Hmm, can't seem to download this anymore, stuck on Authorizing Credit Card...
I'm on Haykuro's ADP1.5Hr3, but mainly was wondering if others have checked out the Cupcake-compatible version. The note mentioned that you download the original version, go to About to find the link to download the Cupcake-beta version (DO NOT PUBLISH LINK, I'M NOT LOOKING FOR THE LINK, Bratag specifically said LINK is private for paid owners, I'm an owner, but can't prove that here).
If you have played with the beta version, can you do a review here? I'm really curious.
Basically, its the snap photo pro you are used to. No zoom or video. When you click on video in the app, it just takes you to the stock video recorder. Looks like all the options are the same tho
Just email him he'll send you a apk. That's what I did but you have to send him a copy of the receipt that you paid for it. It's pretty much like the dudes build camera.
hope this helps
james
Yeah, pretty much same app, just, at least for me, a bit more force closing.

I reported that it force closes for me when I go to settings (I wiped my phone) to the author of the app, hopefully a fix will be out soon
Ok the force close issue is fixed in the beta for cupcake as I have repeatedly said.
Ok to address the issues
1) This build is jsut to get the app stable on cupcake I am not adding new functionality. This may come as a surprise to everyone but cupcake isnt a magic wand that put new functionality into the camera.
2) yes it takes you to the standard video camera. I have two open bugs with google which deal with the fact that when I try and set a camera device as the input fr the video it force closes. This despite the fact the function setCamera has one purpose and that is to set a camera device as the input.
3) Zoom. It was in the sdk - it wasnt in the sdk. Dont blame me. HTC's camera is obviously built off the old sdk as it would seem is the device driver etc to go along with it. It sucks I know - deal with it.

whoa man I don't think anyone here was speaking badly about it, the op asked for a review. I use it as my regular camera again. I don't have any issues with it.

All I know is I paid for the app, put have no receipt to forward for proof. Worked fine and now does not with 1.5 build when applying settings.
Bratag, rather than get ruffled, why not wait for the final 1.5 build (which is now) and base the official update on that? The camera is way faster with 1.5and even more so than your app. Trying to update without a stable 1.5 build seems a little futile.
The combination of the 1.5 updated camera speed and your app features will be like peanut butter and chocolate (good stuff).

The update I have prepared is based on the final build. Sorry its been a bad couple of days. If you paid for the app then you know where to go looking for the beta version for cupcake. I have to say that the shutter speed etc in cupcake has been improved and you can see the difference in that and several other things in the pro cupcake release.
I'm really liking the new release for cupcake. Even if there's no new features, it's good to have a better camera app on the phone, I can't stand the default app. Keep it going, Bratag, and I look forward to future versions of Snap Photo Pro!
I was the first one with the cupcake build. It works great, a few force closes here and there, but overall pretty stable. When I first got it, there was a bug where you couldn't set it as the default camera app. I let him know, and he fixed it the next day.
Bratag thank you again for all your work, I hope you you solved your problems with those websites. It's a shame some people are assholes.
I know this thread is a bit old, but wanted to relate my own experiences:
I PURCHASED it, knowing that I needed to email Bratag for the 1.5/Cupcake update, and did so.
This was almost 2 weeks ago, and although I was sure he'd want to wait until after my refund time limit expired, I'm still waiting...
In case, Bratag, you need my email, it's [email protected], and the fee was paid thru Google Checkout. I can get my receipt, if you need it, but I already emailed it to ya'...

Yup, that's all you have to do.
i downloaded the apk for pro....but it "force close" whenever i go to settings on my 1.5
Yes, it will F/C on settings. Instead of hitting Settings, click About instead, and download that APK it links to.
Install that, and you'll have a fully-working Snap Photo Pro on 1.5.
OK, that would be wonderful, except that I can't get SPPv1.30 to OPEN AT ALL. It F/C's as soon as it's opened, so how am I to get to the link in the about screen? I've tried on JF1.5 and Dude's newest (as of yesterday).
As well, WHEN I BOUGHT IT, the instructions were to email the developer, and he would SEND PURCHASER THE CORRECT VERSION. That is what I did, and am still waiting for him to do...
In the meantime, I'm stuck back on SPPv1.2.6/7 (still works OK), and waiting for a workaround that works...
Not sure I understand why he doesn't just separate the releases, and put them both on the Market. It would eliminate this whole issue, IMHO.
Well, elaborate, but what you could do is...
Make a nandroid backup. Flash back to RC33, and install Snap Photo Pro. Open up about and jot down the link. Navigate to it just to be sure you've got the right one.
Flash back to 1.5 and restore your nandroid backup. Download Snap Photo Pro for cupcake on the link you wrote down, and voila!

If he separated the releases, everyone would have to purchase the program again to have the 1.5 version. Obviously you would be just as pissed off about that as you are about not being able to get the 1.5 version to download.
Now, have you tried completely uninstalling the program, install the latest version from the market, and ONLY going to the about screen once it opens? I am actually running the market release on my ADP1.5, I can even use it (provided I don't try to enter the settings screen).
Or, maybe, just maybe... show some patience. As Bratag said, once firmware 1.5 is widespread (not just some EU/UK users and ADP phones, he will update SPP on the market.
Cupcake version is on Market now.
How do I download and use the "[email protected]" app from USAA bank from outside the US? It's free but I need to get a legitimate copy of it for obvious reasons. I emailed USAA and did the obvious Google searches before posting this, but I am getting nowhere. I am making the assumption that they are limiting it to the US market (I'm in the UK). I am running a compatible version of Android, so I should see it, but I don't. Here are my basic questions:
1) If I got the .apk somehow and installed it here in the UK, would it work from here?
2) Would using a wifi connection with it be different than a mobile network?
3) If #2 is yes, could I configure my router to use a US proxy?
I really like the idea of taking a picture of a check with my G1, and depositing it that way. If anyone has figured this out please let me know how it works. Thanks.

These are assumptions, not answers:
Most likely it would work from UK in any form you try to use (WiFi/network). I would assume since USAA will have clients outside of the US for obvious reasons there would probably be no check that you're on a US carrier.
If you're having trouble getting the apk, I could download it from the market and send it to you. Send me a PM and I can email it to you.
Here it is. Hope it works from abroad!
Sweeet!
Thanks, r4d14n7. I appreciate the help. I just tried it over wifi and it worked no problem. Haven't tried it over 3G but I bet that works too. I was using the regular [email protected] before, but this is even better.
** Mods if you can change the title of the post to "[email protected] .apk outside the US?" it would help others searching for this same issue. I'm a noob and I wasn't able to type it out correctly...thanks.

What phone and version are you using, because I DL'd and tried to install, but it keeps giving me "aaplication not installed".
I'm using Sprint HERO, but version 2.1, so I should be good to go, thanks.
forty01 I'm using the latest stable Cyanogen build (4.2.15.1) on a HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1. I downloaded the .apk to my desktop, then transferred it to the memory card on the phone over USB, and disconnected the cable. Then I just navigated to the .apk file in Astro file manager and opened it (touch the .apk file in Astro and then touch "open app manager"). I've got the phone's SD card partitioned with the apps running off that (apps to SD). You probably did the same thing but I'm covering all the basics here to avoid any confusion. Hope you get it working. If I left anything out here just ask for help again.
Yess i have the htc eris and can not find the mobile banking app for regions can any one help??
That was downloaded from the market just before I posted it (10Mar2010). I'm running a G1, but I'm not sure that makes any difference. I'm a little noobish when it comes to apks
I overlooked something obvious here but I'm learning. I just tried the "Market Enabler" and now I see the USAA app from overseas. That's got to be the simplest way to grab it, and keep it updated.
Can I get this to work on Cupcake? I'm running the Aloysius ROM on a CDMA Hero. The software version says 1.56.651.2, and the .apk above won't install.

Not on Cupcake (Android 1.5), it runs on Donut (Android 1.6) or higher.
From the USAA website... "The Android app is free and available now for devices running the Android operating system version 1.6 or later."
You will have to upgrade to a newer version of Android before installing. When you do, grab the USAA app directly from the market. Use the Market Enabler (search for it) to get the app if you are outside the USA. Good luck.
Reviving this thread. I have a GSM Hero (U.K, unlocked, not Orange) running Android 2.1 and still cant find this USAA app in the market. Anyone know why?
** Update August 2011, I removed the attachment, it's a year old. The only correct way to do this from outside the US is to root, use Market Enabler, and get it in the Marketplace.
Here's the newest version of the app, attached below. (Removed)
First thing you need is a file browser to navigate to the .apk, once it's on your phone's memory card. Find a file browser in the market if you don't have one yet. You will have to enable installing third-party sources, your phone will prompt you if you haven't already. The problem with this method is that you can't update the app, and you have to trust my attachment as being safe.
A better way is to root your phone, and install Market Enabler (Google it). Requires root access, but it works perfectly. You can use it over wifi, 3G, whatever. You can use it to browse a lot of different markets. Plus, you can download the USAA app directly from the market, and update it that way, too.
Post a reply or PM me if that doesn't work out for you. Also, email USAA and ask them to make it available outside the US. I did, and they aren't ready to do it yet. Silly, considering who their members are. Just my opinion.

I agree with everything you said. Did you actually talk to USAA about that? Yeah, I went looking for Market Enabler etc, but you need root (as you said). I can't find a reasonable guide for rooting a stock 2.1 GSM Europen Hero (unbranded/unlocked). Is there one?

One thing I didn't think to mention yet is to try something like App Brain. I haven't used it yet but it's pretty popular on this and other android forums. I think you can set up an account on the website, load their app on your rooted or un-rooted phone, and load apps that way. Worth a try.

Thanks so much r4d14n7. I was having problems getting the app from the market as well. I live in Belgium.
But now that I got the app up and working, I tried to use [email protected] and it is telling me it cannot find my location. I have GPS and wifi on and both the maps application and my web browser on my vibrant are working. Any suggestions?
tpmaxwell2 I've never seen it try to get my location. I don't think it needs it. USAA is just limiting the download availability to the US. Once you get the .apk, anyone can use it. I'm using it no problem from the UK and it never switches on my GPS, nor is there any delay launching the app. It just comes right up. I posted an updated version in post #14, scroll up a little to see it. I've got that version running on both my rooted G1 and a stock, unrooted Desire from here in Europe. If you try it and still get location errors or other problems, post here again so we can figure out the problem.

FYI...
I ran across this thread after trading in my iPhone 3gs for a HTC Desire HD. I went into the market to download the USAA app, and it couldn't be found. As suggested above, I installed market enabled, set as a t-mobile phone, then searched again. The USAA app showed up in the search, I installed it, and it works fine. BTW, I'm in the UK as well. Hope this helps for anyone else having the same problem.
So I updated to FroYo manually thanks to the methods posted here. I've nearly reinstalled all my apps with the exclusion of one; Square. I cannot find it in the market and thought maybe the dev pulled it, but it shows up in 2.1 and web-based market browsers, just not in 2.2. Anyone else experiencing this? Can I just force the apk onto the phone somehow?

Same here.. seems like the copy protected apps are having problems.
This is not root or something else regarded - everyone has these issues.

Great to hear I'm not alone, but being an early adopter can sometimes blow (in the BAD way) =\
Is this being discussed in another thread? I did a search prior to posting and came up empty
EDIT: Mods, thanks for moving this to the appropriate forum. I've seen mention of this issue appear in various threads, though no thread of it's own. Will wait for devs to catch up with 2.2
I reported the same problem on modaco last night... I'm sure google will enable de protected apps this week, just a slight oversight on their side.
i had same problem, just put them apk on your sd card and install it. if it is being a stubborn app like a certain few just copy/paste or move them to data/private-app and install from in there. should take care of it 4 u.
Same problem here (Tapatalk Pro and Extended Controls missing).
when you create an app you can set a max api level to support, or not.
applications that have that set won't show on newer devices.
exzeus, square, and a few others seem to have done it...
give them about a month or so and you should see them come around.

Having the same issue here. Wife's N1 can't find WeatherBug Elite, or the Helix Launcher in the market. Even after reboot.
Same. Paul actually fixes it in his roms by changing the Rom fingerprint. Some of the unofficial nexus updates he integrated did the same thing to protected apps. Once fingerprint was changed, it seemed to have done the magic. I'm guessing that he will do the same next week for froyo.
Same here my paid app wont show up which means I may be losing sales so I'm pissed right now

Okay I just loaded HBO go onto my G tablet with the VeGan rom 5.1.1. While the app runs when I try to sign on the app fails with a force close. Anyone using VeGan or any other ROM including stock having similar issues? If this app is as good as it is on my iPad (no flames, no snide remarks) then this will be a great app for the tablet community.

great for people in the US.
Doesnt work for the rest of the world
Works great on my Evo but not my Gtab with 5.1.1. I'm getting the same thing as you.

From the Website on your desktop or on the Website from your gTablet? If so, what browser? Opera reports unsupported. Haven't tried any of the others.
Doesn't work with my cable company either.
If I remember correctly, you need Android 2.3 or higher, not 2.2
Got it to work with Dolphin HD after I disabled the AdFree app I had running and checking "enable plug-ins" to always on. Full screen seems to be necessary as well to see the bottom of the page.
Just checked the normal android browser - works too with "Default Zoom" set to "far" to be able to see the whole page.

I have it working on BC 1.20. You need to download "!IMEIMe(b10)(5).zip" from this link "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103766". Put your ROM of choice into the same folder as the "!IMEIMe(b10)(3).exe" (from the unzipped file). Run it and answer yes when asked if you want to modify a ROM (some wording to that affect). Supply a "pass word/code", I used my G-tab serial number (you might want to read the topic for a LOT! of discussion on unique IMEI generation. It injects an IMEI into the ROM, based on the number you supply and renames the ROM adding "IMEI" to its name. You end up with two ROMs original and renamed ROM. Take the Renamed ROM and change its name to the standard "update.zip" and re-flash!. Both HBO GO and the Xfinity apps now work on my G-Tab.
Thanks for this rmac. I am playing around with this. So far with CM7 build 86 i got HBO to work, but it would not show any video. Might have been an HD video, which might not work on GB. I tried Caulkin and Vegan 5.1, but was getting FCs on both with HBO. Will play around more when i get home and will probably try BC 1.2.
Update: I have installed BC 1.2 and have hbogo working, however the picture is not great. It does full screen, but is not very clear. Anyone else have a better experience?

Yes hbogo has poor pic quality for me also. It would be a good app if pic quality was better, maybe a future update will address this issue?
According to the help built in the app, it supports HD. Definately a bug if that's the case- seems like it's defaulting to the lowest quality available.

HBO GO app has been updated in the Android market -- it now works fine on the GTab (at least it does on mine, running Froyo Clemsyn+Calkulin version).
Many thanks to Dizzy's IMEI fix!!!
Great program to get an IMEI number on our NC and allow apps like HBO Go to work.
Great thread (Dizzy's) on this in the Dev forum. It was a little intimidating for this rookie but I figured what the worse that could happen. Took me two tries (cause I had an old Java version) but now I have HBO working, more comfort & knowledge about the NC with ADB, etc.

You're lucky...I can't seem to get it working for the life of me. I altered the framework file using the latest IMEI generator from Dizzy and that worked fine but when I run HBOgo, all I get is the spinning cursor and then an error telling me that "some videos are not available at this time" or something.
I've updated to the latest CM7 release candidate over the weekend hoping that would solve it but nope.
Perhaps my kernel or flash version need updating? I really don't know what the problem is...everything else on the Nook works perfectly.

My HBO Go app updated today, and now it works! Before, it would force close when I clicked "sign in," but today it's working perfectly, with no other modifications!
Now if only timewarner signs on as well... bummer!!
SWEET
Nice...every day im loving my nook more and more..thx dev.

Have you downloaded the LCD Resolution app? I read a thread here somewhere that said to get that app, then change the density to 160 and check the box that says to do it every time you boot. This makes your market app work a lot better. I was able to get HBO Go from the market after doing this. If it doesn't work for you, I'll post the apk.
