My fully rooted NC has been working great for days. Last night I decided to reset to factory default and re-root. After I went to factory default and cleared all data and settings, I now have a major problem. When my nook boots to the home screen (still un-rooted and factory clean) My home screen flashes ON and OFF over and over again. I have no idea why or how to fix this ? I have tried resetting a second time and it still does the same thing. All the other screens are normal, just the home screen flashes on and off every 2 seconds.
Please please help !!
PS.. my NC updated to newest firmware last time I rebooted. Still has flashing home screen.

Having a bit of an issue here. I did the 8 failed attempts, it reinstalled the stock rom, or so I thought. When it books it still shows the nook color android screen, then asks if I want to continue with Soft Keys or Home screen...
Any ideas?
Weird. I had to do the 8 failed attempt wipe to restore mine as well and it worked. Maybe try again?
you need to do the 8failedboots which wipes /system...
and do a factory reset which wipes /data. with NC turned off, hold down N and power on.
On my third attempt now.. Just rebooted, and it still shows the android Noon COLOR (rainbow animation). And still has softkeys installed..
EDIT: Thanks cabbieBot, didn't see your post. Will do that now.
I would post this in the correct forum, but for whatever reason this website won't let me.
Not sure if anyone can help, but I had been running the CM7 rom in my Nook Color. However I wanted to restore back to the stock 1.1.0 firmware. But nothing is working for me.
And whenever I go to apply the stock 1.1.0 firmware, it starts to, then quickly aborts.
I've also tried the 8 times reset method, which looked like it might work, but it just sits on the N logo, loading screen and never finishes.
I just fixed it now. I held down the power button and the N button for like 30 seconds and it gave me options to reset, which fixed the problem.
Hi All!
I flashed the last build available from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777398 on my P7300.
Every thing was OK (well, after the flash I had to fix permissions, since it didn't boot) until I had to switch the tab off. After switching on again, it didn't boot, black screen after the Samsung splash, back light was on.
So, I wiped/factory reset, and installed every thing again and it worked, until I switched off the tab again ... I can reset long pressing the power button and getting into recovery.
I already did the procedure three times, since I didn't find a way to properly boot when this happens.
Could anyone give a clue about what can be happening?
Many thanks!

Thanks! I will try it if it happens again. I am also considering to try the AOSP.
Mine always starts on the second boot. After the black screen after the Samsung splash, I just long press to reboot, and it always
works the second time.
Same here...
My streak 7 just started acting up.
1.- I forgot to turn it off and the battery depleted and stayed without charge for about 4 days.
2.- At first it would not boot (after charging overnight) it would get stock on the pink animation.
3.- Contacted tech support and they had me do a factory reset (4 times).
- First time it got stuck on "Formatting DATA" (waited for it overnight)
- All other 3 worked fine.
The problem is that after it boots and I go trough the initial setup (google account, WiFi password - no sim card) it appears to be working properly, except when I turn it off and re-start it ask me for the configuration all over again. Just like if I had done an other system restore. If I try to install something from the market some times the tablet would crash (the screen would blink and then go black) and I have to use the reset pin.
I don't know what to do I'm completely new at this but I'm willing to learn. Any help giving me a direction to go will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
You could try to NVflash back to Froyo with this file: http://d-h.st/iXc. What version were you on? This video is the first in a three part series by "giveen" which will show you how to load drivers to NVflash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydM7qkoCs00. This link will get you all the drivers: http://d-h.st/iqA. The links in the videos no longer work.
This page will get you the latest or last T-Mobile file link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_7#Official.
Thanks !
Thank you for the help. I will be trying this today.
Need more help
I tried doing the restore to factory 2.2 with the instructions above, the flash appeared to finish. But when I restarted the tablet I still have the same problem. Every time I turn it on it acts like it has just been restored to factory defaults.
I tried doing the HoneyStreak flash from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088225, and I got an error.
Formatting partition 2BCT please wait.. FAILED!
Could this be part of my problem? any other suggestions of what to do.
Thanks for your help.

You are in read-only status more than likely. Sucks.
OH NOOOOO
Does this mean I'm out of luck and pretty much have a worthless device now?
I've looked up read only mode and no one seams to have a way to get out of it (except for re-soldering components with some expensive machine)
I've also tried the "hold reset pin + capacitive buttons + power button for 2 minutes" with no luck.
And found one that calmed to have fixed it by flashing CWM to it but they did it with a version of CWM for 5.x and up and I'm still in stock 2.2
Please some one tell me there is a solution.
Yup.
So I just performed a factory reset on my phone and now after the loading screen I just get a blank black screen. I know it's loaded properly because if I hold the power button, I get the menu to power off the phone.
I"ve tried wiping everything and installing a new stock rom but it didn't help
anyone have a suggestion?
Edit: Crisis averted. I was finally able to get it working again after installing CM
Just FYI it was probably just a blank screen. It was finishing things up and had you have waited a few more minutes it would have finished booting.
