I doubt it beings as it works within the calculator but the g sensor only works with certain things on certain ROMS. Might be worth checking out a few g sensor apps or games that'll test your gravity sensor.
install Auto-Rotate or better changescreen and add options for different applications!
I installed an app on my Pure called "TD2 Tools". I got the app from FreewarePocketPC.net and it lets you do some decent customization to the phone.
The app has a tab at the bottom of the screen called "White List" and when you open it says "G-Sensor White List Manager". It shows all the installed apps currently supported by g-sensor. You can add ANY app to that list very quickly.
I'd suggest you get TD2 Tools from the website, or just install Omarket and search for it in there.

Smart Keyboard Pro has finally released a MultiTouch Enabled on screen keyboard application that works very well and very responsive compared to the stock android keyboard, but the only thing is that it works for Android 2.0 and up. But i was wondering if any Dev could maybe look into this app and steal some codes from it and maybe incorperate it into their 1.6 and up roms, such as Cyanogen and etc... Thanks. This is all android roms have been missing and if this was incorperated into roms I shall say the roms will finally be complete!!
So did Better Keyboard! and it works on any Android OS version

And why not just asking me, instead of talking about "stealing" my code ?
(I hope you were not talking about the Pro version)
I think it's possible to backport to android 1.5+, but of course multitouch will not work, as it's only available in Android 2.0 framework
Happy stealing
How do I enable this properly? I've done it in settings but still most the apps have the android keyboard
By reading the FAQ
How do I enable the keyboard? Go to "Language and keyboard" settings, and check the "Smart Keyboard" box. Then chose "Smart Keyboard" in the "Input method" dialog, which appears after a long press in any text input box.

thanks for ur information v:good:
We have just released a new application in the market called BarTender:
The application can be found in the category Tools.
Description:
Transform your notification bar into a complete menu!
BarTender allows you to easily add shortcuts and folders onto the notification bar. This way your favorite contacts, applications and other available shortcuts are always easy to access no matter what application you are in.
Let me know if you like it or if you have any requests / bug reports!
Going to check this out right now
Sent from my HTC Dream G1 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Hmm you should do the same thing that the guy that made SetCPU where he posted a free version on XDA and put the donate on the market lol because some of us are too poor ^^
I've been looking for this kind of app for ages now -.- lol
There is now also a lite version available for people to see if they like it.
For folder support and upcoming features you will still have to get the full version, but i think this will give a good idea how the product works.

The Lite version appears to work great, but from what I can tell, it really drains the battery. Is this an isolated incident to me?
It shouldnt drain any battery because all it does is add the notifications and stops itself until you save again ( then it re-adds the newly configured ones ).

You're right. It was isolated to me. But thanks for the explanation...that's pretty cool how it works. I thought it was like running in the background or something.
I had extended the compass sample in the SDK to include the gyroscope. However, as I do not have a Nexus S, I was not able to try it at all.
Would anyone please check that the attached apk works properly in the nexus S for me.
It is a very simple application which does not read/write anything to the phone (just listens to sensors and plots a cube to the screen according to your orientation).
The compass part works properly (i checked it on my phone). I wonder whether it works or not when you toggle to gyroscope by clicking the toggle button on the screen.
I do appreciate any help.
who has balls to test this?
I sure dont
EDIT:
This guy below me does

Installs and gyro works fine while in landscape/portrait
But if you switch portait to landscape or landscape to portrait, it resets to the accelerometer.
I never realized how twitchy our accelerometer was. The gyroscope is amazing stable in comparison.
Thank you my friend.
You can't imagine how grateful I am.
Thank you very much.
PS: Thanks to your note, I realized that I forgot to disable the orientation in the manifest. (I had disabled it from the settings in my phone. That is why, I could not notice that).
Why does your app want to access Storage and Phone calls?
Also, do you mind trying to test the rotation vector sensor? I tried to do so, but it seems to lock up and turn into NaNs...

Sure thing, let me know if I can be of any further help to ya.
I found this video today

I would like to know what these guys are using to test the gyro on the NS.. Actually I am not sure this app is actually testing the app or the compass / accelorometer.
any ideas?

Works fine here. When changing the orientation. It resets back to ac c + compass.
Gyro so much smoother
Sent from my Nexus S
as everyone mentioned, its working well on Nexus S!
the gyro working is very fluid! if possible, can you please share the source code? i am mostly interested in how you filtered (low pass filter, kalman filter, etc?) the gyro data and how you mapped the gyro reading to the rotation of the cube? did you use the raw gyro data, or any of the other android function like getRotationMatrix(), get AngleChange(), etc.?
Hi All,
As the title asks... Is anyone else having issues with apps not displaying "fully" on the screen of the Note?
I have an issue with the "Scrabble Free" game where it runs ok but it only shows the game screen in the top left corner of the screen. It is showing the WHOLE page but it is less that a quarter the size of the screen.
Can someone maybe download this game and see if its that same for you? Its free. And if anyone has other apps that they have this issue with then perhaps share them here so we can make a list of these "wonky" apps.
If you know how to fix this then please advise as well.
Thanks,

No. I have not changed the DPI settings at all however I am running Darky Note ROM... Perhaps the ROM has changed my DPI settings? Everything else seems normal on the ROM though except that in the Dialer for example and in the Task Manager app - the Selection Bar that is usually in the top of the screen shows now at the bottom but I thought this may be a feature of the ROM...
What is the standard / stock DPI of the Note?

Thanks for the info. Would you mind perhaps DL'ing the Scrabble game to see if it does the same for you? I have an email out to EA Games on this but have not heard back yet. Perhaps I can get them to update the game for the Note if needed so that this issue can be avoided in the future...

The stock DPI is 320.
But if you have not modded it the chances are that it is at the stock value.
Nevertheless, install any DPI changing software from the market, they generally show the current value. if you are at 320 dpi then it most probably is the problem with the app. otherwise just change to 320 reboot and check

Hmmmmm... Perhaps it IS an app related issue. Can you please install the Scrabble game and tell me if you have the same issue? That would be most helpful.

Could you please post a link to the market?
I should mention that one of my chess clients also does not display properly. Granted chessboards are square...
It's an app issue. Various old apps have this problem.
For some apps, you can download spare parts and enable the compatibility mode.
If I do this for bonsai blast, it runs full screen but it is choppy.

Iam using Spare Parts+ (Plus), It fix this problem for some apps, but some apps are not made for Note, so it will not fix them , for ex. iGO Navigation
Ibrahim keyboard a keyboard for Arabic language. .. Does not show right. .. Smaller and looks funny. .. ..
Also have some app, not the main content of the app, but just the loading is no displaying fully (Match En Direct)
Hi Guys,
Announcing SmartStay Ex. SmartStay Ex is an easy to use and free app that implements one of the coolest features in Samsung Galaxy S3, the Smart Stay. The feature uses the front facing camera to detect whether the user is looking at the phone and if the user is, then Smart Stay makes sure the phone screen stays on so the user can continue to read or do whatever they were doing. If not, it’ll shut the screen off. It thus more accurately controls the screen based on how the user is using it and you can get rid of the annoying action of having to turn on the screen or touch the screen so that your screen stays on.
Features:
* Double checking - preventing screen off from accidental fail detection with double checking feature.
* Idle time feature - allows app to intelligently run the scanning when the device is idle.
* Low Light support - Help the app to function properly under low light environment.
* Exception List - This allows you to specify which app you don't want the app to run on.
* Debug Mode - Allows you to easily see what went wrong with the detection.
* Customizable Polling Time - Enable you to specify the time out customization.
* Premium Support.

ok i read that you are using a Galaxy S GT-i9000, that is not on the compatible list, but have you already installed that on your phone?
Because my phone (Galaxy S Plus GT-i9001) is not listed but it works perfectly.

Hey, using this app at htc sensation keeps my screen on all the time. tried idle time feature on/off. screen doesnt go off the eye icon shows and sometimes only the bottom part.
nice program tho. wish it would work.
cheers!
when you see just the "bottom part" of the eye it means that the camera did not find your eyes on the screen so it will let the screen turn off! In fact is not a bottom part but a closed eye. when the eye is "full"(opened) the camera is finding your eyes on the device so it won't let the scree turn off!
I hope this help you!
