.flv don't show in gallery - Desire HD Themes and Apps

On my chinese Android 2.1 tablet I somehow managed to make .flv (flash) files show in the gallery. I don't really know how I did it but first they weren't there - then they were.
On my DHD .flv files aren't shown in gallery either.
Does anyone have an idea how to make them appear?

Movies on HTC Hero

Hi, new here etc etc.. was wondering if anyone could explain how im supposed to watch mp4-files (Anime) on my Hero?
I dont wanna void my warranty on it.. is it possible doing this ?
Sry for making a post that probably exists.. but im not good with forums
Thx
IIRC, on an HTC standard build, there's no "visible" video player (I could be wrong though!). However, if you have a file manager (e.g, Astro), you can browse your SD card and open it as a video file in a built in player (sorry, I'm running a 2.1 ROM now, so things are probably different for me).
However, the easiest option is just to download a video player from the Market. Personally, I use Meridian.

Dave
i like "video Player" from the market, just install, and pop the mp4 into the video folder that "video player" creates on your sdcard!

yeah i use meridian too! so far not much issue. except for some videos looping back to the first frames. according to the dev of meridian its a known android bug which will be there until it gets fix in the OS itself i guess.
Without a video player app all videos will be shown in your gallery under, surprise surprise, "video's". When you click on a video there it will open the native HTC hero video app.
Don't need a file manager like Astro. Just go into Albums (HTC standard app), then click on All videos" and choose the video you want. It will open up in the native HTC video player.
However as others have said there are plenty of better ones in the market.

you probably used the wrong video codec when you compressed it.

dont think so those same videos were previosly playable on 2.1!
@antikryst thanks
any ideas anyone? anyone else with the same problem?
my nexus is an at&t stock by the way
Yes, my phone too has the same problem. I had few files which stopped playing since 2.2 update. That said, I downloaded another mp4 file and my Nexus One played it perfectly fine. Weird.
are you on the new radio? the new radio has different codecs...
Same problem here man. I have about 11 movie's on my phone + every episode of King of the Hill. King of the Hill is rmvb so I use RockPlayer for those. When I go to the gallery in my videos folder it shows my 11 movies 5 of them have thumbnails and play and then there is the others that don't have thumbnails and don't play but the weird thing is I used the same converter for all of them and the same converter settings and they all played on 2.1 but now only 5 out of 11 do. Weird stuff
Get RockPlayer. It owns.

No it Rocks
I've got the same problem on my nexus one. I can't play most mp4 files and other stuff anymore. RockPlayer is not bad but the video decoding engine of RockPlayer does need more energy as the internal one.
Also rockplayer does not support streaming, so rtsp:// links don't work anymore.
Another issue is with the twitter and twitvid website. It will server a mp4 file (twitvid) of which the system player is capable of playing. RockPlayer is not available to play these files after opening through the twitter client.
I would be very happy about any tip to debug this problem.
Things I tried so far with no success:
Delete cache and data of:
* Gallery
* Mediastore
* Meridian
* RockPlayer
* YouTube

[Q] Lost stock video player app... can someone link me to a copy?

Somehow, my stock Video Player on my NC 1.1 (rooted) has vanished. I don't remember trying to delete it, but sure enough it is gone.
Oddly enough, if I go through the Photo Gallery and select a movie there, it DOES play it using the internal player, so it's there to some degree...
Am I missing something? Do I need to re-install the player?
Thanks!

[Q] Media Files unsupported

Hi all.
I recently noticed that my phone does not support the creation or reading/playing of any sort of media file, spare pictures. I can view and take pictures just fine.
I'm not much of a you tube user, video taker, music listener, or any of that stuff, which explains why it took me so long to notice this.
Basically, you tube wont play videos, all conventional video files are unsupported across the board actually, including capturing video files. Conventional music files are unsupported as well.
My ROM is cognition 4.3 if that's of any help.
I've tried completely uninstalling you tube, camera.apk and the like, but after reinstalling I still don't have any solutions.
Adobe flash is needed for youtube to work. Get it from the market.
What type of music files are you talking about?

[Q] Droid 3 Video problem

I am a movie buff and I like watching them on my phone. I upgraded from a LG Env Touch that I had no problem watching videos. Now that I have a Droid 3 I have not found an app that will let me play my videos. I have install a bunch to find out they will not play my videos in any format. I have tried Mobo player that I was told was the best and that it played most if not all video formats but when I go to click on the folder in which to scan in it shows no videos. If I go to the file folder in apps where the video files would be I click on a video and it ask me what app do I want to play this file and when I select Mobo sometimes it plays but most of the time it won’t. Someone please help with these apps so I can play my movies. I have tried everything I can think of I am a computer person but I think I am doing something wrong. I have tried almost all formats and I have set the conversion program to convert the video to the Droid 3's accepted format and screen res of 980 by 540 and still can't get it to play. What is messed up is that the Motorola app ZumoCast plays all my video off my computer by a 3g connection linked to my computer but I can't find a standalone app that will do this. "Please help me"
I know it's by no means a fancy video player, but I have no issues loading on videos and watching them in QuickPic. I use .wmv shrunk down so the height is 480 and the width whatever keeps the original ratio. I placed them in the external SD card's DCIM folder then added that folder to QuickPic's gallery. I like QP because it allows you to select which folders are in your gallery. Essentially, you could have a folder called "movies" and that would be a sub-folder in your QP gallery.
I use the classic rock player and it plays anything.
