[Q] CSC out-of-date? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I introduce *#1234#, I see this:
PDA: I9000XXJPY
PHONE: I9000XXJPY
CSC: I9000OXAJPY
Buid Info: 2010.12
I see CSC with different version than PDA and PHONE. In this CSC, I don't have any Mobile APN for Movistar from Spain....
Could I update my CSC to get the APN?
Greets!!!

This is what you should see. OXAJPY is what comes with JPY 2.2.1.
It doesn't have Spanish APNs because it's for UK. You can always create APNs (Web, mms) manually if you know them. Do a google search.

I have some data of one APN, and I add it manually, but I wish to add some CSC from Spain

Since this is a single file to flash as PDA, you cannot change the CSC. If you could find it repacked with different files for PDA, MODEM, CSC, you could replace the CSC with yours (I suppose from a 2.2 release).

HI!
What happens if I change the CSC:OXAJPY file into CSC:XXJP9 in the XXJPY and load the JPY onto the galaxy this way?
Is the cache.rfs the same as CSC?
Is the file CSC:XXJP9 compatible with the XXJPY?
There's an independent Hungarian XEH product and sales code in CSC:XXJP9,that's why I thought of it.
Thank's

Neeh Help Flashing To I9000XWJG3

Hey guys,
Got a noob question to ask:
I bought a Galaxy S two days ago and would like to update to the latest firmware. I live in Australia and my firmware details are:
PDA: I9000DTJF3
PHONE: I9000DTJF3
CSC: I9000OPSJF1
Now my question is what files inside the 'I9000XWJG3.rar' do I need to flash on my Australian Samsung Galaxy S? As there are 3 files in the 'I9000XWJG3.rar'.
Do I just flash the 'PDA' file using Odinv1.0?
I'm scared about the MODEM file will stuff up my carrier settings because it uses European gsm networks? or correct me if I am wrong?
Thank you.
Also interested in this answer.
And is it worth the upgrade to I9000XWJG3 from:
PDA: I9000DTJF3
PHONE: I9000DTJF3
CSC: I9000OPSJF1
and when using Odin.
CSC = CSC
PDA = ?? which file?? code or modem
MODEM = ?? which file?? code or modem
Thanks guys.
Yep, I'm another one on Optus with the same firmware. The SGS seems a lot more difficult to flash than my Nexus One that Ive had for 6 months now.
Just out of interest for those other Optus Aus users here, did you have an update.zip on your internal mem?
the update.zip was not there when I got the phone.
But I did put it on and run update.zip and now I have a Superuser Permission App.

When flashing with Odin3,
PDA = CODE
PHONE = MODEM
CSC = CSC
Remember to use the .PIT file as well, which can be found here. You will need an account to download it, but that's free..
I'm new to Android too and I'm sorry I can't answer the OP's question, but I don't think it really matters if the files are European, because I flashed with Eastern-European files and I live in Holland. When I inserted my SIM my phone immediately switched to Dutch. You will have to enter your APN details manually though, but that shouldn't be too big a problem..
Hope this helps!
Edit: I'm actually not too sure anymore about flashing with European files, because I just read in the USA SGS topic that the US version has 4 buttons, whereas the European version has 3. Not sure about the Aussie version, but I would suggest you wait for an answer from someone who knows his stuff a bit better than I do
Yeah I am really confused, not sure what to do?!
good..

Any experience with flashing Europ. firmware on Asian SGS ?

I would like to flash a new Europ. FW version (say XWJS8 = ver. 2.2.1) to my phone with PDA: I9000ZSJPD / PHONE: ZSJPE / CSC: ZSJPD and ProductCode GT-I9000HKDVD2.
Has anyone of you tried this? I am afraid of any problems since the ProductCode does would not match the Europ. Firmware.
Thanks for some feedback
i tried a long time ago from dxjg4 to xwjpa using kies(it was possible before)
totally changed my prod code from xso to kor hahaha
but i dont know about your firmware
I was on DXJG4 too but I flashed to European firmware without a glitch. Mind you, I only flashed the "international" european versions, the one with XX as first two letters. Just like stated above, the only side effect is that it will change your CSC product code to KOR. But just a couple of months ago I changed it to XEU without any problem.
EDIT: Oh yeah I used Kies (tricked Kies, not it doesn't work) before and now I use ODIN for flashing

[Q] Reset to Swedish FW so Kies recognize it?

Hi.
I'm trying to reset my friend's phone so that Samsung Kies can recognize the right region so he can update it himself when ICS is released in Sweden easily with Kies.
I've done that many many times on my SGS but now it doesn't work on his Note
I've downloaded the "right" file from sammobile.com (official fw)
(GT-N7000 - Nordic countries
PDA: N7000XBKK4
CSC: N7000OXXKK5
Version: 2.3.6
Date: 2011-11-01
Regions: Denmark, Norway, Sweden)
The name of the file before I unzip is "N7000XBKK4_N7000OXXKK5_NEE" and it's only one file .tar.md5 to put in Odin after unzip. When I start Samsung Kies it says that it's (KOR) and not (NEE) as it should be, and that I can't update this device.
Anyone have any tips?
And another thing, it didn't do a factory reset by it self so I did if in Recovery!?!
Love //Ante
please someone??
dial *#272"IMEI"# without the quotes, then change the CSC to NEE or whatever region you are in. WARNING: This will perform a factory reset, all data will be lost
to get your IMEI dial *#06#

Change CSC on SM-N960F without root

Hi I have two Note 9 phones.
One is has the OXM firmware SM-N960FZKDSEE (BOOTLOADER: N960FXXU9FUK1 CSC: N960FOXM9FUK1) but the active SCS is SEE and I'd like to switch to ILO or similar to enable native call recording. I can see with the Phone Info that ILO is in available CSC codes.
I tired the *#272* and similar codes, but none work on my phones.
Is there a way to change the CSC without samkey?
The other phone is SM-N960FZBDSIM.
I've read that it should be possible by flashing a combination file and new CSC frmware and using odin and realTerm, but I'm completely at a loss as to what combination file to use and what firmware.
Please advise!
Thank you!
