Hi
My APN settings won't save
I just upgraded my firmware to 2.2 from 2.1
I have a Galaxy S phone
When ever I try to add the settings it won't display the setting & I can't connect to the net through my phone
I m from India & I updated my phone by rooting it & then installing the firmware from Odin
Plz help me
You must manualy input data of your providers APN, like new APN, than save it. Probabily because you have device with different CSC from your region ( India), like me, i have HKDDBT (Germany), and must after evry new flash firmware manualy input APN...
Or you can easy make this with this apk:

Abhishek,
Just a thought. why dont you try installing JVH / JVO 2.3.3 firmware throught Odin. I have these firmwares and its great at the moment. you dont need to manually add APN files as its automatically detected in these newer CSC firmwares.
else install JS8 2.2.1 if you are into serious gaming.

can you tell me from whr can I download them??
I fixed my problem
I downloaded the 2.1 firmware [Asian firmware for my country] from sammfirmware site & downgraded my phone from 2.2 to 2.1 then I got my APN working & my CSC was restored to its original value
Then I updated my phone to 2.2 using Kies & Now I have the official 2.2 android firmware without any problems
So my problem is fixed
Ok I took the plunge and installed :
Update Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 to Stable Gingerbread XXJVK 2.3.3
and also re-rooted my phone.
No I only have a G symbol as to before I was on 2.2 Froyo with no issues.
Im currently on Orange (Contract) in the UK with the same APN settings as before.
Any help on this please let me know.
Thanks

Use Packet Data and Data Roaming are both ticked, does this make a difference?
Also Network mode is on : GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode)
did your modem change when you changed ROM ?
Just find out what modem you should have and re-flash that... also check your APN settings... also do a search in the forums for this exact problem... it is posted like twice a day.. good luck
Hi,
I flashed the latest stable CM7 for the i9000 last night and now i can't get 3G signal. I flashed back to the stock Bell rom and everything worked fine, but when I put CM7 I only get a roaming signal.
I'm on Fido in Montreal and I've put the correct fido apn, but the phone recognizes the sim as CAN Rogers Wireless Inc. Before it would first state Rogers and then automatically switch to Fido and I'd have full 3G signal, but now it just says on Rogers and roaming.
I've tried installing different modem files, but still no luck.
I can't make calls or use the internet.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance!

i hope this help you and don t forgot to save all your files in pc and remove external card
I managed to get it to work after trying different radio and modem files, but now i have another problem.
I am with Fido, but the phone now identifies the network as Rogers Wireless. I know they're both the same network, but before it would be identified as Fido. Is this a problem? Are there any risks of being charged roaming fees?
I'm using the same Fido APN as before...
I rooted my phone yesterday and when my phone wouldn't boot up the rom I installed, I tried to reinstall the backup I had.
After that didn't work, I used odin to flash a stock ROMI downloaded on the internet and it is working now.
The stock rom I downloaded upgraded my phone from android 2.3.3 to 2.3.6. I don't know if that would make a difference.
So after this was all done, I realised I can't connect to 3g or any mobile network.
Why is this?
How can I fix it?
I live in Ireland so maybe it has something to do with the Stock ROM being from a different country?
Sorry, I am a noob at this kind of thing.
If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Hey,
The CSC (what country the rom is from) doesn't matter, I'm running a stock 2.3.6 rom from the UK even though I'm in New Zealand
Try first going into
Settings -> About Phone -> Status.
Scroll until you see IMEI. If this is odd (maybe XXs in the number code or its different), then that explains why your phone can't connect to any network. Maybe from a bad flash- there a tutorials on these forums on how to recover your IMEI.
Also in this menu check your signal status- whether it says "Connected" or "Disconnected" in Network Status or whatever.
Alternatively, go to
Settings -> Wireless and Network -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names.
In here are your APNs- the network "gateways" that your phone connects to for 3G and so on. Make sure these are configured correctly- if not, your provider's website should tell you how to set these up nicely.
Hope I helped
