Hello,
I'm a little bit new in changing system applications, but hope can do anything...
Could anybody help me in it, how can I change the default Samsung keyboard (and of course user dictionary...) with one other Samsung keyboard?
The situation is that I have both Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S as original with XW... ROMs. These XW ROMs has Hungarian T9 with built in and user dictionary, as original Samsung keyboards on the devices. As I always like to try every new thingies, both devices has the latest ROMs on it but as you know these are on both of it just XX... ROMs (XX and XW both are European ROMs, but XW has Hungarian T9 and XX has not.)
I thought that I can change the default Samsung keyboard, directly ripped from any same type XW ROMs without problems but in the real practice I have not success.
For example. I use currently JPY on Galaxy S, but have the latest available XWJPB ROM also. I mount that and ripped of:
- AxT9IME apk/odex
- UserDictionaryProvider apk/odex
- libXt9core
(not sure that these are what I need but seems like)
I simply overwrited with these files the original ones (in currently used JPY), made the permissions into 777, and reboot. I thought this solution must work, but not
Now I have just my 'externally' installed original Swype beta (after I deleted the originals...), and the Samsung keyboard is nowhere. This is not a real problem as I would like to use Samsung keyboard over Swype just in case if I could reach Hungarian T9 with it.
So could anybody help me how can I make this step? Is it possible? What was my mistake?
(of course the source XW keyboard files was also Froyo files not Eclair...)
Very lot of thanks in advanced!!!
eboIa, I deleted the duplicate thread you posted in the dev section, this Q&A section is the proper place for requests such as this
Thanks, and sorry for it! Btw could anybody help me in it?
would be good to know.. I'm trying to do the same, but with Swedish/Croatian that worked with my original but not on th ROM I use.
I think that we maybe need just deodexed version of stock keyboard from the correct language version ROM, then rip the wrong one and put this inside of the currently used system. But this is just my though about it. If anybody can help me, or just tell me the truth, please do it.
There is one topic about it, but I need the solution to make it onto my Galaxy Tab also...

I am using Captivate in the U.S. and I want to use original Korean keyboard provided with Galaxy S M110S (korean released version). Do you guys know how I can get this apk file for my captivate?
because korean keyboards in market seems not good to me.
Original one offers Chun Ji In (one of best input methods for korean language) and does not contain many errors like something uploaded at market.
I have the Korean, I'll look into extracting the apk if I can and search a bit if it's available elsewhere.
However, I didn't like the Samsung keyboard since it didn't have autocorrect in English (maybe not important to you?). I tried, and really liked, neostylo5 Korean 2.0 offered by NeoMobile. I think it was easier to make corrections in both English and Korean, also, they will update to allow a Korean Swype in the future.
Please try it and let me know what you think.
They do say it's still in beta, but it's really bug-ridden. Keep on crashing and forceclosing. I hope they fix the issues soon.
Hi,
I'm wondering, were you able to successfully extract the apk? I'ld love to be able to try out but I don't see a link to download it anywhere.
Thanx
Is there any possible way to add or install extra input language?
My situation is that I bought Samsung i9000 here in the UK and I would like to have the Chinese input option.
Surprised that this hasn't been answered yet. I know that there are apps on the market that do this, but surely if we can just figure out which apk files are responsible for the keyboard, we can just transfer it from a Chiense ROM.
So the question is, does anyone know which files are responsible for the Chinese keyboard?
edit:
Found out which apk is responsible for the Chinese keyboard: ChineseIMETutorial.apk
I read some other thread on the theme and app section, and it seems like there should also be a couple of related lib files.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7493596&postcount=7
But those files do not exist on my phone. Searching for the keyboard "CN" in my lib file turns up nothing useful.
Bump. Surely someone must know the answer.
Hi guys,
Maybe I missed something but after few searches I couldnt find an answer.
Is there any way to get Romanian language prediction in Swype?
Maybe a CSC change or.. install a different version of swype from another ROM..?
I have an idea but not sure about the correct way to follow.
Can someone give me a hint?
Thanks a bunch!
Hope this helps!
It has all languages!
Go to www//4shared//com/get/26YCldWS/Swype_160368214_HVGA.htm
P.S. Sorry moderators for violating rule (To prevent spam to the forums, ALL new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. After approximately eight posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!) Had to help him
The file is gone. Any update?
Hey Cezar,
If you still need Romanian language support for your Android phone I can give you step-by-step instructions. Let me know.

Can I get the file even if I'm not Cezar? I need the Romanian dictionary. The auto-correct crap to pop Romanian words.
Install new Swype (even on phones with Swype preinstalled)
1. Go to http://beta.swype.com/ and register in order to download the latest beta. (it works just fine)
2. Although they caution that if you had Swype preinstalled this will not work, there is an elegant work around.
a. If this is your case (most Samsung phone do come with Swype preinstalled) you need to have your phone rooted and Titanium backup installed
b. Freeze the original, preinstalled version of Swype with TB and reboot the phone
3. Install the Swype installer you’ve got using the method suggested above and follow the instructions. Once installed, Android sees the new Swype as an update to the original version.
4. Go to Swype settings and download whatever dictionary you wish (including Romanian and many, many others) - this is actually the main (and I should say very important) difference between the stock / after-market versions of Swype - the first comes with only a few pre-installed dictionaries without the ability to expand, while the latter offers a lot more choices and the versatility of downloading/installing the language(s) of choice.
That’s it. It works like a charm and the Romanian dictionary is quite comprehensive – although it takes some practice in using the diacritics (you have to swipe through the “-“ sign for l-au, m-au, etc.)
Thank you very much. I was able to update & to install Romanian. It works pretty nice.
Here new RUU for Vivo

What do all these region specific roms do? Is there any advantage or extra goodies having one rom over another?
Crazy, this is the one for my carrier. Although the phone is not yet released, I think it is coming in April. I have my upgrade coming up this summer sometime and will get this phone to replace my Nexus One if I can root and install a Vanilla gingerbread rom on it like CM. I'm not into sense at all. But if All else fails, I will still get the phone for an upgrade, unlock it, and sell it and continue to use my N1

Hi,
does anyone know if a non-european rom like that from canada should work on a european version of the IS?
Will european languages be missing when you install this or get you in trouble with specific radio settings?
I got a little bug and was looking for a new firmware (when you open the phone application, normally you get to see the latest calls on top of your contacts and you can quickly navigate through the list by T9 search. However the list is completely empty until I press a key and delete it again.. then the list is displayed and I can search through it)
Thank you!
It doesn't include any information about EU APN's and all this material.
The language is inside without any preset except english

Hi guys.
I know our note's latest JB rom has almost languages and locale to choose but not all.
I'm learning Japanese ,so I want to change my note's locale into Japanese so my phone's languages will become Japanese.
but the N7000 rom does't contain Japanese because They has own Japanese version.
,so I've downloaded Japanese note's rom from Samfirmware but I can't extract it.
Can anyone teach me how to pick language pack from Japanese stock rom and put into any custom rom in xda?
More locale doesn't help this
Please teach me or give me some links so I can learn about this.
Thanks to every one.:good:
Adding languages to another Rom is possible (I did in my Custom Rom).
But here is a completely different Rom for a different CPU (in the "Docomo Note").
No chance to extract japanese there and add it to our Roms.
Thank you for your answer.
How about translate it manually? such as we have English UK and US and translate eng uk to Japanese word by word?

Yes you can do that - if you work 8 hours a day the next two years you might have a preview of a translated Rom.
I think this isn't practicable.
And: where are possible users? Why should anyone in Japan buy a N7000 and make a request for Japanese.

You can't "add" them in a simple way. It means a complete rebuild of the Rom (including decompilation of all apk). I made some batches and use some tools to simplify/automate this - but even then I need about 3 days for a complete build of an all-languages-Rom starting from the original JB releases. It's ugly idiotic and stupid work.
And now the important thing for modding: you'll have to build the language-Rom first, then add the mods by yourself. If you add existing mods to such a Rom you loose important parts of language feature because the mods normally change system apks. So for Ultimate or any other Custom Rom "adding languages" is no solution because the wrong order of steps.
But maybe - and that is not a promise - I will rethink my no-mod-policy for the all-languages Rom and try to add some Mods. Starting today I'll have a long weekend to fill without family...

I do not want to be a king (especially not for simple read-take-clone activities like modding), it's enough that I have a small princess at home. But I will try one starting in the afternoon.
