Hmm.. my droid3 doesn't work. When boot up, Motorola logo
block motoblur launcher . so I can't use my droid3. I use rsd lite5.5(with fastboot firmware zip). But nothing happened to my droid3. Motorola Korea After service center said "we don't know what is wrong and have replacement"

So you flash with fastboot? Not RSDlite..
It takes 3+min first boot

im actually having the same problem as this guy. but mine was refurbished and im pretty sure its a hardware problem. ik adb rsd and moto-fastboot lol

To be clear...
You downloaded that file above?
Plugged in your phone via USB with a mostly/fully charged battery?
Powered up with M + Power button?
Scrolled with Volume Down to AP Fastboot and pressed Volume Up to select it?
Once it said USB Connected, you ran the CLICK HERE etc. batch file?
This should unbrick you in a few minutes and the initial boot will take a few minutes as well. I know those files work...they're my working DL'd files on my DropBox account.

cant speak for the other guy but for me this is my third refurbished droid 3. i can still acess clockwork and stock recovery. i used moto fast boot and rsd they both said "okay" for each part. "adb reboot-bootloader" aka ap fast boot also went there manually yes battery fully charged made sure. im so puzzled lol

Try the quick unbricking script. There's 2 other threads just posted in today in this General section that contain all of the needed info.

...hm. maybe i wasn't clear. the unbricking method isnt new to me and i am not a noob. i have tried both thank you for your suggestion tho. permanent solution? google needs to take over the world and unlock bootloaders i miss the days of the original droid T_T

OOH! Misunderstood you. When you said you used Moto Fastboot and RSD I assumed that you booted into Fastboot to flash with RSD. Fastboot just allows you to flash, the script and RSD are the two means of unbricking. Gotcha. And I agree. BL's need to be unlocked.

Maybe you guys are on the latest OTA and try to fastboot .890?

Sounds to me like either one or both of you didn't erase userspace in stock recovery. I had this very same problem. The rsdlite method will not allow you to boot until the old junk is gone from /data and /cache. Try turning on the d3 from power off while holding the "m" key, then selecting down arrow to "Recovery", then hit "ok". Once in stock recovery, select erase user data and cache. Do it several times, then select reboot, and you will be good to go, assuming you flashed the correct xml/zip package successfully.

I looked for threads to change the htc one's splash screen
Couldn't find anything
Can anyone please point me to how to flash and make splash screens? Or it's not possible until now?

I know how to change it on my Sensation Z710e but thought I would ask to make sure

I have been wanting this since I got my phones... we actually had this fixed on the HTC ONE S... someone found the location and made a zip...
I don't dare flash that on this phone, cause I don't think its on the same location.

We have to found the location in the mmcblock, after you can change it...
However, we have to wait

I know it wont be long, theres a lot of smart people in here.... they achieved that with the One S, we just achieved S-Off and it is much easier,

You have to create the custom splash screen from a bitmap image, with a tool that converts .bmp to .img and then enter fastboot and run this command

where splash.img the splash screen created
EDIT: attached a ready converted splash screen, anyone please could test it, you have to download and put it in fastboot folder, and run the command
fastboot flash splash1 splash.img
then reboot your device and tell us if it works Of course, you must be S-OFF to do this command

I think it needs eng modified hboot, so I guess it will work for those who S-OFFed with Moonshine method! I don't have my phone yet so I can't test, but I don't think there is a chance of brick, of course I'm not responsible for any damage test at your own risk

If someone knows the partition you could write to it using dd

How to flash CWM Unoffical???

Hi,
I downloaded CWM unofficial 6.0.32 from this forum, but I'm new and I have no idea what to do with it. I did successfully root my phone that's all I've done to it.

I'm sorry, but I'm getting stuck
1: I installed the sdk replaced the files with the updated ones provided.
2:checked adb devices from command promt and It sees my device.
3: ran adb and it successfully starts
4: I then rebooted phone into fastboot Power+Volume down and adb reports device not found.
5: pull hair out.
I'd appreciate a sort of idiots guide because I'm getting no where fast and I've read and read, but they don't explain much that's the problem.

Do you have the lastest motorola usb driver installed?

4 You're in fastboot mode....adb won't recognize your phone....that's normal...

use the command "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" from inside the folder with cwm.img. Or move the fastboot executable and the recovery image to C:\ and do it from there...Win can crap out when/if there are too many characters in the path...
Also, right click the fastboot executable and set it to run as admin. Might have to disable UAC as well....don't ask me how, I don't know...google it.
//I'm cereal, ya had to rename the SBF because in the home directory the path + sbf name would be too many characters for Win to work with and the flash would fail....

No idea, but here's what I did to install cwm. download safestrap apk, boot to safestrap recovery, hit fix permission, go back to cmd prompt, fastboot flash it,
edit: try enabling "usb developer/debugging mode" before booting it into fastboot?

Ok your directions were very helpful and I thought good things were coming my way, but when entering the flash command I get preflash validation failed. <failed> remote failure.

Update: now the phone boots to fastboot with flash failure on the bottom. What the hell did I do wrong?
Update2: ok got her back to life back to the original problem.

You might have a picky motherboard. Some front-side ubs ports won't work for some odd reason for some users. Use a usb port on the back of your pc.
Out of curiousity, did you try flashing a fastboot with rsd before you started doing this? And if yes, did it finish completely?
Also attached is a zip to flash CWM from SSR (maybe...SSR might block the command) and a fastboot modified to only flash CWM. Both are untested but worth a shot.
EDIT: Any one of you windows users care to chime in? Ya'll know I don't run it. I'm kinda runnin outta ideas here....gettin down to the just use linux reply...

Um, I kinda forgot that part.. my fault. I just unlocked the bootloader and I'm gonna give it another try.

Rooted HTC Desire 500 not turning on

I don't know much about rooting but hear me out. I rooted my device successfully and was using it for a month or two. Decided to change the ROM which stopped letting me go into recovery mode. Whenever I tried to go into recovery mode on my device, it would just start it up normally. I thought maybe if I flash a new 'img' to the device it would fix it. So I used flashify and used a Clockwordmod recovery img which I downloaded on the internet. That's when the issue occurred. It Flashify came up with a sign saying it needs a reboot so obviously I rebooted it but now it doesn't turn on, it gets suck of the white HTC screen and does absolutely nothing! Help me out?

Can you get into fastboot by holding down vol- and pwr?
Can you give me the exact link of the cwm image you flashed?
To what partition did you flash the cwm image?

I can go into fastboot but lets say I try to do something like reboot the device, it would just reboot but freeze at the loading screen. If I try to open recovery mode, It freezes on a HTC screen which says Entering recovery and nothing happens even after a long time!
Here is my device in fastboot
Not sure which img it was but I googled something along the lines of clockworkmod img download. I don't mind resetting the whole phone if there is a way to do that? and thanks for your interest!

Marvel & DC Dark Boot Logo And Animation

I know many users like myself got fed up of the white bright screen that comes up when we boot up the phone or when we charge the phone.
So I created this logo.bin
Which has a Avengers Boot Logo which is not a bright and it also has dark battery low indication when the phone is switched off.
THIS OBVIOUSLY REQUIRES ROOT.
You wont lose any data by doing this. This is very safe but if your device goes haywire I am not responsible for it in anyway. But yeah it is safe.
Note - Your device might take longer time to boot the FIRST TIME AFTER YOU FLASH THIS so don't panic.

Step to Flash the Logo:-
1. Download the logo.zip
2. Boot the phone into fastboot mode or reboot into bootloader.
3. Extract the logo.bin in logo.zip file and put it into the folder which has the adb file.
4. Press shift and right-click and click on "Open Command Window here".
5. Connect your phone to the computer via USB and type,
'fastboot flash logo logo.bin'
6. Wait for the program to flash the file and "OKAY" will be displayed in the command window.

Steps for boot animation :
1. Download the bootanimation.zip
2. Put the zip in /system/media and replace the original zip.
3. Change the permission to -rw-r-r-
4. Done.

I'll be trying this as soon as I get home. I think the new boot animation is neat, but don't care for having bright unlocked boot message, and then another bright boot animation.

i just want to install the boot animation. my question is i have not rooted my phone as i use andriod pay a lot. if i root my phone to add the animation and then unroot the phone anyone know if it will stop working or cause any issues?

Are you talking about the Motorola Unlocked Bootloader screen? Is this what replaces that?
