Hi!
I'll soon start porting Steam stuff, starting with Steam Recovery. For this I'll need some testers / devs to help me. If interested, please post here. I'll update this post when there is something to be released.
I would be happy to test! This sounds really cool thanx

Nice recovery, mass storage was a hugely missed feature for me, especially for those soft brick moments where you can't boot into the OS but need to put stuff on the internal SD

Looks great, very anxious to see this in the future. Talk about feature packed! Love the external SD support, and happy to see a terminal again. Awesome work! I would definitely be willing to test this for you if you need it.
Hi!
Could someone post the keycodes of the device? To get them, load CWM, and enter the key test page, then press the keys (volup, voldown, power, home, back, menu, (search) ). Thanks.

Nope, but that's steam kernel. First I concentrate on the recovery part alone (the kernel needs it to work properly anyway).

Is it possible to make the screen wake with the volume keys as well as the power button?
Widget locker used to work on my inc 2 using the easy wake setting but its not working consistently with my bionic. I think I found another app with my old phone but I don't remember the name and it murdered my battery. I will let you knows if I find anything else.

There is an app called "No Lock" in the market that has wake with volume function. It also removes the lock screen. I can confirm that it works on the Bionic
This works without needing an app sitting in the background.
That said, these are odex files. Is there a dump available so I can deodex it to work on?

Probably not. HTC users are keeping me busy and the price tag for a (currently) locked down device is depressing.

If you edit the keylayout and put WAKE next to volume up and volume down it will work. Just reboot when your done. You have to be rooted and you have to be able to write to the folder.

Did adrynalyne's jar file
Stuck at the "Dual Core" boot screen, followed directions exactly. doesn't even start to load android. I made a nandroid backup, but being bootstrap recovery menu I do not know how to get into the custom recovery if i can not launch it from android. I guess ill end up doing a factory reset if I can't figure it out. Still would love to get the wake on volume keys working without the need for a secondary app running.
adrynalyne - Tell me what I need to do and I will be your guinea pig.
Will going back to stock, root, make a nandroid backup of stock and give the system.img assist. Im a noob but want to get down and dirty.

The needing to use trackball to navigate is due to this being from the SDK ROM as that doesn't have touchscreen support only mouse and keyboard. I wonder if pulling those relevant files from gingerbread would help.

I've found that in order for it to register "touches" with the trackpad, you need to move your finger a tiny bit while it's pressed down

This for ICS Passion v12 and V13 RC1. It also works on CM9 b15
This is not my work. It was coded by evilisto in the Nexus S forums. I only modified the key layouts for the Vibrant and the update script.
Here's evilisto's original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21501238
I do not use my capacitive search button especially with the Google search bar persistant on my homescreen so this Mod will remap the search button to the ICS task switcher so you no longer have to long press the home button.
I have tested it with ICS Passion v12. Others have confirmed it works on Passion v13rc1 and CM9 b15.
As usual flash at your own risk.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17980900/Search_to_Recent-1.1_Passion.zip
It is a CWM flashable zip.
All credit for this goes to evilisto so please thank him for his work.

Unfortunately this replaces the search function. Leave things as is and use the home long press.
ICS on the nexus doesn't have a search key anymore. Just back home and resent tasks. This makes our phones the same. Sorry

Menu unlock is not checked, I didnt try it without wake lock so maybe its cm9 thing.

Well... since jokersax provided mirrors to those files I will put down my mirrors tomorow.
Hopefully we wont need then soon.
great work, i do have one thought though, maybe rather change the "settings" button to the apps buttons, since ics doesnt have a settings button by itself, and the search button is quite useful at times.
Volume rocker already has its own settings switch, so sooner or later it will be built in.
Remapping soft keys switch is a good idea for older phone, since new ics guidelines are no physical buttons. But thinking more about, which apk you will assign for a button that is a house drawing? Always the launcher I think. The same for the back and search buttons. Menu is the more "plastic" button.
btw, vol MOD working good for turls v6. Didn't test it to jokers beta.
