Hi,
I have DocFroyo 7.6.2 XXJPO Rom.
Today I flipped my GalaxyS from vertival to horinzontal on the main screen and a launcherpro message popped up. It will expire in 5 days. I thought I is an unlocked launcherpro version.
Then I wanted to look into the thread of the rom, if some one else has the problem. But I can't find the Doc Rambone Doc Froyo 7.6.2 XXJPO thread.
Please help.
If you paid for a copy, you get a serial number by email, which you enter in the settings..
Did you?
NO, I didn't pay for it.
I just installed doc-froyos rom.
I didn't get that message before. It apperead yesterday.
Considering that no illegal software/cracked/whatever is allowed on these forums, I'm pretty sure doc's rom doesn't come packaged with an unlocked version.
I thought there is a free version of launcher pro.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the market? (Yes there is a free version of lpp)
Sent from my SGH-T959
No I didn't but I will try it. Thx.
Maybe I install a new rom anyway.
And yes.. Launcherpro you should be able to use for free.. It's possible something is dodgy with the ROM. Or maybe some of the pro features (like the widgets are expiring). Ensure you are using the latest version.
Concerning the other part of my problem: Where is the DocRambone DocFroyo thread gone? Or where is the latest Rom from him?

It's now a kitchen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703
I solved my problem with Launcherpro.
I didn't use the pay version "pro-plus".
I use the fre standard version "pro".
But version 0.8.1.1 is outdated and won't be supported. (the popup didn't say i have to pay, it is just an old unsupported version)
I read that my update through the market place failed because I had a skinned version from DocRambone.
So I did start ADW Launcher, uninstalled Launcherpro and installed Launcherpro 0.8.2
Now it is ok again.

Can't find a version of swype that works at the moment? Anyone have the newest one?
Sent from my Nexus One
heya,
It's a closed beta at the moment, you need to register at their site (http://beta.swype.com/) and wait for an invite.
Alternately, each beta account can have up to two phones linked to it, so perhaps find somebody and see if you can piggy-back on.
I assume here that you're not asking for an APK though, right? *sigh*. Because that would be morally dubious (even though their infinite beta is annoying, I admit) and possibly illegal (since it's piracy). You can find them floating around the internet, but most of them are date-expired by now, possibly set your clock back?
Cheers,
Victor
Swype
Sorry I don't have an answer to the OP's question, but would like to continue the discussion.
I have a Nexus one with Swype. It works fine. been working fine since I was stock. I rooted, installed CM5 and Swype worked fine. I wiped, installed Enomthers, and Swype works fine. No problems there. (been using Enomthers ROM ever since. I like it better than CM... although I haven't tried 6.1)
Then... My wife got a MT3G original (no headphone jack). She signed up for the Swype beta, they accepted her and we installed Swype on her phone. It worked great. Then i rooted the MT3G and installed CM6. After installing CM6, Swype will not install. It says the application is registered to another device. Apparently this is a known issue with Swype. Even just uninstalling/reinstalling the app on the same phone/ROM can give this error. I have tried EVERYTHING suggested on the official Swype forum's, unofficial forum's, these forum's, forum forum's, etc. But i have never heard that you can have 2 devices registered to one Swype beta account. That may be the solution to mine and everyone else's problem.
Can you tell me how to accomplish this? I snooped around the Swype web page but could find anything about this. I'd be forever greatful if you can help.
PS: Does anyone understand the "application is registered to another device" error? If so can you explain how it knows it;s registered to another device? Is it the "swype installer" that gives the error or the "swype installer downloader" that gives the error? Shouldn't I be able to find the installer, change the phone info for the installer and have it realize it's actually registered for that device?
2.4.44 works fine
You cannot have one Swipe beta username and password used on two devices.
If you change roms, all you have to do is install the swipeinstaller.apk and login and it will download/ install. It will then register with swype. You cannot use a backup to install swype.apk
Just save the latest swypeinstaller.apk on your sdcard to use after Rom change.
I update or change Rom weekly and it works fine. I've been on beta since the beginning and have downloaded/installed/registered swype more than I can count.

I had the same problem on my g1 with cm6.my guess is swype does not have a current version for the g1/mt3g on android 2.2
I managed to find an apk that did work however with some searching and did get it working

I was running Cognition for a while, and found in market a "quickoffice for captivate". Installed it, used it, worked great.
Re-flashed to Continuum, which is an I9000 based ROM, and now a search for quickoffice for captivate gives me nothing.
Is there some setting in the market based on hardware ID or somethign that's blocking me finding this stuff? If so, what are my options? Some app that enables different markets, or changes some string somewhere for identifying the type of phone? Or what?
Thanks for any tips.
Download galaxy s tools and rub the market fix. (it blocks apps that are not "compatible" with your phone but the fix lets you see all ) hope this helps

Or you could go to the Cognition zip at system/app and copy the quickoffice.apk to your new rom.
or just use this apk
I tried the SGS tools market fix. Didn't change anything. I still can't find it. I'll try the apk. I just was hoping Ii wasn't missing out on other good stuff because of market limitations.

So much for self reliance.
Caution swyping! Read at your own risk.
for those of you wanting to get swype working, if you google swype v2.6.48.12226 wsvga. click the first link, and look in post 53, you might find a way to get it working.
Just throwing this out there for those of you like me that wanted swype working with out all this coding nonsense.

Just tested it. When installing the apk, it says "Application not installed" so it won't overwrite.
I uninstalled my version (2.6) and installed the new version (2.26 I think). Trying to get into the settings is an instant force close.
If anyone has any idea how to get the new version working, that would be welcome!

I cant seem to get it to run at all with phiremod 6.1? any suggestions?
installed, but I can't choose it, it doesn't appear in the Nookcolor Tools keyboard settings. Anybody know how?
btw I PAID for slidIT and it stopped working when I reflashed. they said I would need to pay for a new license every time I reflashed. they are thieves.
The version linked here is the one that works and I'm using it now. But still it's a rather old version. A number of terrible bugs that still exist in this version have already been fixed in the proper beta. I'd love it if there were a way to take the most recent beta and make that work on the Nook instead.

Stock rooted 2.1, downloaded from the links above, installed with Astro, sucessfull
pretty good swype in this download. Works and it is better than stock or slideIT.
Finally figured it out you have to select it in settings AND then hit the little circle at the bottom left of the android keyboard and select it there too. Hooray for swype !!! When it finally gets to market I will buy it. I missed it so much ! BTW did I mention that the slideIT butholes are thieves?
I can't choose it in settings first :/
I think it can't be done in stock eclair..
OK, so I'm putting these up all in one place. This way you can stop asking for them in various threads. I'll add others as I discover need to add them.
My Verizon only works on VZW based ROMs.
6/27 Only works with PlainJane v3 AFAIK 6/27. GB ROMs will need to wait for a new base leak most likely.
6/30 Update - Older version works again. Download MyVerizon.apk for the older version that works on most newer ROMs. the com.vzw.hss.myverizon-1.apk will only work on the MR2 based ROMs.
VVM (visual voicemail) - Works on all versions of everything as far as I know. It also fixes the notification issues that people are having with voicemails on bamf roms. (your account must have it enabled for it to work, $3 a month.) - Apparently doesn't work with the Thunderstick ROM or CM7 1.2. Not sure what got changed in this most current build, but it definitely broke VVM. Thunderstick has some conflicting files baked in that break it.
Flash 10.2 edited for use with hulu.com as well. If you don't use it for hulu you won't see any difference. CM7 users rejoice? Just make sure you don't accidentally update it via market or you'll lose in browser flash video again and need to re-install this.
If you're having issues with a particular file, please post what ROM you're running. I'm trying to narrow down possible culprit ROMs.
If these files help you, don't forget about the "Thanks" button
Enjoy.
6/25 - Re-uploaded VVM.apk since a couple people seem to be having issues with it. I even deleted it off my phone and re-downloaded it via this attachment to check to make sure it went through properly. Since there are only the 2 people commenting that it didn't work out of 100+ downloads of the file, I'm going to assume that something happened on your end not mine (make sure you have unknown sources checked in your application settings and/or re-download?), but re-uploaded and tested nonetheless.
6/26 - Had to pull My Verizon due to an update today that breaks it for us. No current working version known for Thunderbolt.
6/27 - Ok, so the structure is there in the MR2 froyo update (plainjane v3) so I'm putting the current apk up. I need to figure out what i need to strip out of MR2 to make it work for other ROMs.
6/29 - Added Skype
6/30 - Changed Skype File location to Fyels.com for more bandwidth.
6/30 - Re-Posted the older My Verizon APK. No idea what VZW is up to on their end, but it no longer prompts for update locking us out. We'll see how long that lasts.
7/5 - Fixed Broken link for skype. Added bold text to netflix description to make it more obvious that it doesn't work on unrooted/froyo phones...
7/8 - Added Flash 10.2 (is also edited for use with hulu.com) for CM7 users.
7/20 - Removed netflix. It is now natively supported.
7/20 - Updated VVM to newer build version.
8/5 - Removed skype. Natively supported.
Good post. Good idea.

Hulu plus is not currently supported on the tbolt (hence i won't put it in the op til then). If you want to mess with it, here's the apk. You can manage queues etc but you cannot play video. You will get a "device not supported yet" type error. You may be able to edit the build.prop to get it running by tricking it into thinking you have a different (supported) device but the idea to this thread is to not hack/edit things to get them working.

Not on the market for T-Bolt, and sorry...I missed the GB in the thread title (linked here from another thread).

Tried installing vvm but no dice...tried installing as a apk tried dropping in system app tried renaming it. all I get is app not installed do I need to change permissions?
Anyone have luck with the VVM APK? Can't get it to install at all. Using BAMF 2.1. Tried a straight APK install and just dropping it into the sytem/app folder via root explorer.

And yes, I did change permissions. Would really love to get this working, as I have to use VZW VVM for work. Thanks.
All I do is install it like anything else. Looks like this.
Make sure you have unknown sources checked. I'll reupload it when I get home if people are still having issues. I've installed it on every version of bamf that didn't include integrated Vvm and cm7.

I am very happy that this is thread came out cuz I've been tryin to leave Froyo but those 3 major apps were an issue w/GB and it looks like no more issues. Am on the latest Gingeritis and all those apps work anyway so I'll cnfirm the truth about this thread once I decide to test the other GB roms again. Great thread though OP. Much props to you. If you can somehow make the HTC messaging widget bug leave GB as well, You'd be even more of a hero

Ok so I installed the latest android leak from sammobile (XWJVZ)
The problem I'm having is that a few apps arent showing up in android market anymore. I can see them when I use the android website but when trying to install remotely it says incompatible.
Didnt have that problem before. Tried market enabler but nothing changed.
Starting to think its an android 2.3.6 problem.
Anyone maybe have a solution or same problem?
Thanks
I have noticed the same as well since flashing to XWJVZ. There is 1 particular paid app that I cannot install.
If I search the Market for it, it doesn't turn up any results. If I use market.android.com and search for the app it states "This item is not compatible with your device".
I contacted the app's author and they have never heard of such a thing with their application before.
I'm going to flash back to XWJVU (the app worked then) and see if I can install it via the market again.

Ok so I noticed that with JVW, JVZ and JW1 some apps dont show in the android market.
So I went back to JVT and now they do show in the market. Weird
Unfortunately for me I dont like JVT. The touchwiz launcher wont run stable on my phone
I installed JW1 yesterday and one of the apps I had before now says its not compatible.
One thing I noted is that my cell phone carrier is no longer listed in my market profile.

Search for a CSC changer in the market. If you don't have "BMC" (i.e. Bell Mobility) listed as a CSC, you can flash KG3 CSC.
Then in the CSC changer app, choose BMC as your CSC. Save and reboot.
Note: Changing your CSC will perform a factory reset.
