2 Plug phone into USB
3. cd to SDK tools/platform_tools (where fastboot and adb are)
4. type: fastboot flash splash1 splash1.DONTEDIT
5. reboot!

4. type: fastboot flash splash1 espresso.nb0
5. reboot!

Hi guys..this is a simple guide for have root rights on your Lollipop build.
Let's go:
If you haven't adb drivers, download THIS and install it,
Download fastboot tool HERE
Download CF-Root tool HERE
Now (after adb drivers installation if you haven't before) extract the content of fastboot tool in your C:\ directory on your PC;
Extract the content of CF-Root tool in te same directory: Example: C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools..see my image:
Reboot your device in fastboot mode (power + volume down);
Double click on root-windows.bat
Warning: If your bootloader is locked..this procedure unlock it and erease your user data: make a backup;
Wait until the process is finished and after reboot your phone;
Enjoy.

if you can explain to me how this thread differs form this one [ROOT] Android Lollipop [LRX21T] [5.0] [Factory Image] in a PM then I will review for reopening.

[MOD] HTC Splash Image

This replaces the first splash image you see when you turn on your phone. This splash image is taken from a HTC One X RUU and replaces the fb splash image. Your bootloader must be unlocked.

Note:
- This has a very low chance of bricking your device. Just don't flash to the wrong partition, and you will be fine.
- If you want to revert to stock, I have also extracted and uploaded the stock fb splash image above.

Installation:
-extract "moto_waves_logo.zip" in the folder where you have Adb & Fastboot set
-reboot your phone into fastboot mode (VOL- and PWR)
-type the following command on you fastboot:
fastboot flash logo moto_waves.bin
