I have N1 and DHD
I am using Cyanogen Mod on my N1
I like to change my DHD to Cyanogen Mod
but, I like the HTC Contact merge, it just do it one time
after you sync to google account, it will be saved
but google contacts won't save your merge contacts
is that anyone know, is that have any way to use HTC contacts merge data in Cyanogen mod?? Thanks
Ok, I know this is frowned upon, resurrecting old threads etc, but does anyone have an idea on this? I moved to CM7 today from Sense on my Desire, and miss the HTC contacts app.

I know its frowned upon but at least you searched, seems you cant win some eh? as for the question in hand i couldnt find an app that synced nearly as good as HTC so i ended up going back to Sense, shame really as Cyanogen flies but i just liked the way sense seems to integrate with everything.

Ive heard things about HERO being HTC closed source but with the information gathered is it possible to port over any of the HERO stuff to another partially closed source platform such as the Rogers rom? Specifically the updated dialer and contacts?

Already ported the music player over... but again, its probably possible, but people don't want to spend so much time doing this for each app. So the best way to get the Hero experience, is to flash a Hero ROM.
Hi All
I have tried the search but to no avail, do you know if any roms have the HTC Friendstream widget in. I'd like a unified social inbox and this seems the likely way forward.
Hope you can help
Cheers

No as that is in a desire rom, the best we have at the moment is an Eris rom. if you want a unified social inbox, I suggest the buggy and ugly Blur.
Its not all back
Thanks for the update, just looked up my contract renewal date and its 11th April so not too long to wait. The tough thing then is Sony x10 or HTC Desire (think HTC will edge it due to XDA Community)
Thanks

your lucky you can get the desire!! It will not work with tmobile usa's 3G =\...
People need to do thier homework. Think a few Sense ROMS have working HTC widgets.
Kings Legend2G1 has working friendstream, thats the only one I've tested.
Okay im new to the scene, had my nexus since Febuary after i broke my iphone. i want to join the rooted life but i dont know which is the better one for me since theres like over 4 diffrent roms *kanye shrug*
but ive been reading about kitchens, from my understanding its a program that let you pick what you want flashed, i want to find out which rom allows me to install things i really want.
heres a simple list
htc keyboard, htc peep (i believe thats impossible still want it though lol), anything that can make the trackball change color, a volume boost if it exists, the desire camera app, and a BETTER GALLERY APP if it exists, the one thats stock is pure a$$ it makes pics look like trash (main reason it failed that iphone vs n1 screen test)
thanks in advance

THANKS lol a full desire port lmao
Is it possible to put the HTC People app and some of the other apps like the HTC Dialer and the HTC Calender in a Vanilla Rom. The HTC Calculator app was easy to put in. All I had to do was to move over the apk. The other HTC apps seem to be a little harder. What files do I need to move over sot the People app works in a Vanilla Rom. By the way, the rom is a 2.2 Rom for the HTC Hero. If I can get the HTC apps to work, I might end up making a 2.2 Vanilla Rom that people can download that has the HTC apps.
Obviously you're talking of Darch's AOSP 2.2 ROM. None of the HTC apps can run w/o the HTC framework. So, the answer to your question is no. However, download the app 'Dialer One'.. It's somewhat like HTC's dialer.

start there
Mdawg's Ic3Rom is a vanilla/AOSP ROM that has a couple Sense items in it, like the People and Dialer. Really it's an HTC/Sprint-based ROM that has most of the HTC Sense stuff stripped out. But some of HTC is still there. It is no longer under development though, so the latest version listed there is the last one.
I liked this ROM and used it for a while as my daily (version 2.8).
Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663366
One final side note: Please post questions like this in the appropriate forum from now on. Since it was a question and had little or nothing to do with ROM development, this one probably should have gone in "Q&A". Thanks.
Let me know if you try out Ic3Rom and if so, how you like it. I'd be happy to answer other questions you may have about it.
What about taking some of the HTC frameworks and moving them to the Vanilla ROM? Or what about combining the frameworks with the Vanilla frameworks?

Where did he say Darch's AOSP Rom??? There are 3-4 good/decent Vanilla Rom's here. Yes, they will work if you move everything in the framework folder that says htc in it. However, like Mrcharlesiv said though, i don't think it will work with Darch's even doing it. Also, one more note, if your ROM is JIT enabled htc sense doesn't mix with JIT.
One final note: what's with all the thread Nazi's? Just sayin...
Moved as not Development.
Doesn't everything but HTC Sense launcher and the HTC Lockscreen work with JIT?
Happy New Year to all!!! Where can i find all (or some) htc apps for froyo senseless roms??? I am particularly interested in htc music app and sms app.
No can do.
They need to be 'ported' along with all the dependancies on the HTC framework, HTC music was ported to stock 1.5 and 2.1 (NOT 2.2), but that's it.
