MetaMorph TRON v2.0
This theme was created by RoLa originaly for the nexus. Credit goes to him. All I did was port it to mdpi. This theme is made to work with Froyo/Cyanogen roms using metamorph. I will try to make a flashable version a little later on. This should work with all eris froyo roms.
Note: I would suggest going down the list and applying one theme at a time until you get to the end. A force close is normal when applying "phone.apk". Remember it's always good practice to do a nand backup before flashing anything.
Disclaimer: Like everything else around here, you flash this at your own risk. I am not at fault if you brick your phone.

this looks awesome, im always willing to try sumthing new. bring it on! thanks.
Looks great! I subscribed to the thread to watch for updates...
TRON v1.0 is out Still working on some of the apps but you guys can check out whats already complete. Feedback is always appreciated
added a couple extra screen shots as well
Installed
I have installed the theme. I had issues with the framework update. To get it to complete, I used a task killer to kill all apps and the update completed successfully. I also had issues with the last update. The Phone update would force close the phone over and over again. Once it started, my only resource was to reboot the phone. It does appear that the phone update completed.
The theme looks great. I updated the boot animation with a bootanimation.zip file provided in the FrozenGlass CM6.2 theme. That animation is very TRON-like. I will attach to this post.
Thanks for your hard work!!

I've installed the theme. Good work! One suggestion is to make the phone menu background opaque. The transparent background doesn't look that good for me (see attached image).
Also, I've attached a zip containing a CM Tweak Extras XML file with your colors to make setting them easier. Extract, then copy the XML file into /sdcard/CMTheme. Set the colors via Menu -> Settings -> CyanogenMod Settings -> User Interface -> Tweak Extras -> Select A Theme. Select "tron_colors", then apply the theme.
Finally, are you aware of my app ZipThemer? It provides an alternate way to install MetaMorph themes that doesn't require one-by-one sub-theme installation and make you suffer through multiple spontaneous reboots. It also has a nice undo feature that eliminates the need to use Nand backups to revert the theme install. Best of all its free from the Android market.

Glad you are enjoying the theme! yeah, the phone.apk fc's are normal. There are better ways for applying the theme that i am still looking in to. That's a pretty cool boot animation and does follow the theme really well. Thinking about putting it in the OP.

I'll be looking into fixing the transparent menu along with some other small tweaks in the next couple versions. Thanks for adding the theme colors xml, i'll likely add that to the OP as well. I still need to try your app zip themer it sounds like it makes it a lot easier! would sure beat all the reboots you get with metamorph
Thank you for putting this together. I've been addicted to tron recently. I have it as my ringtone and as my alarm. I switched roms cus their keyboard looked more "tronish." I love everything about this theme. However I can't get the keyboard to copy over. I got it to work with a vanilla rom but not this one. I also had the same FC trouble with the phone.apk.

Its likely you have the gingerbread keyboard with your current rom. For the moment I only have it working with the old vanilla style keyboard. I'll work on making it compatable with both types. fc is normal for phone.apk when using metamorph, but it still applies the theme. Glad you like the theme
Version 1.5 is now up along with some more screen shots. finished themeing the remaining apps along with making a few tweaks and changes to some other png's. keyboard should now with work with the gingerbread keyboard. plus it looks better now too. This theme is pretty much done. I will soon start working on a flashable version.

This theme is awesome!!
Does this work with 2.1 roms? I tried but it got stuck on framework.apk. It rebooted and got stuck again on the boot screen.
Thanks!

Info:
SystemForce is based on the artwork by Homeryulo. I love the iconset and wallpapers so I had originally created this to customize my own G1. I started adding more and more and this is the latest instance of my work. This is a HIGHLY customized theme which was in the Theme competition here at XDA once upon a time. Since then it has gone through endless revisions and updated to SystemForce2 and now SystemForce3 with over 1000+ images edited. There are ports to other rom's linked in the second post if you want to risk it.

How do I read the funky new battery meter?

-Light Green = Meh
-Yellow = Where's my charger?
-Orange = GET OUTA MY WAY I NEED TO CHARGE THIS
-Red = End of the world as we know it.
or like so:
How do I install the extra icons?
-Simply unzip the extras zip file somewhere on your sdcard, use an app such as 'bettercut' to set your icons manually. I will be changing some of the system icons to ones I like, so you can use this to change it as well.
How do I use the extra wallpapers?
-I do include the default main wallpaper in the wallpapers gallery but also offer 3 extras in the extra .zip file I included above. To use this put them in /wallpapers/ folder of your sdcard and use an app like 'wallpaper set & save' to set as wallpaper. Or just use android gallery and install from anywhere on your sdcard.
What if I want this theme for other roms?
-Some great people in this thread have helped porting over some of the theme for other roms: (older versions-only try at your own risk!!)
--JACxROM-1.3r3: SystemForce3.0.2
--JACxROM-1.3r3: SystemForce3.0.2.1

SystemForce3.0.4 for:
--JFv1.5CRB43-US.zip
--TheOfficialCRC1-US..zip
--TheOfficialCRC37-EU.zip
--TheOfficialCRC1-ADP.zip
What if I want this theme for Cyanogen's Experimental roms?
Since the whole google/cyanogen fiasco I realized this may be the last experimental rom for a while so I went ahead and ported the theme for it.
-SystemForce3-(v1.0e) (runs on CM 4.0.4 - uploaded September 26, 2009)
I don't like the GOLD color scheme, do you have it in other colors?
-Simple answer: No. Long answer: The original artwork is mostly in the gold color you see most of the images based on. If someone wants to go through all the images and change them to different colors, by all means feel free to do so and I will link them here. Flash these only at your own risk, I can't take responsibility for things others have made
Current available colors:
SystemForce3.0.4.4 in BLUE: Download from snyper2k2
-Works in CM 4.0.4
-Haven't personally tested it, just signed and uploaded.

I tested this on CM 4.0.1 extensively. Its perfectly safe if you have the proper rom. After the initial install, it may stay on G1 screen for a minute or two, just give it time and it should get to the animated boot screen after that.

Thanks! Going to continue making newer themes too hopefully once this thing is out of the way. I'm itching to make more now that I got the hang of themes again. No offense to anyone out there, but you can only have so many hero based themes. Rosie was pretty, but now she's just a common hooker it seems :[

Next on the list of to do's are of course the widgets. Since those are .9.png files and I've been off my main computer for a while, I'll have to work on them when I can. I don't use htc music either, so everything themed will probably be the stock stuff.
Thanks for providing the advance launcher for others as well, I stopped using it when Cyan dropped it. I had cut down to 3 screens anyway and I didn't use folders.
Great looking theme. Runs smooth and haven't notice any slowdowns that I have noticed with some other themes.
I flashed the theme no problem but I cant flash the extra pack. any suggestions?
kinda of a noob question...but can some1 tell me how to install the extras on ma fone?
Excellent job....thanks
Excellent theme. You and MOONSPOON are changing the game (at least when gchrome is released).
It's also the first theme I flashed on 4.0.1 with no force closes (probably just my luck).
I think any personal request were previously addressed, so I'll just say can more of the icons be built in?
As far as the install question, you need WinRAR to open the file to changes the drawables and such, then you can replace the icons with the ones in the extras folder.
Going to try Advanced Launcher now. Thank you for posting that, I was just about to theme it as I read this.

There should be not a single force close issues as long as you're loading it on proper CM Rom. Believe me I made sure I tested it way too many times before I release any of my themes.
As far as other icons: yes more of them will be built in as they were in the rc33 version of this theme.
To use the extras: Do not flash it as an update.zip, its simply a zip file with an icons folder and a wallpapers folder.
The icons you can use if you have bettercut/anycut to manually change your system icons to match.
The wallpapers you can drop them in your sdcard and use it with the theme as any wallpaper. I suggest you download 'wallpaper set & save' from market, put them in /wallpapers/ folder and use the app to set it to get a non pixelated wallpaper.
I've added the frequent questions to post #2, people who have trouble with the extras zip file, check that.

Info:
AlienAqua is a theme based on the Alien Aqua icon set. I had started this theme back on RC33 but always had put it off since I was trying to find the right wallpapers and images to go with it. Finally after finishing SystemForce I decided to take up this project again. There is apparently a AlienAqua based skin for aHome already but this is in no way connected to that. I haven't really even seen what it looks like.
KNOWN ISSUES
-Note: If you flash from a theme with the new lockscreen, you may get force closes randomly on various apps and crashes. To fix this you must flash the CM ROM over again to replace all the files the lockscreen themes change and then flash my theme on top of the rom. This is just how the theme templates are set up, it does not replace all the leftover files.

I can do that, here you go. But chances are that if the site is blocked, then you wont be able to download the zip as well :[ Sorry dude. Not sure why some firewalls/blocks list my site under 'porn', it has nothing of sort on it. Must be the server its hosted on.
I've attached a giant jpg mockup of all the screenshot for the 0.1 version of the theme. (I clerify this because I'm sure minor things will change in upcoming versions)
(apparently there is a 640x640 size limit on the forums for jpg's..heh but you get the idea I guess)

Thanks everyone! Glad this theme's getting good reception. It's been just sitting on the side for too long now and I figured it was time.
That's easily fixed, I'll be sure to remember that in next update.
If someone ports it I'll link it, but otherwise stable should be coming soon anyway so I'll just wait.

How good are you with the colorpicker? :] This was the last updated pallete I was using on the theme, take your pick:
Android 2.0 stock theme for AOSP 1.6 (donut)
Version 1.2, this theme is now ported to MetaMorph!
Update: Ported to MetaMorph and some small changes (see changelog below)
Thanks to jroid and AndroidFiend for testing, giving feedback and advice and for the morphs to customize this theme!
This theme is now for MetaMorph only, make sure to read the install instructions.
This theme started as my personal mod but i decided to make it public for those of you that just want to see some bits and pieces of Eclair or themers that want to use some resources.
Everything is based on Android 1.6 (donut) and everything is pretty much stock Android with some Eclair and MotoDroid.
You can keep track of this theme with the CyanogenMod Updater (available in the market) by scanning the QR code in Settings-->Manage Theme Servers, or by updating the featured themes list.
Make sure you do not flash the MetaMorph file when you download it using CMUpdater, this won't work. CMupdater can only be used for update notifications and to download the MetaMorph file. The file downloaded by CMUpdater needs to be placed in a folder on your SDcard called 'AndroidThemes' and needs to be applied using the MetaMorph application.
Or you can follow this theme's progress on twitter.
Make sure to check out the resources section for extra customization options.

Todo:
-Improve lockscreen
-Improve dialer
-Improve tabs
-Style all alarmclocks
-Add eclair stuff as it comes in
-Style in-call dialpad
-Make larger battery for alt lockscreen.
-Fix transaparent music widget.

Install instructions:
First read what Stericson has to say himself.
Next download and install MetaMorph from the market and download and install AndExplorer from the market. Make sure you put the Morphs posted in this thread on your SD card in a folder called 'AndroidThemes'. Point the MetaMorph application to the morph you want to apply using AndExplorer and apply all subthemes or just the bits you like.
This theme also support AdvancedLauncher both as a stand-alone version or the Home replacement version. Download link for the AdvancedLauncher is in the resources section. If you want to use the AdvancedLauncher as a stand alone version make sure you push it to /system/app cause for now MetaMorph won't work on applications installed on the sdcard.
For the lockscreen to work you have to install Stericsons lockscreen which can be found here. Make sure you install a version that is compatible with your ROM.

No, the Cyanogen app drawer comes with the advanced launcher which is running as separate home replacement. I'm not sure on how Cyanogen exactly locks the home app in memory but my guess is that it doesn't work for the secondary Launcher.
Also judging by the performance of the advanced launcher (i found it to be a little bit laggier than the stock launcher) it isn't locked. The lag when using the advanced launcher disappeared when i switched of 'Home app in memory' in Spare Parts.
Thank you! This theme is pretty neat, I like it so far. I thought there was a new lockscreen though?
Any chance we could get a version with the launcher skinned to look like the Droids? That would be awesome.
Check the attached pictures to see what it looks like. Also it looks like the market may have a new icon, could just be for the Droid though.
no idea what to download for cyan 4.2.2
edit; holy dont flash this a bunch of force close errors and i get no service what so ever!

No, the lockscreen is stock Donut (see screenshots). I'm looking into including Stericsons lockscreen if I can theme it to mimic the look of the new Eclair lockscreen.

This is weird. I have not found this yet but i'm testing on a completely stock, fresh CM install with no apps. I'll retest today.
I see you are running Linux swap from your sig.
Try this and see if it cures the problem:
-Nandroid back to the version you had
-Remove userinit script and user.conf
-Drop to console, su and type
rm /data/app/*.odex
rm /data/app-private/*.odex
rm /data/dalvik-cache/*
-reboot and let it startup again (might take a bit longer)
-reboot and flash theme (wiping should not be necessary.
Looked at the Sholes dump but couldn't find new icons. I just decided to create them myself.
These are the first new icons:
Still very crappy, very beta.
Lots of scaling issues and anti-aliasing issues (especially the round icons) but at least I have something to work with.
I'm sure I can fix them to look nice and add some more.
I also started working on the Droid app drawer.
Does the google maps in this have the google navigation in it?

I didn't update swype it just naturally matches it. I do plan to theme the gingerbread keyboard like that though. It should work fine on 2.1 but it won't look right. This theme doesn't change text color. It's pure image editing. I believe I posted a 2.2 to 1.2 cwm zip in the glowen thread. You could use that then this right in a row then reboot. Fyi the 2.+ versions of andromeda are not newer just the themed version with orange.
Ninja update : music notification bar is now matches the theme.

Ah, I get what you mean then. Come to think of it the stock swype does seem to match it. Overall its a pretty cool theme. Much more unique than most of the wannabe tron legacy themes out there.
I'm going to be working on it a lot. Once I figure out how I'm going to handle the icon set and the launcher it should make a dramatic difference too. Going to take a few days off first though. Lol busted my ass to get it where it is now.

Haha there are like a million different color toggles on the market. I'll probably just leave it how it is. Plus I'm going to busy with icons for awhile. I'll think about it when they are done.
Holy **** this is beatiful. Gonna flash andromeda just to try it out haha
Any chance of this being ported over to Perception? No worries if it would be too much hassle, I'm already downloading Andromeda 1.2 to give it a go
Edit: Can i just replace the bootanimation.zip in the andromeda rom before i flash it then? (I forgot the directory it's in, but i guess i can snoop around and find it again)

I'll do ports when it's 100% complete, or close to it.
If I remember right the andromeda zip doesn't have a boot animation zip in it. But can try doing it. If it compresses it won't work. Better to just install andromeda let it do it's first boot then drop the animation zip in /system/media/ then reboot.

Ah ok. I've got the ROM all booted up and themed as well as finished my tibu restore. So far it looks really good, though the loading symbol is a bit choppy looking. I would also like to see some of the menu icons darkened as the grey menu icons don't mesh too well with the light blue backgrounds.
I gotta say though, the pull down menu is absolutely beautiful. And the blue notification bar throughout the os looks very nice. Now I just need to figure out how to theme my notification icons
I'm going to look and see if there's a bootanimation zip in the ROM. if not, does that mean that the rom doesn't support it?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
The loading circle is as intended. Though I may make it semi transparent. A lot of the menus are not how I want then yet. I will probably lighten the menus rather then darken the menu icons. Andromeda does support boot zips, I use the one attached here.
Cool beans, I'll be checking in on the thread for updates to see how it evolves
As for the animation, I dropped the zip into the media folder last night and it worked perfect.

haha nice.
Here's a couple of wallpapers that go nicely with this theme
Herp derp Captivate XDA app.
After i developed the tablet tweaks, a lot of people started modifying framework and systemui to exchange the buttons instead of doing it with a theme. the way they were going just was bad by design. no fixes are included except those people repeat their work with every new nightly build. thats the reason we use theme engine by now. it works for all devices and all versions.
my initial complaints about modifying those files and my suggestion to use a theme were ignored - so i came to the point to do it myself.
all i did was adding honeycomb icons for the soft buttons to the already existing honeybread v4 theme. as soon as there is a new honeybread theme, i hope it features the new buttons - at least i asked for that on the honeybread issue tracker.
get the modified theme here - it will show up with no preview by the name @string/theme_name in front of all your themes - i cannot help that bad behavior by now:
Honeybread-Alpha-V4-Tablet-Tweaked.apk md5sum: d70fb679d7b9d31a0006ed532156dfc7

if you wanna further modify the theme, i also uploaded the decompiled honeybread, including my changes and apktool.

Nice work murdock, and you're right the theme engine is A LOT better than changing each new systemUI. I've been planning on adding similar 3.0 soft buttons to my upcoming honeycomb theme chooser apk and have already gone pretty deep with changes to the status bar, power widget, settings icons etc., but I'm having trouble getting the 3.0 lockscreen and other things like my homescreen/app menu icons to show without supplying an additional zip file (which means ill either have to make a version for each rom, or a metamorph file that makes the apk kinda pointless when I could just add everything to the zip). Do you know if the theme engine is capable of adding the lockscreen or non-stock apps? I haven't been able to find very much out there yet about incorporating additional xml files to the apk, but if you could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it

get the modified theme here - it will show up with no preview by the name @string/theme_name in front of all your themes - i cannot help that bad behavior by now:
Honeybread-Alpha-V4-Tablet-Tweaked.apk md5sum: d70fb679d7b9d31a0006ed532156dfc7
Honeybread-Alpha-V4-Tablet-Tweaked.apk additional mirror
if you wanna further modify the theme, i also uploaded the decompiled honeybread, including my changes and apktool.
honeybread-apktool-source.zip md5sum: 3a44d0f641ed3bb6987ae18c5befd542
honeybread-apktool-source.zip additional mirror
credits: i took the icons from the mod here
and of course to the great honeybread theme itself

After i developed the tablet tweaks, a lot of people started modifying framework and systemui to exchange the buttons instead of doing it with a theme. the way they were going just was bad by design. no fixes are included except those people repeat their work with every new nightly build. thats the reason we use theme engine by now. it works for all devices and all versions.

do you have a tablet?
Morsed by hitting a plastic pipe with my Desire HD. Excuse typos.
Thanks, it looks great, however there are a couple of small problems I'm not sure if it should go into the honeybread issue tracker or here or if they are just caused by something I did wrong.
Quoted from the Tablet Tweak post since I'm having pretty much the same problems (looked a few pages down and no solution seems to have showed up, sorry if I missed it)

Also the Honeybread theme from xda causes your power widgets to be background less although still clickable. weird looking.

Ok, I figured out my issue -- honeybread theme doesn't play nice with the latest build. At least for me. It was causing widgets to fail at startup and my SDcard wouldn't mount unless triggered by something accessing it -- e.g. me opening file manager.
Restored a backup w/out honeybread - Flashed newest build - Rebooted 5 times -
No issues.
Installed honeybread apk - Rebooted a couple times -
No issues.
Applied honeybread theme - Rebooted - Widgets failed to load - SDcard doesn't mount unless triggered - Rebooted a few times -
Same behavior.
Applied default theme - Rebooted a few times
All is well.
Sorry, I know this isn't relevant to the mod, but I know a few people in here were starting to use honeybread, so I thought I'd report what I found.
Now I can start actually playing around with this build.

Just to add that the widgets do load eventually, but it's quite a long wait, and seems to happen after the SD card trigger.
Not a big problem since the only time I reboot is after flashing something in CWM anyway. Just wondering if this happens to everyone or just me.

Looks really nice other than the opaque black dock. Is there not any way to with Honeybread to have a translucent dock? Perhaps the answer is to disable the dock with this theme, but I still like to have one with my four most used apps (browser, email, gmail, and calendar).
Just loaded it on my G Tablet running CM7. Looks awesome. Thanks for your work on this.

I haven't been able to find very much out there yet about incorporating additional xml files to the apk, but if you could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it

with the t-mob theme engine, you can replace any graphic or xml file (animations, strings) below the res/ directory of each app. doesnt matter if its installed or could be installed. about the lockscreen - well - forget about it needs changed code to work like the hc lockscreen. no way to do this via themes. the lockscreen icons themself can of course be changed as you like..
download the sources i posted in first post and take a look into it - should be pretty much self explanatory

honeybread issue tracker! i dont wanna get involved into this theme at all. i just added the soft buttons to stop people modifying the .apk files with winzip - which is really really bad...
Excuse my ignorance but I'm new to Nook and CM7, I downloaded the theme for the installation am I suppose to install via CWM > "install zip from sdcard" which fails "aborted" or am I suppose to drop it in a folder and change it using ADWLauncher?
Great
Hi
installed on my HD2 running a CM7 rom (Hyperdroid CM7 2.0.0)
all parts are themed
Nice work

How did you install it when I try to install it on my Nook from CWM I get the dreaded "ABORTED"
Roger
It's an apk so just copy it to sdcard and run it
The only problem i have with this, is that i only want the buttons. I am using a "Sense" theme that i love, and the buttons work great. If there was a way to have two different themes going, that would be nice (make the button one theme, and allow users to pick honeybread or something else)...

Thanks for the quick reply when I downloaded the file it was a .zip file renaming it to .apk enabled me to install it without errors but it does not show up under "Settings > ADWLauncher > Theme Preferences > Select your theme" any ideas? I rebooted and its still not listed.
Install Instructions
Download the Honeybread.apk
Install the APK
Open the Theme Chooser app
Select the Honybread Theme
After it applies reboot
Enjoy!
Thanks I was trying to use ADWLaucncher not Theme chooser to set the theme it worked, like I said I'm new to CM7 but with help from the community I'm learning.

Wow. Does no one read directions anymore?
Install the apk.
YOU MUST USE THEME CHOOSER
scroll all the way to the left. There won't be a pic, but a string. From mad (IN THE ORIGINAL POST)
"it will show up with no preview by the name @string/theme_name in front of all your themes"
Reboot.
Hey mad, you're pretty good at this whole android thing.
Just a tinsy tiny bug. The sliders in the gui have a slight offset line next to the slider button. No biggie, could just be my 190 dpi.
I'll change and report back if anything changes.
