how to downgrade from FRG83 to FRG83D? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am a beginner for using Android.
I'd like to downgrade and root it.
Please tell me the perfect downgrade method. Thanks in advance!

1) it's an upgrade.
2) you can apply an update to upgrade to FRG83D.
3) You can root either way, it's not related.
4) Beginner users should look at my signature. Everything mentioned in my reply is there.

welcome to android. if you stay around you'll learn to love it.

Nexus One Updating

Hi,
I have bought a new nexus one, it is unlocked from HTC and runs on 2.1, my question is how do i update it manually to 2.3.4?
I am new at this so if you explain clearly so i don't mess up.
Thanks inadvance
First you open your browser and go to google. Then you type in Nexus One manual update.
Welcome Masantula!
First of all, read the wikis and the FAQ guides available on XDA forums. There is a lot of information available that can help you get started.
Did you just want to update to stock 2.3.4 ROM? It would help if you could provide more information on your Nexus One.
Go to Settings>About Phone then post back with the Baseband version and, kernel version and build number details.
It would be great to know if you have a AMOLED or SLCD version of the Nexus One. The updating process is slightly different from my own experience. To find out, switch off your phone then restart it again by holding down the vol down button first then power on. You should see a page with three androids on skateboards, have a look then you should see details of MICROP. Is yours 0b15 (AMOLED) or 0c15 (SLCD)?
Can't he just type *#*#2432546#*#* ?
Read my signature, look there for "Unroot/restore" guide, PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Execute, and you'll be on 2.2.1 (if you're not already). From that point, just wait until you get the update OTA.

Hi Philip.
Go to the link below and follow the instructions under PASSIMG method, using FRG83. Once you do that than you will be on stock Froyo (2.2.1).
After this you can check your phone for a new OTA update, current one out is 2.3.4.
If you don't get the OTA update go to the link below to know how to manual update your phone to 2.3.3 and than 2.3.4. Start with 2.3.3 followed by 2.3.4

Update rooted Tab to Gingerbread

I have search these forums for an answer to this, but cannot find a answer to this exqact question and don't want to start installing ROMs unless I really have to.
I rooted my UK uynbranded Tab using Z4 root a while back. I saw gingerbread is now available in my region so tried to update, but Kies is telling me an update is available but refusing to update my tab. I unrooted the Tab using Z4 root and tried again, but still without success.
Currently my version reports:2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1, build FROYO.XWJJ7, baseband P1000XXJK5
Do I really need to reflash to a stock ROM?
If I must, could someone please recommend a tutorial to help me, I see several guides but no idea which is the right one for my circumstances.
Thanks
Gary

[Q] Little help

Wow I feel like a horse's ass for asking this but it's probably been a year since the last update I flashed, and I've googled and googled for info but I'm googled out. I also checked the dev section but I dont see what I'm looking for so forgive my stupid question: I'm getting the incessant 2.3.6 OTA notification so I need to update to 2.3.6, I'm on 2.3.4 I think it's a stock version. I tried flashing the 2.3.6 update zip that i downloaded, that didn't work and from what I think I remember that was a stupid thing to try anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm looking for a full 2.3.6 stock rom/build/zip, but I've had no luck in my search. Basically I just want the latest rooted full stock rom to flash. My bootloader is unlocked or I would honestly just unroot and install the OTA, I've no use for root anymore anyway. Can anyone throw me a bone? Thanks

or
if you want back to stock, flash this (in recovery or in HBOOT as PASSIMG.ZIP, whichever way you want):

All the guides for flashing are in the Wiki, please read before further questions. Thanks.

[Q] Firmware upgrade

OK, this is my second post on XDA, but I'm finding it a little more difficult to get to grips with the Note and its workings, coming from my HTC Desire.
I'm currently on Kernel version KKA, and have read Dr. Ketan's guide about how to root your device, which seems very straightforward. My phone is prompting me to download a new firmware, which I assume would make it more difficult to root, as it would have a newer kernel than the one I currently run, so I have held off for now.
My question is, if I root and want to apply the firmware update, I assume I can do this manually, and would obviously prefer to maintain root, rather than downloading over the air, which would remove my root. From what I've read, I assume I could do this with Mobile Odin Pro, but could I also apply a pre-rooted version of the new firmware, and if so, which is the firmware I should use?
Like many of you, I am waiting for the official ICS upgrade before I mess around too much with my device. Thanks for any advice you could give.

why would you wanna search for pre-rooted rom when u can keep rooted in all stock rom with just few easy steps???? Its very easy with CWM !
Yes exactly agree to priyanv
You have kka rootable ROM, just root n get cwm.
Then you can update any ROM, either with mobile odin or cwm
Just want to advise somthing, but b4 that just decide, which rom you want to update after rooting.

[Q] HELP PLEASE with stock, root and more???

So i have decided to give my galaxy mini a new life with custom roms.
I have done my fair share of readin
I am not a complete noob and know my way around with these things
But i am still confused on some questions
1.Do i have to root before installing cwm recovery? I don't think that is a necessity
2. What do i have to do to return to stock?
As far as i have read, i just have to redo the steps taken to update to 2.3.x . (the phone is already on 2.3 to start with)will that be all?? I read phones getting bricked and flashing all 4 files to go back to stock and what not.
Can any one provide comprehensive steps or a link may be to return to complete stock including the stock recovery?
3. Also, can anyone link me up to stock firmwares And the necessary drivers? I live in INDIA.
Thank you!
