[Radios] NEW Official Radio Thread - Droid Incredible Android Development

I am NOT responsible if you screw up your phone trying to flash a radio.
Follow the directions exactly or this can happen to you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=738155
I've had these radios on my computer and I noticed that the links were down in adrenalynes thread and possibly in the new 11.19 thread so here we go:
md5 sums:
2.05.00.06.11: 954D0D2D93236146AA6D5537626535E6 I have not flashed this so I cannot independently verify it. If someone wants to flash this and verify please send me a PM - thanks to http://dougpiston.com/?page_id=71

Hey folks,
Many thanks to the unrevoked team for all the help they have done to move this community along, and for the toys they have provided us. Please DO NOT give me any credit for these.
Below you will find a link of the radios I am hosting. I take no credit for them, NOR DO I SUPPORT THEM. These are all at your own risk, and are provided without warranty, and any damage that comes from them, is your own fault. Using any of these voids your warranty.
How to install:
1. You need s-off via Unrevoked's tools.
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/forever
2. Once s-off has been obtained, power off phone. Hold DOWN volume and press power. This accesses the hboot screen. Rename to EXACTLY PB31IMG.zip The PB31IMG.zip needs to be on the base of your sd card. Hboot will see it and ask to update it. Do NOT battery pull or do this on low battery life.
MD5 calculator to check your file integrity:
http://www.md5summer.org/
MD5 checker for Mac's:
http://www.eternalstorms.at/md5/index.html
1. Install, and then download your file. Once done, right click and choose md5 calculator. Your number should match the appropriate one listed above.
Good luck, and have fun.

After you flash and boot up be sure to dial *228 or *22899 if you wanna skip the computer voice and go straight to updating your PRL
I take no credit for any of these. I just compiled the three I had on my computer since a bunch of links are down and uploaded them.
Credit goes to these guys:

Holy Crap that was scary. Got my heart racing. Flashed the Evo radio and so far so good. Plan on using an Evo ported theme as well. Ahhhhhhhhhh

Please check your links, the evo radio's md5 is matching the leaked froyo radio.

Here, use this for the EVO radio.

I've been using the Evo (11.19) radio on my phone for a while, and while it only slightly improved my signal, my battery life has been significantly increased, and my phone feels all-around smoother (could be the placebo effect though.)
Flashed it with no issues, I think everyone should give it a shot at least.

Thanks for pointing this out, I was multi tasking as I was doing this and since they are all the same name I thought I had the right one. Mediafire doesn't seem to want to let me upload anymore stuff. If anyone else notices a bad link let me know and I will find another place to upload it. Sorry for the confusion folks.

As bilbobrian pointed out the Evo radio link was the wrong one (i believe) go to menu>settings>about phone and check your baseband, if it isn't ending in 11.19 it isn't the evo radio and you should download from the new link provided by RegnierD. Since I haven't the bandwidth right now to verify it make sure you do an md5 check on it (you should *always* do this anyway) but don't worry the 09.01 radio came from the Evo as well and the 11.19 (new evo radio) has been tested by plenty.

I was using 11.19 for a bit (i went from 07.28 to 11.19) while 11.19 was better than 07.28 I decided to try 09.01 and my dBm got quite a bit better and my data speeds almost doubled.

This link has a 7.28 without the recovery in it with a working md5. I flashed it last night. http://dougpiston.com/?page_id=71

The 2.15.00.09.01 link is wrong. It downloads the 11.19 radio. Md5 is the same also.

I reupped them all. Renamed the file name a little so i wouldn't get links messed up again. downloaded and checked the md5's. all is good. Sorry about that guys, mediafire wasn't fun to mess with so i switched over to dropbox to get 'em right.
Just trying to give ya guys a place to download some radios since adrenalynes are down.
Edit: Also keep checking those md5's guys. This is a great example of that. Had these guys not checked the md5's they woulda flashed the wrong radio.

Thanks for putting this up.
I love dropbox. Integrates so well. Only small complaint is you can't link a folder just files.
I wish dev's would use it more. So much less obnoxious with the direct download link. 2GB is plenty for apps/radios/roms/etc. Easy to get bonus free space. Free for life.

Added radio 2.05.00.06.11

i dled the 11.19 evo radio and my text messaging started getting 10 min delays, then 20 min delays and sometimes none. i flashed back to the official 7.28 radio to see if that solved the problem, and no it didnt. any ideas from anyone?

No idea. Something to do with your area at the moment? While I had the 11.19 radio flashed my text messages kept sending to people garbled up, it has done it once since I switched back so I figure it wasn't the radio. You may need to post this in Q&A so hopefully someone more knowledgable than me can help you.

7.28 provides a much more stable signal reading than 11.19 does. I finally made it around the same drive I took when I watched the signal on the 11.19 with the 7.28 and the 7.28 stayed at -54 the whole time. The 11.19 stayed at -77. Big difference over the same stretch of I-40.

How long will this take? I figure since people are doing battery pulls rather then waiting this must take a while.

Ten minutes maybe. It isn't a complicated thing to do in itself you just need to do some verifying of file integrity and follow the steps. People battery pulling are just TO impatient IMO. Sometimes things can go wrong though.

Thanks, signal sucks in my area and my battery is constantly dying trying to keep a signal. .45Mbps download is about average on my Dinc.

Radio
any word on how well the 6.11 radio works in comparison to 7.28 and 11.19?

Need Radio Help

Hello,
My name is Brian, I'm a member here obviously.... Had the username BFielding a while back, registered in 2007 if I remember correctly, but can't access or retrieve password for that account, different email now, so now I'm BFielding80...
Heres my problem... I can't get SH!T for help on this site, maybe because it's so overloaded, or maybe some a$$hole said dont help this person.... IDK
All I know is I ask a question and they RARELY get answered.... I'm at the point I'LL ****1N PAY U TO ANSWER MY QUESTION, I'VE BEEN ASKING THE SAME [email protected] QUESTION LONG ENOUGH...
I need radio help. I'm rooted, I run all the ROMs, always Froyo based.... I've never updated my radio from what it came with.... I have radio 32.26.00.24H_4.04.00.03_2
I haven't updated because I don't want to kill my AT&T 3g.... I've read that the TMo Froyo radio will kill my AT&T 3G so thats why I left my radio alone.... But now I'm reading that the newer radios are compatible either way, so I want to upgrade it.
I know I can go back if it does kill my 850/1900, but I would rather someone to just please just recommend me a radio as well as link, I'll adb it myself...
I need a radio for best 3G and battery life would be a plus, but 3G is more important, in my area I drop to edge frequently...
THE PERSON WHO HELPS ME WILL RECEIVE $10 US DOLLARS VIA PAYPAL
Thanks,
Brian
Well, I don't want your money but you should be fine flashing this new radio (32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04). Some people say they get improved battery life and some don't. Most seem to get better reception.

There is where you will get the newest radio image, it is identical to the one found in the Desire 2.2 update. You do not have to update HBOOT if you do not want to, though I could be wrong on that one, though I didn't have to when I did.
If you do not want this version of the radio as some people have trouble with it you can flash the radio that was uploaded by enomther:

Heh, no that is all right. By the way, I kept editing my post a fair bit, sorry.
So there are two 2.2 radios you could flash. The newer one does give you better reception though, I use the 4.06 one though, if you were curious.

I have a tmo n1 and I noticed better reception with the korean radio but I've noticed some roms don't give me better reception but sometimes WORSE. I'm on rodriguez r21 limemod using the 5.06 radio. Works well. Just one off those trial and error things. If you re on edge instead of 3g try the *#*#4636#*#* trick just remember if u you use wcdma only and lose 3g u lose all service and have to change back to wcdma preferred. Good luck...

The ROM shouldn't affect your reception to my knowledge. You may have different APNs set and that could cause issues but even that is a stretch.
What 5.06 radio? 4.06 or 5.08?
Just put both radios on my SD, I'll update through RA recovery, but yall think adb is better?

you should not see any major difference between the two radios when it comes to battery life. i've been using 5.08 since it came out, i have a much more stable signal and battery life is the same for me.
you can also downgrade ur radio whenever you want... just flash the old radio through recovery... you'll be ok
Fastboot is, IMO, the most reliable way to flash a radio. I would rather not leave a brickable upgrade/downgrade up to a script, but that's just my paranoia kicking in. lol.

Hmmm, well if I am gonna have to wipe for this I may as well SBF back and get the official OTA.
Seems pretty decent so far. My linpak and quadrant scores are even with what I was getting with the OTA after getting rid of some bloat. Calendar fix hasn't fixed my sync issue yet. Any idea why when I post my scores to linpak my notes show build 2.2.20? I'm not familiar with that particular version. Phone info shows 2.3.15 as it should but this is obviously not built off the official 2.2 as I've notice certain things change back to leak versions.
I'll give this rom a few days but I'm probably heading back to the OTA.
Can someone share the stock backup assistant apk with me? I'm lazy enough that I was just using that instead of a3rd party app so now I'm missing a HUGE chunk of my contacts. If it can't be used on this rom I'm doingan sbf right away when I get home.

There is in fact a difference. Newer Baseband and New Kernel which results in better performance. These two objects were left out of the leak for fear of it leading back to the leaker.

Fast is true and easy to install when following directions. The one thing that is strange and wondering if anyone else is experiencing.

Anyone else?
Perhaps ideas for me?

Happened to me...flash the rom zip following the instructions. Reboot the phone. Then bootstrap and reboot back into recovery and flash the calendarfix zip from page 7 of this thread: http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-roms/8428-rom-rubix-focused-0-3-a-7.html
I had this instaled but could'nt get google maps to work so I went back to flyx rom. The market is stuck downloading google maps I hit cancel and it has force closed
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I also had some FC problems. It FC's everytime you try to stop a download in the market. It FC's every time you click on the battery manager to see what's sucking juice and it FC'd when messing around with the Calendar.
Because of those reasons, plus not being any faster than I had gotten my OTA after bloatware removal and some build.prop tweaks, not being able to use Backup Assistant (losing 80% of my contacts) and the fact that I actually like the native 2.2 txt app led me back to my OTA 2.2 through the nandroid backup I made before installing rubiX.
This is one I will definitely keep an eye on and will be testing in further revisions, but it's not where I want a rom to be right now.
I appreciate all the hard work that went into it but it's just not for me right now.

I'm Derek Rodriguez (thats my full name), and have honestly barely conversed with jake. He was nice enough to let me host my files through his ftp alongside with Boostdscoob (dominator/eliminator roms for d1) when we were collaborating for roms, and still lets me. Jake is a great guy from what I know of him, and makes pretty bad ass kernels.
It's hosted there, as well as alldroid, and androiddoes.net.
arlan_jacob, a reboot might of fixed it. I chose not to include market apps with how fast updates have been coming out lately, didn't wanna leave any behind and people not able to update correctly. Sorry about the issue, I'll make an update.zip with the market apps included if it'd help out.

[ROM-FIX] CM 6.xx, Ruby 1.1.1 and Shadowrom Radio and Wifi - Drops and Reboots Fix

Latest Cyanogenmod nightly number 97 (10/3/2010) has the new ril baked in. No need to use this patch if you are running it or a newer one.
Back Story
Long story short, the Chinese group Miui mananged to get / build (not really sure) a new Radio Interface Layer for our HTC devices... I pulled this file out of the Nexus one build that they released and it works perfectly. Link to the Nexus1 version
Over in the Nexus one forum a few people have questioned where this Chinese group got some of the files they're using, as they're really bleeding edge (at least thats what they say in the N1 forum). This newer / different RIL file seems to fix the issues we're facing with random phantom reboots while wifi is on. Also included in this is the issue where the signal bars show an "x" for a second or two after connecting to a wifi hotspot. Also fixed are issues where the radio signal drops before / after receiving a call that plagues AOSP builds (ruby and CM for sure).
Cyanogenmod 6.xx
This works on the 6.xx versions as well as the Nightlies.
NOTICE: As of Oct 2nd this has been "committed" so I assume the nightly that comes out this evening will have the fix built in. Check it out
Latest nightly number 97 has the new ril baked in. No need to use this patch.
Ruby 1.1.1
This works for Ruby. If you are wanting the BT Media Streaming audio fix as well, please see this thread. They are two separate installs.
Shadowrom
It has been confirmed that this also works for Shadowrom.
Bugs
I honestly don't know of any yet... but that doesn't mean there aren't any. Only a handful of us have been testing this thing out on the inc so far. Figured more people might want to check it out.
Credit
I take no credit for the fix. The Miui group built/got it(not sure which), I simply happened to be playing around with some files and noticed the side effects. Thanks again to Jermaine for letting me know more about the rom (and the fact that they weren't plagued by our reboot issues) in the first place so I could start digging...
Of course thanks go out to the entire ruby and cyanogenmod teams, without them we wouldn't have these fun roms. Lastly, IncredibleDoes for doing the Inc port of miui that opened our eyes to it.
Installation
- Download the file and place it on your SD card.
- Load up Rom Manager and hit "Install rom from SD card," select the file.
- I'd probably make a nandroid backup if you haven't recently just in case... no wipe has been needed.
Disclaimer
If this messes up your phone, not my fault Was tested by about 30 people so far, and no issues that we've seen. Please make a nandoid backup just in case.
THIS IS FOR AOSP roms listed above ONLY. Please do NOT install it on any sense based roms.

Isn't this just cosmetic? Or because the phone is switching from 3G to 1x? I've never dropped a call while toggling WiFi on...

Not that I can tell... so far the mere fact that the wifi isn't causing reboots anymore is the main reason I'm putting this out there...
anything else is just gravy.

Fixing the WiFi reboots would be great. Though, strangely, I'm at 110 hours uptime with the WiFi on... I guess it'll take a while to verify this fix works.

sounds good. in all reality the one person who can really verify is koush... sending him the idea as well...
(wish I could make it 110 hours! hah... at my office i'm lucky if I get more than 3 hours) so today will be a major test of it. so far so good.

Good job! I hope that solves it since we've determined the kernels don't.

if it works, sure going to send out the links shortly... testing the installer on another phone really quick.
YGPM.
I'll guinea pig my phone for a few days if it means getting CM running w/o locks or reboots.
I'll try out the ruby one!

I'd be more than happy to help test either CM or Ruby (Ruby preferred). Just PM me the info!
Installed the fix on Ruby 1.1.1. Running stock Ruby Kernal (This kernal has been the best overall performance Kernal for me on Ruby). Will report back results
I've installed the file you sent me... and holy crap. It seems to work. Really hope this does it or at least puts koush in the right direction.

I am very interested to see the results on the stock one... I forget, does the stock kernel have working wifi tether?
I am packing up a BT-Fix for Ruby right now but will keep it separate, to not complicate things.

You and me both man... if most testers go a good 24 hours with no wifi caused reboots / drops etc, maybe he'll look at it...
Keep us informed of the progress! thanks for testing.
Just in case you are curious.. I'm running koush test 2 kernel. No setcpu installed.

I have had good luck with wifi teather on the stock kernal...didn't work on any of the king kernals.

I really dont believe its the wifi. Its when the 3g turns on or off when the issues happen, which is when you leave or enter a wifi area. I turned 3g off and didnt use it for 2 days with wifi on the whole time with no reboots. I've have the lockup with just 3g on as others have noted. Also I believe that the lockups and the reboots are a separate issue. I have yet to see where any dev said it was the wifi directly, and with the known issues of 3g+froyo it points to 3g not wifi.
So, if you turn wifi off and are in a good 3g area then you will unlikely lose 3g much if at all, but if you have signal issues then the reboots still exist.
If we are going to find out what the problem is we need to setup test groups.
1 - no wifi, no 3g
2 - no wifi, 3g on
3 - wifi on, no 3g
4 - wifi on, 3g on
Make sure everyone is using the same rom/radio.

That's a possibility, but I think I'm in a good 3G area, and the majority of my movements are in a pretty small geographic area. I'll get reboots when my phone is just sitting on a table or in my pocket though in an area w/ strong signal.

I think what we'd really need is for the testers to check all 4 combinations. There's too much geographic variance to have a bunch of different people testing these combinations unless some lived very close to each other.

[MOD] Bell OTA GB Radio N_01.77.33P

Created a CWM zip with the Bell OTA GB radio and successfully flashed it.
if you use this feel free to let me know if it works for you.
Thanks to NFHimself as I believe it was his leaked radio zip (correct me if I am wrong as I can't find the thread I got it from) that I simply updated.
http://www.4shared.com/file/Jcy5-1du/Bell_OTA_GB_Radio.html
Just installed it over Alien ROM. Download speeds are comparable to .30P, upload speeds are a bit better. One noticeable improvement though is that it takes less time to achieve a data connection when the phone wakes up.
can this be flashed onto AT&T?

You can, but if you're on the ATT network and have an ATT phone, then you should probably stick with the ATT radio.
Why is that?

I believe it's because the ATT baseband version has been optimized to work with the ATT towers.
For sweets and giggles I flashed this on my phone running CM7 Pre Beta 4 on AT&T and I am getting .5mbps faster download and upload all around.
*NOTE*
Seeing as how we all live in different areas of the world everyone's results are going to differ tremendously. What works for me might be sweeter for someone else. So this is just a little word to the wise.
I am NOT telling anyone to flash this on their phone. I am simply saying IF you decide to flash it, you'll most likely get way different results than I did.
It's not my fault nor the guy who made this thread if you sweet your sweet up

I haven't done extensive testing but when I first flashed this the reception at home was MUCH improved. Never ran any speed tests to get numbers.
Here at work where signal is quite poor due to radio equipment my signal is also quite a lot better. Speed tests were great from a relatively dead zone in the office too. Awesome!
I'm using a Bell Atrix on the Rogers network.

2 questions, how is your phone's temperature? Specially when playing games or been using the phone for long time or multi tasking?
and if I didn't want to use it after flashing it how can I undo it?
Thx

The temperature's been fine but I haven't been paying a close eye. If it were anything out of the ordinary I'd pick up on it though.
You can flash a different radio if this isn't working out. N_01.11.30P is fantastic as well, but I think this may edge it out. If I'm not mistaken it sounds like the voice quality of calls have improved by quite a bit.

I just flashed this radio after i posted my question. Reception was never an issue for me anyways, so don't know if it has changed. I played HD game for a bit and same result as others, my phone's temp went up to 40 C in less than 10 minutes. I have not seen any radio which can fix this stupid heating problem. With Stock Froyo, never had to worry about temperature issue at all, ever since I have flashed different ROMS and kernels and radios, I haven't found any which is as good as the stock bell froyo.
Voice quality seems clearer and download speed seems a lil higher though.
I just got off the phone with my wife and this call quality has definite, definitely improved.
I talked to her at work in a relative dead zone and the call was quite clear as well. Thanks for sharing this radio!!

Bad ass phone 2.3.5 o3d

Flashed no brand O3d 2.3.5 European 21a(because it is rootable) to my LG Thrill. All I can say is wow!!!! It was allot of work sifting through the fourm trying to make sence of all the contradictions, but once I filtered out all the bull **** and got down to brass tacks it was soooooo well worth the time. This phone is running awesome, stable, fast as hell, the 3D is much better than 2.2.2 and the batt is great(91% after 5 hours and thirty minutes) everything works. I cant get 4G where I live right now any way so it wasnt a deal breaker for me. So if you are literate and can follow instructions to a T then This is well worth the time and trouble to do......... (edit) 78% batt after 11 hours...also Quadrant score of 2558 and Linpack 69.655 MFLOPS on multi thread)

Is your location parkersburg WV by chance?
any notice in drop in reception? (thats my main concern)
3g speeds
What kind of spreed are you getting. I only avg about 2.1Mb with the stock rom. Ranging anywhere from 0.41 to 6.54, normally on the lower end. I"m just wondering if I put the O3D rom on will it really hurt me?

Just to answer your question I installed speed test and I am avg 2.1.......BUT I can see the cell tower from my back porch....There is no 4G here where I live so if you are getting 4G then yes this will hurt your speed the O3D roms are 3G only as of this moment
So I'm probably only getting 3g for the most part anyhow. I can live with that for now.

No luck

It says KDZ Firmware. I take it their nor the same or that's not what you're looking for.

That might make sense if it was grammatically correct. So you want to flash the KDZ and Firmware but not KDZ?
Your right. I'm an android n00b but your not making any sense. I know I'm probably wrong about this but I thought the KDZ was the firmwares file format like iOS firmware is .ipsw.
I can see that you're probably trying to tell me that there is a difference between KDZ and Firmware but everything I've seen around here labels them both synonymously and when you just said you were trying to "flash KDZ and Firmware but not KDZ" it totally goes against what you just said. Like "I'm trying to drive to the store and the bank but not the store."
