+1 for Trillian.

Where did you guys get Trillian from? I don't see it in my Market ...

Even though AIM kinda sucks, I use it for AOL and Facebook usually.
I even tried APP Brain to install it, but not dice.
ADB install it or use Astro or something.... Here's the apk (just got it off my DroidX)...

Bought it from the market.
Magically transmitted across the interwebs by my kickass NookColor!

I have had a lot of success with meebo. IM+ gave me tons of issues.

I do like trillian. Almost every protocol. Shrug.

IMO IM worked great for me. Used it for msn and skype!

I use meebo. Used to use it for a cloud client till I found imo, but the meebo android client is nice. I tried the trillian beta but it seemed to sip more resources than meebo, but that could just be in my head. on windoze I still use trillian, and I haven't tried it since it became a paid app on android, so it could have improved.

Anyone know of a good "working" bittorrent client?

Subject says it all

I'm using mTorrent Lite for when im connected to WiFi. Works great. Obviously not suggested when on 3G.
what about something like PeerGuardian/equivelant to go along with it?
I'm using mtorrent as well but only getting 1mb sec load speed. I have 4 meg DSL.. shouldn't it be at 400k a sec?
In the same vein, has anyone seen a usable Usenet app?

I'm trying to use mtorrent but every time I try to add a torrent, nothing happens. It keeps saying to add a torrent. How is everyone else using mtorrent.

I use NewzDroid and it does exactly what I expected it to. They also make the software Unrar and Unrar Pro... it would be really nice if they would just integrate the applications together though.
I see that there is now another offering on the Market called Droid NewzLeecher (which appears to have some pretty bad reviews)
The app that I use is ttorrent and I love it. I have tried all of them and this one is by far the best. I get speeds on average of 250kb/s but that might be due to the speed of my wifi connection.

I don't have a Xoom, but on my Nexus One I use the free uTorrent remote app. This is not torrenting on the phone, it torrents to my home computer running uTorrent. However, the app allows you to download the files from your home computer once they are completed. It is a very clean app and works great on my phone, so if it runs on the Xoom and that way of doing things works for you, it might be a great solution.
I'm aBTC on my desire. Give it a go.
swarm is one of the best clients i've seen, but it is $5.

[Q] Wondering about Evernote and Dropbox

Do you know if/how well Evernote works on Honeycomb on the Xoom?
I sort of figure Dropbox works OK, but would like to know about your experience with that too.
Thanks!
I've only used it lightly over the past 2 days but Evernote appears to work OK. No FCs that I can recall.
I use both and they work great!
I haven't had issues with either application, both seem to work great and I have been using them extensively on the Xoom. Evernote updates rapidly between. My EVO and Xoom as well.

Same for me on my Xoom. Both work great. Evermore doesn't look all that nice but it works flawlessly for me.

Thanks for all the replies everybody. I use both apps extensively, so it's good to know they'll work with the Zoom.

Best Twitter app?

So what do you think is the best Twitter app? The official is really good but it lags insanely. That bothers me... If you guys got some good Twitter apps... Please share.

Does it get updated anymore?
I use Tweetdeck with Tweetdark theme.
Its a sweet look (very black with white text) and Tweetdeck combines feeds like facebook if you want.
Definitely recommend.

Plume free here.
though am seriously considering paying for the adverts to go away.
and yes, I got an update the other day.
If seasmic allows dark theme, it will be the best, for now, plume.
Does the paid version of Plume let you set which region you want to see trends from? I'm using the free version at the moment and it seems to only have US trending topics (or world, maybe). I don't really want to pay for it if I can't set it to UK topics.

Google Chrome on a GB TB

Found this. It will install on our TB, but I do believe it is not fully developed. But it is still nice to have Chrome on a GB Device.

According to one of the comments on that page they say it's not Chrome and instead a Chinese browser called Miren. I have not downloaded this yet to try it out. Miren use to be on the android market about a year ago.

No, its clearly not chrome. It's supposed to give the feeling similar to chrome, and it certainly does. But after trying it, I'm just going to stock to the stock internet browser.

[Q] Wifi-only app that lets S1 and BB communicate?

I have a rooted/rommed wifi-only S1 and my GF has a Blackberry 9780. She is currently overseas for X amount of time and the only way we can talk is by calling each other which is extremely expensive, or using skype which means she has to borrow a friend's laptop or android device. She has service on her phone over there, unsure of what type of plan.
I came up with the idea of using my old BB 8330 and figuring out how to use BBM or something similar on wifi-only, but it turns out that 'ol phone doesn't have wifi on it. It's too bad I sold my last BB some time ago which was an 8530 and had wifi. Oh well.
Anyways, I'm now wondering if there's an app I can use on my S1 that she can also use on her 9780 that would allow us to text and or talk. Something like BBM that doesn't require me to have service or a data plan. I imagine there's at least one app out there that would do this and also be available to BB users.
Thanks.
What about the WhatsApp Messenger by WhatsApp Inc. In the Play Store ?

I read somewhere that it uses your phone number but can't seem to confirm that.
I'm pretty sure we can use KIK but it's text only. I may be getting greedy with wanting text and talk, but having both would be awesome.
Does her phone have a browser? If so, you could use any site like ebuddy to talk. Or even get on something like palringo (dunno if there's a bb version?) but there must be something alike.

She has service and we *think* her data is unlimited. She also has a wireless router at her flat so wifi helps if the data is limited/costly.
We're trying to use apps over our current methods or using something browser based mainly for convenience. Something like whatsapp or KIK would work perfectly from what I understand, but they're text-only. Not a huge problem, but if I can find text+voice that would be great. Skype is normally the answer to that question but her phone, or more specifically her service provider, isn't compatible with skype from what I'm seeing.

I went with Kik for now. It's actually a pretty cool messenger app. Clean and fast.
I haven't yet found anything that covers both messages and voice in app form other than skype which I confirmed is not compatible with her model of phone.

Preferring to stay away from browser since apps are far more convenient and because browsers always run very sluggish on my cappy for some reason.

Should hassle Ebuddy to make a app then lol
But if you wanna try it, there's a bare naked browser (ugly but fasssst) on here. Called naked browser I believe.

Looks like the exact app I need and it's compatible with blackberry. Will give it a try. Thanks!
ETA: Looks like Blackberry devices can not use the VoIP feature yet but they say it will be available eventually.
Turns out you need a number for viber and my device is wifi-only. After some research I found that you can use any phone number that can receive SMS because it's for them to send you a registration PIN. I tried both my GV and Heywire numbers and haven't received that text on either one. :\
