Just wondering if it is possible to use the Hero cdma on the T-Mobile network. If yes, would it be able to work on the 3g network?

By unlocked Hero, do you mean the European version? If so, then yes it will work with Tmobile but no 3G, only 2G EDGE data.
If you mean the Hero from Sprint, then no, it will not work. It's not a GSM phone.
Go for the legend.

Can you unroot a CDMA Non-Sprint Hero back to a "generic" (non-sprint) pre 2.1 version?
When you say "non-Sprint" do you mean us cellular? If so check the website

Yes, its a US cellular, CDMA, Non-Sprint. They don't have any update to 2.1 and since I rooted I am having more problems than fun.
So, I was wondering if there is a way to get back to factory with something as a "generic" CDMA Non-Sprint RUU, if such thing is possible.
If you made a nandroid backup before flashing your 1st rom then you should be able to back up thestock rom then just do a data wipe and u should be good to go but if not ill look around for you

Hello community,
I couldn't find any info through the Search, so I was hoping someone could let me know if a rooted Nexus One for T-Mobile would work on AT&T. I have the unlocked bootloader, custom recovery image and ROM, the whole 9 yards, but what I don't have is the understanding about GSM networks and how the modifications I made to my phone affect the cross-network compatibility.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
The two models operate on different gsm bands. An unrooted t-mobile n1 will work on att, but only on edge..

Rooting should have no affect on it.
And if its the TMO version of the phone you will only have 2g (edge) on ATT. Seeing as both networks use different frequencies. And the cellular antenna will only be tuned to pick up 3g+ signals from TMOs frequencies.

I think..
But AT&T doesn't allow apps to be installed via apk files. So no 3rd party stuff.
If I'm correct.

You are so painfully incorrect. At&t has no presence on this phone. Get your facts right before you post here.
a T-Mobile Nexus One wont work on at&t's 3G network. Only on edge. Rooting has no effect.
Now close the thread.

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew were I could find all the Verizon radios that would work on the cdma hero I've tried 11.0.9 but its not so great I've gone through all the sprint radios and the stock one seams to be working the best but no wear near perfect because I live in the stix lol but I just wanted to test the other Verizon radios just to be sure

Wouldn't flashing a Verizon radio always make you roam? Leading to bad 3G?

Yeah, you can. You'll still connect to sprint.

I'm using nikhil's we want ics Rom. With the newest radio. Phone is about a year old. I'm in Australia on Telstra network and reception is terrible most of time. I have compared phone to stock ones and there seems to be something going wrong with mine as others get better service and stays in 3g.

You are on telstra with the incredible s.
The Inc S supports 3g frequencies of 900/2100mhz
Optus has these 3g frequences, which is why we dont have many problems
Telstra has mainly 3g 850mhz and some 2100mhz. Your phone can only get 2100mhz, that is why you have no 3g most of the time.

Basically you are using a optus optimised phone on the telstra network.

Best answer ever, cheers mate.
So I'm guessing if I was to get a 4g compatible handset it would have fast internet yes?

Is it possible to add support for other frequencies for better coverage?
Any radios or something?

No, this is purely hardware.
Hello. I have just bought a One with Sprint, I tried several Roms and never I Reached 4G in Spain. When I selected LTE or CDMA no data , If I put it in automatic I have 3G or H but never 4g.
Same issue. I know I can get 4G beause when I drive around, my phone has said 4G on it. With that being said, I only get 4G about .00001% of the time im using the network so it goes to 4G when i dont need it. i doubt its my phone its Sprints towers but that really sucks cuz 3G is sooooooo slow for me.
It's probably because your Spanish carrier does not use CDMA or Sprints LTE bands

In Spain for the moment is 1800 and 2600. End of this year also 800 but not yet.
Sprint is using 1900 800 and 2500. The sprint HTC only supports the 1900 lte
