I don't know how useful it could be to an infrequent US visitor unless you have some kind of proxy or vpn setup but here you go.

Please PM me once you've downloaded it. I don't want to waste my Dropbox bandwidth by having people hotlinking it or anything.

Trouble installing apps w/gingerbread

This might just be the hardware, but I've been trying all day to install dolphin or skyfire but so far I can't seem to get it. I can see all the add-ons to dolphin but not the actual browser.
On another note, is there a way to get the default mail app on this?
I can't honestly say its not your gingerbread but ont he g2 on ginger bread it works really nice

As far as I know posting the .apk for a free app is ok. If not, please tell me and I'll edit this post.
Here's the Dolphin HD apk for you to sideload.
The apk worked fine. Thanks. I noticed something though...when i go to the android market website and I see my device, I see this:
"this item is not compatible with your device"
How do I fix this?

Safe site other than Market to download APKs?

I am not talking about paid/warez APKs, but would like to know if there is a trustworthy site that I can download free APKs from? For example, Softpedia is usually my goto site for freeware when I am looking for PC apps. Does such a site exist for Android? Thanks in advance for your replies and have a great day!
I forgot to mention that I am currently trying out the Amazon App Market.
Thanks,

Yes it does.
pandaapp.com is another good one. thats what i use for all my questionably legal app downloads
Same Boat
Why be so judgy im in the same boat also looking for a place to download to my pc because i have a game room that my wifi doesn't reach and the apps can only be downloaded via wifi or 3g (if available) using the play store, I would like to see google incorp. direct download to the tablet and phones via usb using your pc as a medium aka as long as your android device is connected via usb allow direct download
You can always try 4shared.com
I usually buy apps, but sometimes I like to take them for a spin before I buy them to see if it's worth it.
Remember, always support developers.
SlideME.org
I would say just search Google with the app name and .apk at the end. Works most of the time and I find the ones I need with no problem.
I would not recommend the Amazon App Store because last few times I downloaded, it would just bug out. Not sure if they fixed it now though.
APKs FOR THUNDERBOLT
TRY "MARKETPLACE.COM/ANDROID" see if you can't find something. I have in the past. At least give it a try
Good Luck

play store (android market) can wireless push / synch apps from android.market.com to any device synching to your google account / device. no need for usb. this has been available forever. as far as trustworthy freeware sites, some torrent trackers as well as a few other d/l hosting sites cater to this, but not many unfortunately.
I never had a problem with Amazon app store, plus you get a free paid app everyday.

Mediafire for sure. 4shared is also a great site.

[Q] Downloading from Megaupload

OK. Yes I'm a noob and yes I've searched.
I've been with apple for several years, so theres a learning curve I'm currently adjusting too. I've finally seen the light and love my LG Thrill.
I'm not sure if my issue is with all android phones or specifically with LG Thrill. I thought I'd post here first.
So.. when I was with apple I was able to download or stream movies through Megaupload. (contingent on the available option). However, when I try to download a movie from my LG it will only stream. Though, there where times I was able to download a movie (vary rarely).
I tested this with my Iphone and was able to download movies that the LG would only stream.
Does anyone know how to correct this or download rather than stream from Megaupload?
I recall the Iphone had a download to phone toggle, but I could not find one for LG (if it exists).
When you click the link do you get the execute or download option?
You can also try another browser, I recommended Dolphin browser. That browser should give you the download option.

If you want to download something download an app called download all files and this should work

It's a website that provides two links. One to stream and one to download.
When I click the download link it directs me to Megaupload. After waiting the 45secs, I've tried both clicking and holding the link. Clicking the link will stream the video instead of downloading and when I hold down the link I don't get an option to execute or download. Though, I was able to get the execute or download option once.
Do you think I need to enable or disable something in my phone settings?

Yup, tried that. Didn't work. Thanks though!
Did you try downloading it on a computer and putting it on the phone

Ugh.. Finally figured it out! Where's the facepalm icon when you need it.
The reason why I didn't get the execute or download option when I long press the link, is because I was going through the app. If I go directly to the website, where the app links to, through the stock web browser and long press the "regular download" link, I get the execute or download options. Or in our case with the Thrill you select "Open".
Thanks everyone for your help!!
Btw, I didn't want to bore you on how I figured it out, but through my journey I found this cool app - Copy Paste It. You can copy any text on your phone, even if it's an image, and paste it in a text box. Pricey, but I"m sure you know how and where to get it for less

This is something I don't want to have to. I want to be able to download directly from and to my phone.

Nook Friends??

How do you manage your "Nook Friends" without the stock Nook Color Nook app?
The Android Market Nook app doesn't have this feature, and I can't find anywhere to do this on the desktop website either.
Anyone figure this out??
I'm Running CM7 of course.
Anyone?
And is there a way to do LendMe via CM7?
It's a stock only feature.

If you long press a book and then "details", don't lend me books show a tab for it? Looks that way on the B&N website. I can't check as I do not have any lend me books. They are few and far between.....
