Hey guys, zi have looked all over and can't seem to find a fix for this issue. My rooted Nook works fine with the exception of the Google Calendar app. There is a big white box along the top when in day or week view. This box makes it hard to see the dates i'm selecting. Dealers es anyone know of a fix for this?
Same problem here. Its really annoying.

Yep same issue here

Yep, I have that as well.
Has anyone figured this one out or are we the only 4 people on the planet having this issue.
The white box blocks out the top of the calendar and makes it impossible to see the dates
I have the same issue.

I just use the agenda view and it goes away
Here's the fix I've seen mentioned multiple times, involves changing a png to a transparent image:

I know I was looking for something similar to MyMobiler for Android ... with no luck, and I'm sure some of you have been too.
This is still in beta but the idea seems cool .. at least you can txt from your PC.
I've tried to sign up but I believe they are very busy right now. Looks very cool though. Hope they do a FireFox plugin eventually.
mightytext
i got accepted into beta, love it.
Just got in too - working brilliantly!
Been using this since it was Texty. Very cool. Not without its quirks, but definitely worth having if you use chrome.

I've been using it for a while, so far I like it but one day I was unable to receive and texts until I uninstalled the app.
After the app change names to mighty text I have not had that issue recur.

Help!! Haha i had seen an app a while back that some dev had made where the XOOM could lock upon light sensor being covered and awakened when uncovered but i can't seem to find it now! Should of just bought it back then. Anyways if anyone knows of it or a different similar app that uses light sensor info would greatly be appreciated thanks!

Tried it a while ago but cant seem to figure out proper settings
Yea tried this once couldn't get it to work but I tried it again and again no go ill email dev see if I get a response thanks for the tip!

I just downloaded that and it seems to work well. One of the default settings disables it in landscape mode, which might be the problem you guys are having. Either deselect that option or try it in portrait mode to see if that works.
I'd still like to find something closer to what is described in the OP. It would be kind of useful to have it just turn on and off when I open and close my case.
Aite I got it to work upon closing sweet now if i can just find one that "aweken" my Xoom upon opening case....

I think you might be talking about Killswitch. It was developed by an xda dev. I tried to use it with my 7 inch tab, but had fcs. However he was very helpful. I haven't tried it with the Xoom, but I think I'll look it up.

I was able to install it yesterday from the link I posted. The apk is there under the market link and video. I decided against using it, but you can give it a try.
So I had my bionic in my car mount and received a text message. The phone then preceded to read it to me.
I haven't seen this anywhere but is there a way to gain this functionality when walking around?

Settings text to speech and accessibility should help and handcent sms allows only text message readout on the press of a button if memory serves
I kind of wish I could disable this feature.
It kind of got me in trouble one day

I can imagine....
I went through the settings and there isn't anything there to configure when its available.
The Casio G-Zone Commando has a "read out" app that will read any unread messages when you press the app icon. I have looked for the app but can't find it. If I'm able to find a Commando ROM ans extract the apk, do you thing it would work? Hmm, I guess I know my evening.
I have never liked things like handsent or third party apps that do what I already have a core app to do. It just seems like bloat

I agree but they work well as a temp fix until you find the solution
I think this would be a pretty cool thing if I could get it to work.
It didn't take me long to find a commando system dump, but a couple of hours later I am no closer to finding the apk.
I would GREATLY appreciate any help. On the commando there is an app called "read out" and it has the same icon as the text messaging app. If you touch the icon it will read your unread messages to you.
I figure (total guess) that it is interfacing with the picotts.apk like the bionic does in car mode. The bionic has the picotts.apk already, so I want to try installing the read out thing to see of it works.
Does anyone know what the read out apk is named? Or if this would work?

Give me a link to what you are working with and I will take a look, but I am no dev so no promises
Also this seems to work well https://market.android.com/details?id=de.exesmobile.messagereader

I saw there were a couple of apps, what I liked about this was it's almost more of a widget. Nothing opens you touch it and it reads. The down side to an app is if I have to open an app to use it I might at well read the message myself.
I appreciate the help. I know I probably sound like an idiot

So I was able to check out a Commando and the "read out" is a 1x1 widget, not an app. The commando is the only phone I have seen this on.
Is there a chance that the pico apk is different on the commando and has that widget? If so can I install that version and have it work?
I like the widget because I don't want every message read out. I don't see the point in a seperate messaging app, because I could just open and read the message. But the widget I could find useful if I'm on Bluetooth or busy with something and don't want to stop and read. Just tap the screen and continue doing what I'm doing!

Unfortunetely commando forums are few are far between and not a lot of help.

Sucks. Any devs got some free time, and want to work on something a little unique?
So you think that's it, its a different Pico apk?

Check out VLingo in the Market. It has a setting that will read your SMS messages for you. There is even a handy widget to turn it on and off.
I like Car Dock Home v3 for full customizing and use Tasker for everything. It would be trivial to create a task that says to read an incoming text out loud based on docking status or location or time or whatever, and even automatically respond.
If I do a search from the search bar on the homescreen, and then click on a link in the results, it always launches duplicate tabs in Chrome resulting in the same page being loaded twice simultaneously on 2 different tabs.
If I search from within Chrome in the address bar , its fine.
I can't seem to figure out why. Has anyone else experienced this issue or know of a solution ?

Noticed this as well. I rooted mine, so thought maybe that screwed it up.
I have the same issue and I haven't rooted or modded at all.

same issue here, thought it was just me
I was suffering from the same problem but member 'janedoesmith' has solved it! The solution is this:
When chrome opens up after clicking on a search result from the search bar, you need to click on the blank space surrounding the link to the website. If you click on the actual link, it'll create duplicate tabs.
Here's a link to my original question so that you can give 'janedoesmith' the appropriate thanks.

I expect Google to release a patch soon.

Happening for me recently too.
Hopefully a patch will fix it.

Has anyone else noticed that you can no longer click the white space or descriptions on search results? The workaround no longer works and you can only click the title and tabs still open twice. Wtf Google?
It looks like Google has finally fixed this issue, although descriptions are still not clickable.

The app is horrible especially with the stock keyboard. There is really no reason for this much screen to be taken up by the keyboard and text box. here is a screenshot of the stock app with Swype keyboard. you can see one message at most. http://i.imgur.com/ZhrM8rx.png
I've began just using the hangouts for mms with people. I'm not sure if this will work for everyone.
When I tried a couple other messaging apps that looked like stock 4.4 I started sending and receiving double messages. I really want to use another app because the stock version is horrible, but I'm resigned to using it right now until I can figure out how to fix this issue. It's probably my fault somehow, but it shouldn't be this difficult to figure out how to not send double messages constantly.
anyhow, the phone is awesome so far other than the messaging app.
does anyone know how to change the text size/messaging box in the stock messaging app? the settings were no help.
You could try hangout. That is what I am using now.

I just edited the OP to say just that lol. This is my solution for now.

I actually had an issue with that when I first got it as well. I kinda just ignored it, until I got EvolveSMS. It has a small text window so the keyboard only takes up half the screen instead of 75% of it. Give it a try.
I like it. Just press back to read the entire convo
Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk
If you pinch or spread 2 fingers in the text box where you type it will enlarge or shrink the font size of the entire convo

hangouts FTW..
I just started using hangouts for my sms/mms also.. wondering though if there is a way to have the contacts app launch it for messages when I go into my contacts app? Or do I just have to start up hangouts all the time or maybe another contacts app that allows you to set what to launch into for messaging?
I'm using the EvolveSMS app.... It's a paid app tho...

Thanks for this. One of my gripes has been resolved.
I do love how it pops calls and texts on the screen in a bubble when you are in an app
