galaxy W, it boots but then it goes to restart because Galaxy W is so low end phone, and yes I have Nexus 5

You ported a Samsung base to another Samsung phone???
Samsung is closed source. You were able to do that because of two Samsung phones.
Why would I want a 4.0.4 port? Do you know Touchwiz is closed source?? Are you referring to a "themed" ROM?
I'm not saying I don't believe you but actual devs have tried, and given up just because so much is closed source. If you were able to pull this off it would be revolutionary in the ROM world, hell we can even start porting Sense and Sony's UI.
They weren't even able to port a fully functional LG Optimus port to the N4 and its practically the same phone.
2 words: Closed Source. Until that changes to Open source, its never going to happen.
Dont demotivate.

Dude i am no Dev. But in my opinion, it depends on the base you are using to Port it. you are right if you are directly porting from a samsung device, thats pain in the **s. But many Touchwiz ROMs gets duplicated for Chinese smartphones. and if you can find out a device with a same chipset as our Nexus 5 and running a touchwiz ROM, you might be able to make it work for the Nexus 5 as well. Correct me if i am wrong.
I was owning a Media Tek 6589 chipset and not even close to what samsung uses but you will find a plenty of touchwiz based ROMs for it, here in XDA.
Why does everyone keep coming in these thread hating. Its possible to port touchwiz and sense it the nexus5 it takes a lot of work. One of the reason i keep all my work to myself anymore. To the people that keep asking are people really dev were's your work??? Ive had touchwiz booted on my n5 and almost fully ported but gave up because i know i'd just get crap from the community instead of help.
Ps.. I can and do dev,so dont run your mouth if you dont like a person idea of porting something just move on to another thread if you dont like it.
OP I love to see you port S5 touchwiz to our phones. Good luck and I'll try to make time to help when you get it posted.
Em, did anyone said something?

A little respect all around would be wise guys. The Internet is full of debates. And that's fine, if done respectfully.
If not, the moderators eventually step in. ?

While I always welcome ROMs and ports. I don't think having a vanilla ROM with Touchwiz apps and a Touchwiz skin makes it a port. Not doubting, just want to make sure your definition of a port is the same as mine (and others)
Thread cleaned due to the large amount of OT/ flaming. Opinions is one thing but the way you say it can be the difference between an opinion and flaming. Do remember that...
