[Q] Help! - Nook Color General

So I just got a nookcolor and I think I just rooted
I used 1.0.0 ( didn't update) and used autonooter
But after I disconnected and took out my micro SD with the img.
It won't boot on, it gets stuck on the nook logo with "contains Reader Mobile technology by Adobe Systems Incorporated"
Help!

I think you have to update to 1.0.1 and then run AutoNooter.

It won't boot past the above stated screen
: C

Try resetting it back to factory defaults using the 8 failed boot method.

Thank you so much cevan.
I will use the update to 1.0.01 and use autonooter for that!
It works now!

Boot up fail after 1.1.0 update

I rooted my 1.0.1, then followed it with a pre-rooted "update" image for 1.1.0 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932145
It worked perfectly initially, but on my second boot up it was stuck at the black screen with "touch the future of reading". I kept rebooting but I couldnt get past the initial screen. Even after 8 fail boots, it didnt go into reflashing/system partition. The only way to boot as of now is to use the usb cable and plugging it to a comp a ac adapter. Everything works fine when Im able to boot it, but once I try to reboot without the cable, it gets stuck again .
I scanned through the thread I linked above but couldnt find a similar situation.
Anyone know any solutions?
I could be wrong, but if you had 1.0.1 and installed the 1.1.0 root it may be why this is happening. Have you tried resetting to nook default, update to 1.1.0 and then install the rom you mentioned?

[Q] My nook won't start(Plz help)

Hey guys i was using Auto nootor 3.0 to root it, but when i put in the sd card and attached it to the computer, it didn't Boot up like it was supposed to.
So i tried to start it manually, it didn't even turn on.
So i removed the Sd card and now it gets stuck at the black N screen.
Edit:
OKay i got it working again, although i have no How but barns and noble animation is gone there are softkeys(which don't work BTW)
I tried SD card again but i doesn't work, the nook just doesn't boot up.
Anyone knows what i have to do to get froyo working in EMMC?
It can take up to 5 minutes to boot the first time you connect it to the pc. Just be patient...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
Okay it worked. Thanks.
I had successfully rooted by nook color in the past. but the market app and gmail stopped functioning, so I opt ted to restoring and rerooting. Now after following directions on this link, my nook says install fail and won't load up after restarting. Help would be greatly appreciated it thanks in advance!

[Q] Dual Boot question

I'm really frustrated because what seems to work great for everyone it's not working for me.
I have a rooted NC 1.1 and I'm running an alternate launcher. I used the Auto-nooter 3.0 to get it to this point.
I installed the dual boot prep using CW Recovery, which went through just fine.
Now when I boot I get the "(multi) Uboot loading..." message for about 5-10 seconds and then the Nook boots into my regular Eclair system. So far so good.
I flashed the phiremod-nook-V6-dualboot zip from my sd card using CW Recovery and that went through just fine as well.
So now I hold down the n button while powering up and hold it while the multi Uboot screen is on, then I get brief flash of "loading" and immediately it goes to ANDROID_ screen where it hangs.
I repeated the same process twice and also tried a different ROM that is linked to in the first post of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959461 (nookie froyo 0.6.8) still the same result.
Am I missing something that is obvious to everyone else?
Should I reformat the sd card first?
Is the Autonooter conflicting with dual boot?
Something else?
I wanted to post in the original dual boot thread, but the forum won't let me- not enough posts yet.
TIA

Restore to stock before 1.2.0 update

Sorry if this is available here, but I am not having much luck with the instructions that I tried.
I have an auto-nootered 3.0 NC & want to return to stock in order to apply the 1.2.0 update. ( I run CM7 from SD when I want to really have fun) I tried the 8 fail boots & ended up in a boot loop to CWM recovery. What is my easiest (non-ADB) method to get this thing back to 1.1 stock? Again, I apologize if this is right in front of me, but most of the relative threads that I found are very old.
Thanks,
kev
I followed this thread to first remove CWR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
followed by instructions here to restore to stock
http://nookdevs.com/Flash_back_to_clean_stock_ROM
and lastly to side load the 1.2 update.
Cheers
I had to restore to 1.1.0 after autonooter 3.0 by erase and dereg., then 8 starts; 1.2.0 then installed fine.

For those of us that do NOT have CWM (ClockWorkMod) recovery installed on eMMC, but do have CM7 installed to eMMC, can we use the 8 boot trick to reset our nooks to stock?
I'm running CM7 on my eMMC that I installed using the "CWM on SD" technique. My Nook stopped booting last night after midnight. Since I did not change anything with the OS and had rebooted a couple times earlier in the day, I'm ASSUMING that the 1.2 update came down automagically via wifi late last night, and was unable to complete install when rebooting. I did not see any prompts or input from the Nook during use or on reboot that would have indicated that and update had been received and/or applied.
Also, I was under the impression that the 8 boot reset pulls the software off a chip that has the OS "cooked" into. Is that correct? If not, wouldn't an eMMC install of CM7 remove any chance of the 8 boot reset being successful?
EDIT: just read the linked instructions above. I'll give that a shot tonight.
Anyone have any ideas here - I successfully removed CWM from my NC, then did the eight boot interrupts, and the stock software reload thing seemed to go okay. When I try to reset data by holding down power+n, nothing happens. It turns on, but then right back off. If I try to boot without holding n, it stalls on the "n" screen.
Any thoughts?
Flashed again with cwm up to 1.0.1 and I can't update to 1.2 or 1.1 via internal memory or sd. I changed file names and verified checksums and they are accurate and still no dice. WTF
edit:-----------
Weird. After an erase and deregister 1.1 and 1.2 finally went through. Something must have not been in the right state without that.
So if you're getting stuck do both methods in Part 2 of http://nookdevs.com/Flash_back_to_clean_stock_ROM
Same issue as others
Yeah... same issue here. Was running 1.0.1 rooted (no SD method). I did not have CWM Recovery installed in eMMC but did make an 8GB SD CWM Recovery.
So after the failed push update from B&N ... I now have the boot loop issue. My guess is their update failed because of some root thing I had in place. Not installing CWM Recovery to eMMC was my biggest issue because at least that would have blocked the automatic update from B&N.
At any rate... I've tried multiple time to recover and now find myself going back to unrooted stock just so I can get the B&N working again.
My wife is gonna kill me if I can't get this thing working again soon. The new magazine issue of "US" is about to come out. =)
Everybody calm down and just follow the Instructions here:

Yes, that works, but that restores the Nook back to 1.0.1. How does one then get it back to 1.1.0?
I followed the same procedure using the 1.1.0 firmware, but it refuses to work.
Anybody know how I can get back to 1.1.0?
Thanks.
assuming you have cwr, have you tried this?

I'm about to try it now since I fail at ADB and rebooting apparently...

Stuck on Nool Color boot screen

My NC has manual nooter and 1.2 on it. This morning I woke up, and found the NC in a boot loop. The animated Nook Color animates till it hits the L and Color, then it plays the animation again and wont get past this point. Do you think 1.3 autoloaded and hosed my Nook? Any help would be great.
Mine did same after 1.3 update. I fixed by downloading 1.0 version stock nook zip file which i copied onto my CWM bootable micro SD. Rebooted into stock. Updated to 1.3 then manual nooter 1.2. Im all goodn now.

So you booted in CWM, then installed the nook-complete-restore-1.0.0.zip. Reboot.
The Nook then rebooted to stock 1.0.
Then side-loaded the 1.3 update and let it install.
Then booted into CWM and installed "manualnooter-4-6-16.zip". Reboot.
Is that right?
I am having the same issue as the OP.
I tried booting into CWM and installing "manualnooter-4-5-18.zip".
But after I rebooted, I still am stuck at the Nook Color boot animation and the animation just keeps looping and never boots.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?
OK, so I wiped my NC and restored it to 1.0.1 and registered it.
Then I used CWM to update to 1.2.
Then I side loaded 1.3 and updated and rebooted.
Then I went through the manual nooter process by loading manualnooter-4-5-18.zip first and then manualnooter-4-6-16a.zip.
Once that was done, I rebooted and everything worked great.
I then launched ROM Manager and ran "Fix Permissions" and rebooted.
Once I rebooted, I was back to being stuck on the Nook Color boot animation. The animation just plays part way through and then starts over and goes on forever.
If I don't run Fix Permissions, what problems will I have? That seems to be the part that is preventing me from booting.
Or any ideas what's going wrong?
