I need boot animation help please - Android Themes

I'm trying to create a custom boot animation for my rooted Incredible and can't seem to get it to work. I'm not sure what I am missing. The phone just boots with the black screen. Are there certain resolutions I'm supposed to use? Maybe a certain dpi? Any guidance would be appreciated.
I've attached it here. Yes, it's terribly simple and not that exciting. But, hey, I like it.

Everything looks like its set right but it doesn't work on my axis either. Try downloading another boot and look at their desc and compare

I did just realize that I didn't save the desc.txt file right. I re-saved it as a UNIX file, and tried again, but it still doesn't work. I've compared it to other ones and I don't see a difference. Not sure what else to try.
EDIT: I got it! Not sure what exactly the difference is, but I copied a similar desc.txt file from another animation and it works now. Again, not exactly sure what the difference is, but I'm not complaining. Thanks!

So here is the working version. But I still can't figure out how to make it smooth. I've reduced the image size with no effect. I've toggled the fps up and down with no effect. What else can I do to make it more smooth???
EDIT: I added a continuous scroll to it, but it still doesn't act right. It's still choppy for one. But after the initial scroll, it jumps back to an earlier image and then goes to the continuous scroll. WTH am I doing wrong?

Shameless bump...
I still can't figure out how to make this more smooth and stop that weird graphic glitch when it transitions from the initial scroll to the continuous one. Please help me. )
EDIT: I think I got it. I left a couple images in there that I thought I had deleted. It's still a little choppy, but much better.

Thanks all for the help!

5-copy the file that you've downloaded into “system/app” (overwrite it)
6-restart the phone and set your live wallpaper
thanks!
... is not at least 10 characters.
Works great! Although I'd prefer a bit more quality on the background. I figured it should have been better being a direct pull from the Nexus S.
Anywho, I sorta remade the static background of it last night pretty quickly on my laptop with no mouse since I dig the design. Maybe those of you with the Nexus Revamped Pro edition may want to use it with a custom background so it looks a bit better.
Thanks for this. New look for today.

It's not a direct pull from the Nexus S. This is just a look alike made by the3dguy. The real one will look nicer when we get it.
Ahhh I stand corrected. Only one more day I suppose
Found this in yet another system dump people are doing. Still doesn't look that crisp.

[THEME][PORT]BurntGingerBread CM7[FIXED]

***Updated***
This is a port of the BlackFroyo theme you can find at the following link for CM7. I have fixed all the original issues I was having and now everything is in working order. For a better explanation of the port you can visit the following link or just take a look at the following screenshots I have posted below. If you want the matching apps you can find them in the original authors thread. I didn't make an effort to port them because the stock gingerbread apps are black enough for me, I just wanted this theme as it adds a little more black and white to the Nexus S.
I am working on squeezing this into an update zip that doesn't require the rest of the rom...just the device seems a bit finicky about wanting to accept certain zips. So hang tight in the meantime.

If you are interested in flashing this you can download at the following:
http://www.multiupload.com/8P80KUUJOF
This will flash right over your previous CM7 installation with no problems and will retain all the original apps youve installed...you will just need to reinstall gapps and everything will be back to normal after you resign into your gmail account.
**All the normal disclaimers...Flash at your own risk, not responsible for any flaws or errors you make in flashing**

Screenshots ? Im definitely down to help! Will flash and send some feedback your way tonight or tomorrow morning depending on when I can do it.
Installed without any issues. Looks nice with the Black mms and Gmail.
No Problems So Far... Installed Without a hitch
Thank You for the Port. The black's look amazing on the SAMOLED

Using it too looks nice. Feedback for you tho, if you go into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, the options that are not available (supposed to be grayed out) are blacked out and therefore you cant even see what they are supposed to say
Yea just noticed that to but everything else looks good
Alright I'm pretty sure I know which PNG that is, so ill check it as soon as I can get home to my computer. Thanks!
sweet let me know and ill try it out for you if you want.

Boot Animation Thread

So, I like to make boot animations. I used to make them often before I got into theming roms and apps. Here's a few that I have for the D1 so far though:
If not already named specifically bootanimation.zip, they WILL need to be renamed and replace your original bootanimation.zip. There are tons of tutorials on how to do this, but if you need help, please feel free to ask. If you're interested in these being inside of an update zip to flash via Recovery, I can do
that too.
*A few of these have been posted before, in the Droid Eris forum. However, these have been reworked and optimized for HDPI devices.
Assassin's Creed:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/bootanimationAC.zip
This looks something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But, better quality, little faster, etc. Just giving you a rough idea.
Batman:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/bootanimationbatman.zip
This is the general idea of the animation:
However, it has been improved since that one, just didn't care to update it.
It ends with this wallpaper:

Sourcery:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/bootanimationSR.zip
This is a clip from a cutscene in Epic Mickey for the Wii. It was made with the Sourcery rom in mind for the theme, but it's still pretty cool.
Cool Loading Screen:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/bootanimationLoading.zip
This is a loading screen that I found on Youtube (thanks to Nitrammn) and was requested to be turned into a boot animation by an XDA member.
It looks a little something like this (if you don't want to check out Youtube):
Droid X Never Miss:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/bootanimationEye.zip
This one is in landscape and is a little larger, so doesn't play quite as fast. Certainly not the speed of the gif...LoL If this needs to be optimized a little more for your phone, let me know.
Halo Reach:
From a trailer or cutscene from the popular Halo Reach game. Not really sure which one I got it from, so I'm not including a GIF for this one. It's pretty sweet though.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9903887/bootanimationHal0.zip
Thanx.. I really like the loading one
Thanks! I wish I had a preview for the Halo one...that one is pretty sweet too.
Boot Loading is HVGA (320x480) ?
These are pretty awesome, are there any others you have any others tucked away

Well, err... here.

VZW_bootanimation.zip - logo animation in jpeg @ 15fps
FinalThunder.mp3 - HEV suit "login" sound from the game. "Welcome to the H.E.V. Mk. IV..." that junk.
I've packed everything. I think. Please let me know if there's anything missing or something goes haywire or something.
Oh god how do I use this thing?
Unpack and rename "VZW_bootanimation.zip" accordingly. Some versions of stock ROMs use VZW_bootanimation.zip, others use bootanimation.zip.

Nice work.

It really would be nice...

[BOOT ANIMATION] Bug Droid

This animation was originally created by DTSPowaa http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ewdmNxwZGk
I just took the video and turned it into a boot animation.
I am not responsible for your impatience to read on how to properly set up a boot animation. So if something happens, your fault.
This is setup for 480x800 screens. If yours is different you can edit the DESC.txt to fit your screen.

After putting this in your /system/media or data/local (depending on your rom) folder, set permissions like this:
DOWNLOAD
Non Flashable
Flashable (Will not flash on 2.3.4 or higher, use the non-flashable and push, also flashes to /system/media)
Very cool! I'm gonna install it, thanks!
Any chance you'd like to make another one? There's this "Droid-Nom" video on Youtube (unfortunately I can't post the link being a new user), but you can check it by searching, there's only one, can't miss it. Very cool as well, imo.
That is pretty neat. I'll message him and see if I can get permission to use it. Thanks.

Hopefully he won't have a problem, please keep us posted.
I have permission to build it. I have portrait and landscape versions going. Just need to do a mass rename of almost 300 images for each version, and then it will be posted up. I can finish them after work tonight, so around 6 am EST.
Also going to re-build this to have sound along with the next one.
Whoa, that was fast, you're the man! That's a ton of images, though, didn't realize it would be that many. I personally would be interested in the landscape version as it's going on my tablet. Having sound would be great, can't miss that droid burp . Thanks a bunch for doing this!
Hey, are still going thru with this or did you change your mind?
Sorry. Got really busy this week getting a car up for sale.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
No problem, just wanted to double check, before may be trying to do this myself. I've just never done anything like this before, so I know it would take me forever to figure everything out.
