Tried to root my phone today with Superoneclick and gingerbreak but both did not work :-(.
The gingerbreak which i downloaded from the link posted on this thread gave a virus error with one Antivirus Pro software on my mobile and Superone click ver.2.1.1 gets stuck at stage 4 of the upgrade. It makes the connection to the phone etc. but for some reason does not like my phone nd gets stuck at stage 4.
I have LG-P970-V10a.
Please help. Thanks
They're already some threads about rooting LG Optimus Black...
Use UPK by Ilko here and you can try my method (Method of root by Sobralobo) or any other that where shared.
I'm also V10a. I rooted my phone 2 days ago. Try to use this method fast and easy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154882&highlight=root+via+application&refid=12 try to uninstall your antivirus first i think it detect the gingerbreak as a virus even though it is not a virus.
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA App
Thanks. I will try it soon and update you. Thanks
install gingerbreak... sometimes this doesn't work if the size of file you get/downloaded is less than 295kb. also, try to google "how to root LG Optimus Black P970 addictivetips" for detailed instructions if the instructions here on xda seem to be too technical. that's what i did before... i'm a noob. lol!
Thanks all. Finally after your inputs I manage to root my phone. I had to uninstall my anti-virus and it worked.
Another question. I am rooted what next? what are the benefits? I tried to download some themes .zip files and also installed Widget Locker but am not able to find on how to install those lockscreen themes directly :-(.
Please help me enjoy my phone and give some tips on what to do next after rooting
.
Thanks and look forward to more replies like earlier.
Thanks
Download LauncherPro or Go launcher ex to apply those themes and widget. Watch this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abDzsu35aWk
Gingerbread is coming! So i think it is better to wait rather than flashing different ROM (One benefits of rooting phone).

if you download from browser, normally you can "open" it with widget locker to "install" it.
Otherwise, just copy the zip in "sdcard\data\com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker\themes"
thnks for the "knowledge" transfer... I apreciate it...
I ran the latest version of Android on the Hero when I rooted using the simple regaw method, and I switch between WildHeroc and GB MIUI, but I don't do any other mods on my phone. How should I go back to stock and unroot? All this RUU and HBoot stuff confuses me, can I get a direct link to the right forum or something?
Head over here.

Select your phone, then click on the Download tab. Download the software update, plug your phone in to the laptop, then execute the update.

This will take me back to stock, will it also unroot me?
. Yes sir.
This script returns to unrooted, factory state android 4.0.4.
1. Download this zip - Quicker download here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?pzrzrt3583rgbmf
2. Backup your phone (everything! sd, apps, games etc).
3. Plug in your phone, turn on USB debugging.
4. Unzip the downloaded files.
5. Open run.bat
6. Type in Y then press enter.
7. It does the rest.
Had to do this since i'm sending off my phone to samsung, basically used this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167819&highlight=unroot
and updated the images for 4.0.4 and for i9020t/23 (this won't work for nexus 4g or i9020a). It worked well for me so I thought someone else might find it useful.
If you're having problems it's probably because you haven't installed the windows drivers correctly, I can't really help you there (google it or something!)
If you want to thank anyone, go to the other thread and thank michaelpeerman. All credit goes to him.
Edit: By request, someone wanted the same thing but for 2.3.6, so here is the link for that
Edit: Someone else took over for jelly bean, found HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807861&highlight=one+click

My understanding is that you require root to flash any ROM, this would be no exception. It wouldn't be that hard to root and then run the tool though.
But there'll be no problem rolling back to 2.3.6 from stock (rooted) 4.0.4?

Hi,
I got a really f******g problem with my NS. The power button is out of service. Thus my only aim is to get back to the unroot locked bootloader rom in order to send it to samsung.
I tried to do that manually with cmd.
I tried via Odin
I tried via your one click zip
I used my computer (the one i used to root it for the first time, guessing the drivers didn't change). Everytime, the command got stuck at 'waiting for device'. I thought it was a driver problem, tried to reinstall sdk, reinstall drivers. I'm still blocked at waiting for device.
I tried with another 'virgin' computer. I installed PDAnet to get drivers and make sure they work. (tried CMD or with your one click zip..) I'm still still stucked at waiting for device. However, my device do is recognised by both computers..4
Any idea?
Is my ****ing power button messing around?
Two days i'm drudging on this.. I'm thinking about suicide by now..

Sorry mate I really have no idea, maybe you could try calling up samsung and ask them if they would repair it even if you rooted? It is a developer phone and so they must understand that most people with a Nexus S root it..
I'm looking to sell my NS so wanted to get it back to stock and this script worked perfectly. Thanks so much!

Flash a stock generic 303 firmware, found in the all in one thread.
Root using bin4rys method.
Then follow the thread for keeping root on an OTA update,

No,
You can always use flashtool to flash a stock ftf no matter on root status. Read the thread.
There are several threads on how to root 195 firmware.
Root access is not automatic, xperia phones do not come rooted, you have to do it yourself
I know how it al works, with the x10.
Now i have a Xperia T but cant find the drivers.
Flashtool is asking about the drivers, and i did install al of them.
But there is no T drivers.
Isn't there a tutorial or something what i can read about.

yes, but not directly, there are plenty of guides in the general section.
It basically involves downgrading to 303, rooting and then doing an OTA update to 195.

I had problems first time around (using Flashtool). I had to install ALL the drivers regardless of device and set my phone into mass storage mode with USB debugging on to get it to work.
If I helped hit thanks!

Install both Flashtoll driver and TX driver was fine for me (done with 0.9.8.0 version).
Something else I've discovered (since I re-flashed stock firmware again today on a different PC) is that the phone drivers often don't initialise in time if using latest Windows OS (Win 7 in my case) since the PC looks online for drivers before trying the installed ones.
Clicking the new hardware wizard icon and skipping the Windows Update drivers check got the phone recognised.
If I helped hit thanks!
Tanks all for the answers.
But i did al you all said but nothing is working.
I did install pc companion again.
Installed al the drivers.
And stil the same error.

I did use vol button up.

I have LG P880 with jelly bean v20b EUR-xxx, i have tried every rooting method i could find and nothing works, i have all possible drivers i could find, my phone is ok and so is my usb cable, my phone simply isn't responding to anything i try.
I probably could downgrade and root, but i want root to jump into custom rom world, so thats not what i want to do.
if anyone could help me that would be great.
PS my only android experience is with sony ericsson x10i and rooting, unlocking bootloader and installing custom roms with it was way different.

In that case your ADB, your PC drivers or your phone are not set up correctly. Make sure you're not using a USB 3 port, deinstall and reinstall the drivers, re-download ADB and check that. See if ADB can see your device when it's plugged in ...
There are guides and instructions for all of this already.

Yeah, unlocking the bootloader isn't related to phone being rooted. Try this method, worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2180688
