Hi All-
I've run into an issue with the Market that I haven't been able to find in the various market oriented threads here.
I rooted yesterday using auto-neuter 12.25 & everything worked great. I can youtube, I have my google apps email account syncing, I can download free apps from the market, etc. Angry birds is a real treat on the Nook color!
My problem is with trying to purchase paid apps from the market. Like many report successfully doing here, I want to get Titanium Backup pro & use it to backup the nook to a dropbox account. When I try to purchase from the android market, I am told to enter/create a gmail account vs using the existing gmail apps account. I have tried re-entering the google apps account data, but I seem to end up in and endless loop where it asked for the credentials, I supply them, it accepts them, and then brings me back to asking for credentials.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem??
It is my understanding you should use an actual gmail.com account for the primary account on android devices. This is probably the source of your issue.

Hi Everyone,
I recently flashed the JPC FW and restored all my apps etc, but then I realized that I had stupidly given a different account at the beginning than my usual one, and hence find access to my paid apps cut-off. Is there any way to change this (other than factory reset)?
I googled and some people talked about deleting gmail and gtalk data, but that did not work for me, I think account settings are separately stored in newer versions of Android, but I am pretty much a noob in all this. Please help
Thanks
I would like to know this also. Next question to add is I have Google Apps and my own domain, is that supported yet or do you still have to use @gmail.com account for marketplace. Nice if the marketplace allowed email change like dare I say it iTunes ;-)
A bump for this - would be great to know if it's possible.
Is this a common issue? I already went to my Gmail in my browser and youtube and regular gmail app. All of them are logged into my account. But I still don't get paid apps. EXCEPT for the ones that have been bought prior to all of this. Any help? Thank you all.
Any help? Still having the same issues. :/
Have you tried to install the Market Enable App? Sometimes google filters the results according to the reported model/provider and it seems that they don't support the NC yet. I was able to see the paid apps by putting Verizon as my provider.
I'm used to using ROMs that don't support backup assistant on my phone so I'm not sure about this.
I would like my Market account to be my Gmail account, not my backup assistant or whatever.
When i first started the phone, I skipped all backup assistant things and added my Gmail. But when i go to Accounts, it still locked with backup assistant.
I need it to be my Gmail account to get all my paid apps.
Do you mean when you go into menu>settings>accounts, you still see the backup assistant account with a lock on it? b/c in the stock ROM, you can't get rid of the account. you can not set it up and it won't do anything, but it's like the stupid VZW bookmarks in the browser or the VZW contacts on your contact list - you can't get rid of them, but you can ignore them.
You should still be able to set up your gmail account; as far as I know, the android market requires a google account. It won't use any other accounts, e.g. facebook, backup assist, etc. Happy to help more if that doesn't answer your question.

Well I know for a fact that the market isnt reading from my google account because it still says I have to pay for the apps i've already paid for.
I would get another ROM but BigDX's theme is only for stock
I'm too lazy to add the PNGs to the new ROM myself...lol
Umm.. You have to use a Google account for the market. Backup assistant is only related to your account info with verizon (ie. your phone #). If your market isn't showing your apps you are logged in with the wrong google account, OR, the apps you had downloaded are not the same apps capable of working on your new device. For example, there are games like Fruit Ninja that have a TegraHD only version that will only show up on Tegra phones, 2 different apps entirely that effectively are the same.
Thanks, i fixed it. I had to delete the account that didnt have my apps on it, clear market then reload it so it only had 1 google account to choose from (i have 2 on my device), the re-add the gogle account that didnt have apps.

In the future, while in the market, you should be able to go to menu>accounts and select the correct account, without deleting/re-adding your accounts.
Glad I could help!
I'd like to change the e-mail address I use to log into the market/play store. I created the account a long time ago, and have since began using a different gmail account as my primary email, so I'd like to be able to change it if possible. The thing is, I want to keep the contacts and purchased apps currently synced with my old account under the new address. Does anyone know if I can do this?
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
You can have more than one account and set up what you want to sync with each account so I'd just use both. I have several accounts. I sync mail on all and only sync contacts, calendar etc with one.
Not sure you will be able to do it any other way. But maybe someone else can help.

I think isn't possible to port market link from one account to another; maybe to only solution is to make a titanium backup of your data and try to restore after changing the account.
If you have TB pro you can try also to restore missing links of the paid apps you have.
If it don't work you don't lost anything 'cause you are working on an new "empty" account.
So :
- Make a TB backup of all your data and apps
- Remove your Google account
- Add your new account
- Restore data and apps
It should work.
Yeah there are ways around the fact, TB and syncing different accounts. Just wondering if there was an easier solution than I know
I'll just sync a couple accounts and make do.

Hi - I tried searching for my problem on these forums and couldn't find anything so am hoping someone can help.
I bought a Nook HD+ for my mother and have set up her Google Play, Facebook, Gmail and other accounts on her own profile. I have also created a profile for me with the some of the same apps such as Facebook, gmail etc. However when I log into my account the apps still have my mother logged in.
Is there a way to keep the application data separate so when we log in we each see our own set of pre-logged in apps like Facebook. I would prefer not having to log off after every session.
Any help would be appreciated.
