[Q] MIUI contacts question

Hi guys, I have just flashed MIUI and I love it, my favourite rom so far. I just noticed though that in contacts the number (i'm in Australia) is shown as XXX-XXX-XXXX. Is there any way to remove those dashes or change them to XXXX-XXX-XXX? It's just what i'm use to here down under, its in no way a deal breaker if it can't be done though. Thanks

Can't you press the menu button and edit the number entry?

nah I tried that it doesn't remove the - it removes the number

[Q] "Set as wallpaper" lowers image quality dramatically!

its like you are saving a gif in ms paint.
its 1600 1200 image for example,
you enlarge orange box to maximize area etc,
saving message pop up
when u return home, i want to throw the phone somewhere
why is this compression even exist?
i dont know how to fix it.
tried several apps but nothing.

What rom are u using? Can be fixed via build.prop, if i m not wrong...

no i tested it with some wallpaper apps. definetly gallery does that. or a setting behind it. dunno :/

i installed quickpic.
saved image as a "quickpic wallpaper"
its all better. no pixelation or distortion anymore

Multimedia messaging

Hi, sorry if this is a noob question, but whenever someone sends me a picture message, why do i receive it as a video, even when its not a video. Also the picture and video size is very small when viewing it... any help is appreciated..thank you.

What ROM are you running? Stock or custom ROM. Also what carrier

I'm running MeDroid - v6.1 - 7.2. My carrier is Mobilicity.

Not too familiar with that ROM or carrier but look to see if you have any kind of settings to change User's Agent. Look in the stock messaging app.

I do have an option to change user agent...which one shouls I use?

Find a device that you know is an official phone for your carrier. Nokia N95 work for most.

Ripper Rom Text Message Problem

Hi
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post but I flashed the Ripper Rom with Aroma options.
Since then I have a strange text message problem. Basically I can receive messages fine, but any message from anyone starts a new message chain. I'll be texting someone several times over the course of 30 minutes and every message I receive starts a new message thread/chain instead of putting it in an existing text message thread with my response.
I hope that makes sense.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be the issue?
Oh and this happens on the default message app and on messenger metro.

I had that problem 2 a while a go. Dont remember wich rom and version though... U should ask in the RipperRom forum, they probably know how to fix it... Until then u can try selecting another sms app in aroma options (if there is one...) or download a sms app from market...

Do you know how you fixed your problem?
I tried posting there originally but I can't post in the development section until I have 10 posts and I don't want to spam a load of topics just to get access there, as I figured people really wouldn't appreciate that!

Actually i dont know what they did... Its probebly the sms app that needs 2 be fixed. Maybe u must wait 4 a new version or try some other roms. I use pandoriam and dont have that problem. U could try search the forum 4 a fixed sms app and flash it through cwm. Good luck

I've just tried GoSMS and it's working fine there, so I'm wondering if my favoured messaging app just needs a fresh install or if it's a problem that would require an update or a rom to finish.
I'm not a huge fan of GoSMS so I'm still hoping to be able to fix the issue but in the meantime until someone else pitches in or I figure it out it will do.

I think you may be using the AOSP styled mms app. It seems to be a little buggy that mms and can cause that to happen, so I was thinking of removing it next update. It doesn't happen with the stock mms app but just the modded aosp styled

I don't know if it is the same but my gf had this problem on Slim JB on i9000 she fixed it by changing the time and date settings of all things!
I think she unchecked 'let network automatically select date and time' and set it manually.
Maybe try that and play around with date and time settings.
It sounds random but it might work

[Q] Screenshot Share To Message?

I've Noticed This On Pretty Much Any HTC Rom, I'm Currently Using Venom 1.2.1 & Every Time I Take A Screenshot It Says Saving Etc. Then It Gives You The Share Option. The Biggest Thing Missing From The List Is Text Messaging.. I'm Wanting To Know If There's Anyway To Implement That Option.
