Hello,
You must install Zune software to connect WP7 to PC.
Without this you cannot sync anything.
Thanks,
Santos
I installed Zuna but it don`t sync e mails
Email sync is a separate thing - go to settings -> email and accounts, and add the details of your email config.
Use your live.com account to collect your emails. in outlook set up a "hotmail connector" account using your live ID and ta da!
I did this to collect emails and sync my calendar/contacts via outlook to my phone. This has the added advantage of not needing to plugged in to sync as your phone will just check the live.com account for updates every now and then.

but I don`t have option ``email and accounts`` in Zuna
^^^
its in your HD7 not in Zune
: )
Also, is this EXACTLY like iPhone where if I connect to two different systems, the data is wiped..>??
No, i connect my HD7 to my Home comp running win 7 & my work laptop running XP. My data is retained on both systems, and nothing is wiped from either comp or my phone

At work i synchronize and update my Wings with Exchange (through Onebridge). At home I want to synchronize my wings with a home pc, I want to update the home pc with email, calendar and contacts from my Wings. Once connecting Wings to the home pc usb-cable, ActiveSync starts to synchronice, and synchronizes calendar and contacts to the home pc Outlook 2007 perfectly. A checkmark is also put on "Email", but my email is not synchronized and updated in my home pc Outlook 2007! Why is that? Could somebody please help me out?
Are you using the same version of outlook at work as you are at home? 2k7? I know with word 10 if you save it as a docx it will not open in the older systems and your phone might not be registering outlook 2k7 for some reason?
Just a thought.
The only connection my wings has with Outlook is at my home pc, through ActiveSync. At work I synchronize directly with Exchange, not with Outlook.
This is what i want for contacts, calendar AND EMAIL:
Wings -> ActiveSync -> Outlook2007 (at home PC)
But only contacts and calendar is synchronized, email is not. Why is that?
Hmm I dont sync anything so I cant help too much, but with the phone connected fire up active sync and under the tools > options there are a bunch of check box's for what you want synced, make sure email is checked and anything else pertaining to it?
I have tried checking and unchecking those boxes...., tried reinstalling outlook2007, reestablishing the activesync connection... still only contacts and calendar are copied to outlook2007.... email is not.
Anybody knows how to get this working on my Diamond
Thx !!
-Dennis...
Outlook anywhere (feature of exchange 2007) is the new name for RPC over HTTPS (exchange 2003) which is how microsoft outlook for a PC desktop connects and syncs with an exchange server.
The PDA equivalent is pushmail, which works a treat !

Go to activesync (on the Diamond, not your desktop). You likely get something saying you want to synchronize with Exchange server, otherwise look in the menu's.
Fill in the details. Remember that if the Outlook webaddress is like ht*ps://exchange.mydomain.com/OWA fill in only exchange.mydomain.com
Be correct if SSL is used etc and fill in other account details.
Be sure a wifi or GPRS/G3 connection is active. Select synchronize. Most likely you get a message saying that the Exchange server must set a security setting on your device. Allow it and it strats synchronizing with Outlook Anywhere.
Quite easy to setup.
You can also set it up via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center on your PC. Select there to synchronize with Exchange server instead of your PC.
Sorry if this has been covered already, I did search but could not find a response that suited.
I was using an HTC Touch Dual, on plugging into my desktop dock it synced with Microsoft Outlook, this was appointments, contacts, calendar etc. I want to do the same with my N1. I assume I need an App that works in a similar fashion to Windows Mobile Device Centre? I did do a little scouting about but a lot referenced doing so via Google. I prefer a non-online method if possible, plug and sync.
Can anyone suggest the best app or apps to acheive this please.
You can check out 'missing sync for android'. They have for both pc & mac.
That being said, i'm afraid i can't be of any more help as i've not used it. Personally pefer syncing to google's cloud
totally new, what is google cloud? and thanks for the info, i'll check it out, in the meantime if anyoone else has any suggestions, please respond.
Additionally, can apps be installed to memory card? if so, how in laymans terms
wow, $39 dollars just to be able to sync :-(
Your Google account, which keeps all the data (contacts, calendar etc) in sync with your phone over the air (or actually, over the data connection or WiFi). It wasn't designed to be plugged in to sync.
Assuming you're okay with syncing your Outlook data via the cloud and not only looking for a direct (ie plugged in) syncing solution, then gSyncit is a good utility to use to sync Outlook data to Gmail account; it's $14.99.
I used to use it before I switched from Windows to Mac at home.
http://www.daveswebsite.com/software/gsync/
I use the Google Cloud too. My info is available in the same form on my computer, my phone, and online. Contacts and Calendar at least. Best part of that method is that if you flash your phone it auto-downloads all your info from your google account when you log-in to through first boot. No plugging in and resyncing. I'm on a Mac, and this is the easiest and cheapest option for me. I won't shell out for Missing Sync because it gave me nothing but headaches for my former WinMo device. Other files are saved to my SD card and I can move them around as I please. Either via USB transfer or Dropbox.

We're using the term 'cloud' here to refer to cloud computing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing) where data is stored by third parties (in this case Google) and accessed via the internet.
Essentially what we're suggesting is that you sync your N1 with your PC's data via Google, ie the third party utilities mentioned above can sync to and from your PC to your GMail account (calendar, contacts, etc). Your N1 will then sync to and from your GMail account.
HTH
many thanks, i'll check the info out, still a shame there is not an offline method, so far being the only downside since my change from htc touch dual on windows mobile.
tried gsyncit but when i click on settings I get an error, perhaps not compatible with windows 7?
Error = Interface not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040155)
at Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass.get_COMAddIns()
at gsyncit.TrayClient.frmMain.OnSettings(Object sender, EventArgs e)
Version = 1.15.27.0
got past the fault, have synced my outlook with my gmail account, however my phone is not synced with it, where am i going wrong please
In your phone it asks you for default account to sync with, when you just start it for the first time.
If you skipped that part - make sure you're on data connection (preferrably WiFi or fast 3G data), go to Settings / Accounts & Sync, press "Add account", add your Gmail account, and enjoy.

I'm running my copy of gsyncit at work on Windows 7 64bit without any issues - I run the 64bit release as I use Office 2010 there.
Best bet is check the faqs on the developer's site, or failing that contact Dave himself - I've always found him very helpful in the past.
See bellow post
never mind, the http://myphone.microsoft.com only works with WM6.
Ok so how can help me get my full contacts, music and pictures from my HD2 to the new phone.
Very retarted I must add. There should be a simple application that allows you to transfer all that data to ur comp or some other place and then back to the new phone, no matter what the os version is like Nokia has.
Please help
Here's what i did:
1. first create a windows live account online
2. sync all your contacts to outlook (use active sync for xp) by connecting ur hd2
3. convert ALL contacts through outlook - access FILE, IMPORT EXPORT, choose EXPORT A NEW FILE, choose Comma Separate Values (windows), then type in preferred file name (take note of file location in ur pc)
4. log in to windows live account, go to contacts page and import the contacts by accessing the file you exported from Outlook.
5. activate your phone's DATA or WIFI connection, and set-up/turn on your windows live account on your hd7.
6. once complete, all contacts should sync on your hd7!
The process is lenghty and i prefer direct sync from outlook similar to WM6.5 but i think Microsoft wants to promote windows live.
Hope this helps!
** btw, for pictures and music, i believe the best way is to use ZuneSW on your pc or use the MAC connector if you're using mac (like me!). both can be downloaded through windows website, just "bing it"!

Thank you for the reply.
Two problems
Cant sync with Outlook, have it installed, set up accounts when I connect my HD2 to it, it tells me that out look is not my default email program, even though its set to be, i checked, then when I go into settings it only lets me sink notes and some other crap, not contacts.
So I used the windows live to sink, or what I though was windows live. but its for V6 only. ( very retarted on microsofts part)
When you log into windows live, it has nothing to do with your phone.windows account.
I cant get zune to install either, gives me a net frame error, even though net frame is up to date.
Im running windows 7, with all latest updates.
Im not idiot when it comes to computer, but man windows is making it tough to do simple things.
I just tried to install that stupid software for the cloud, it would not install any o fit either, cant figure out what is going on.
You guys make things to hard. add the windows live account to your hd2 and have it sync then add the win live account to your hd7. You can also use gmail thru activesync on the hd2 and it will give you an option to sync gmail contacts on the hd7
Never thought of that before! I only opened a windows live account when i transitioned to HD7. I used the hard way (outlook sync), it's great that u suggested an easier one.
Thanks!

Tried the Gmail version when I first got the HD2 and it did not give me option of which way to sync, it saw my gmail account had no contacts and cleared them all off.
Either way, I think microsoft should develop a simple back up and sync system, without having to use outlook or windows live, i dont use either way on a daily basis.

Just tried your idea, went to Windows Live on HD2, logged in, on sync options only option is to show windows live contacts on phone, not vice versa, do a sync, log on to my live account via pc, no contacts shown.
have you actually done this? or just going of of theory?
You should use ActiveSync on your old WM device to connect to your Live/Hotmail-account.
It will sync your phone contacts to your live account which then will show up in your WP7 device.
It worked for me, even though I don't have a hotmail-address.

I've downloaded LG PC Suite and was going to sync my contacts and calendar with Outlook, but then I can't check the box where it says sync with Outlook. Anyone having the same problem?
It's never been a problem before, when I had the SGS or the HTC Desire HD.
Edit: It pops up with something saying that I don't have a email program that can sync with LG PC Suite. But I do have Outlook, and it's full of contacts and appointments that I need to sync.
Why don't you use the exchange sync with the email program (over wifi/data?)

I don't think he have an Exchange server - might be a local sync on his computer he needs.

No I don't have an Exchange server. I'm was thinking of just doing what I'm used to with HTC and Samsung, transfer my contacts and appointments from Outlook through PC Suite.
If i'am not mistaken than you can do the following.
First start LG PC suite
Then select the Contacts
In the left bottom corner you wil see Settings.
If you select this you can check and oncheck your outlook contacts and calendar.
hopefully this wil work

Yes, I see the checkbox, but it's not possible to click on it. And PC Suite says that I don't have a email program and that if I do have I need to connect it in standardprograms i the control panel.
Edit: By the way, I have Office Home & Business 2010. I've read something about this "click and run" option. Don't know what that is though. Maybe that's why LG PC Suite doesn't find Outlook?
Edit2: Solved! I supposed it was because the "click and run" option. I uninstalled it and then it worked
Hello VistaX, I have the same problem. PC Suite (v.4.3.17....) does not allow me to check the outlook sync option.
??? Where did you find and then uninstal the "click and run" option from ?
Was it somewhere in outlook or in PC Suite or in a phone ?
Advice, please.
I have solved my impossibility of syncing Outlook 2010 via LG PC Suite. by using MyPhomeExplorer - it is free on the Market.
LG PC Suite is forgotten - and uninstalled for ever.

There is also another, and as I think more elegant way:
sync Outlook with Google contacts and calendar.
There is a great tool available, called Gsyncit, which will do this. It costs 20$, but I think it is worth it. When configured properly, it automatically syncs Outlook with Google, wich will sync with you phone. You don't have to do anything manually anymore. You don't have to connect your phone to your PC everytime to sync your data and you can alway access your data from everywhere via browser, even if you don't have your phone by hand.
And now, I am not the programmer of this. I only think these are some of the most useful bucks, I have ever spent
You have free tools from google to sync google account and outlook.
I am using mobisynapse, it synches tasks, notes, calendar, contacts with Outlook and it works fine for me.
