I had Phoenix rom, decided to go to darkys because it looked better to me. I flashed Darkys, and it looked good and everything, but i entered Quadrant Standard and im getting score of lees than 720, when with phoenix i got 1000 or more, the graphic says that i have less score than a Galaxy S, what went wrong, is this ok, should i not bother myself with this or what?

Make sure you flash a good kernel.. SpeedMod K12M or Firebird2..
And check quadrant scores.. Quadrant scores don't mean anything.. DG officially hates it!
I have not tried darkeys but, I would reboot try again. No 2.2.1 rom should be that low.
Quadrants do not really mean anything though

While quadrant is not a completely accurate test it can be a useful test to see how the phone performs. A score of 720 probably indicates that something did not take. It's been a while since I have been on Darky's rom but with Cezar's rom and no lagfix I get 1100 quadrant scores which is pretty normal for a 2.2.1 rom without lagfix. Enabling lagfix could bump that to 1300 to 1500 range.
I have gotten 1700 to 1900 scores with overclocking and lagfix before but here's the problem with basing everything off your test score. On 2.2.1 with no lagfix I can't tell a difference in how the phone operates compared to overclocked kernels with lagfix. I can play the same games and watch the same videos and really can't tell a difference. Darky's is a 2.2.1 rom so you should be seeing pretty much the same performance.
Are you noticing any lag? Run the test again to see if the score bumps up?
this will sound stupid, he but i found the problem, with set cpu, i dont know why, but the processor was clocked at 400 mhz, FML!

Hehe nice
As far as Quadrant is concerned, yes in normal cases the quadrant score is pretty meaningless but Im surprised people say that even in this thread. Its meaningless to wonder about getting 1500 instead of 1600, but with scores of 700 clearly something is wrong, and thats exactly what Quadrant *is* useful for, diagnosing performance issues!
Good to see you found the problem already

Quadrant doesn't tell the whole story, but I'm running darkys 7.8 and I've got a Quadrant score of 1480+. I was a Cognition junkie until I flashed darkys - I couldn't be more pleased.

All the 2.2.1-based ROMs are pretty much equally fast.. mostly cause theyre all very close to being stock, the only performance-change is from using a recompiled kernel.
Voodoo seems to be a bit faster than speedmod. 1620 here on DocROM with advanced voodoo, no overclock.

Coming over from fascinate forums and just wondering how the benchmarks test change when we actually get some froyo. I know they don't matter but it helps show the overall boost in performance so anybody with linpack or quadrant if u don't care please post ur results. Thanks n advance. Don't flame me, this will give u cappy users a chance to brag

Quadrant scores stay pretty close to the same, mid 900's to low 1000's, linpack clocks in between 13.5 and 15
As has been mentioned in many other threads, Quadrant scores are biased toward Snapdragon processors.
These benchmarks really don't mean anything from one phone to another, but within the same phone model it does give an idea of improvement..

1842 Quadrant Score after OCLF on Froyo which is great compared to 900 before the fix
This is with RyanZA’s EXT2 Lagfix.
Full Quadrant: 1867 (Saw 67 FPS at one point) This is substantially lower than the 2.1 EXT4 Lagfix, but still twice as high as the stock score of 957. I know Quadrant really doesn’t mean anything.
Benchmark PI: 1445 MS
Linpak:
MFLOPS: 13.809
Time: 6.07 Seconds
Norm Res: 5.68
Precision: 2.22044
The "Billabond1 real life use" benchmark shows performance to be as good or better than 2.1. I went from cognition 2.1 w/ voodoo lagfix to cognition 2.2 w/ oclf. I would say that the performance is about the same, good, and the features in 2.2 make it totally worth the update.
On a fresh install of 2.2 I got 995 on my quadrant score.
When I finished rooting and putting on RyanZA's OCLF, my quadrant went up to 2105.
Never did a linpack
Is it normal to get only 905 points from quadrant with darky's9 and speedmod? Before updating from darky's 8 i did get 1245points.

Quadrant is rubbish, people can make themselves get quadrant scores of 3000 + so dont rely on that.. if your phone responds quick and it feels quick in your hand, thats all that matters.

Exactly, I had a 2000+ score with my old JPO+lagfix, now, i'm at ~1000 with my custom ROM, but the phone is so smoother, and it run without lagfix!

I had the same issue after the first 2 times booting up, but it solved itself after 2 more boots and now i am getting 1600 again.

Quadrant scores are totally irrelevant. Insanity ROM has over 2000 but I have found Darky's is the smoothest out of them all IMO
if your phone is fast and responsive why care about quadrant?
it's nice and smooth, no problem i were just worried about if i did something wrong.
Quadrant is rubbish, is not relevant, if you make 2 or 3 tests consecutive there will be different results, so... if you're like how is your phone moving that means you obtain the best results.
I still don't understand why people stick to their quadrant scores. Of course it is fun, but if you can do stuff with your phone and no annoyance like lag or whatsoever. Who cares whether quadrant score is 100 or 200?>
Ok so i flash theses beautiful roms and now ive tried some testing and currently on my captivate i ran the "linpack for andoid" app and it states:
MFLOPS: 13.982
time: 6.0
Norm Res:5.68
Precision: Inaccurate result
ok so i looked at the top 10 section ounder my phone and their MFLOPS is between 20-50 MFLOPS...So do i need some tweaking?..I mean the phone is good , Rom is awesome...any thoughts?
Captivate 1007
Phoenix 5.2 (2.2.1 JS5)
Speedmod i897 500hz k13c
UGJK4
Lagfix enabled
(r) Tweaks enabled
I wouldn't worry about it. First, your test said inaccurate results, so try running it a few times, though you probably won't get much more out of it. Secondly, most people believe these benchmarks are a load of BS, and I would trends to agree. If the ROM feels snappier and works smoother than stock for you, there really isn't any use in the benchmark scores. I'm running Serendipity 5.11 with the same kernel as you, and I find my scores are in the low 14's- which, as is for you, seems slow compared to the online results. However, my phone supposedly blows the other results out of the water in the Quadrant Standard benchmark, regularly achieving scores over 1500, and I imagine yours would perform similarly, so no, I wouldn't worry at all.
Overall, most of the roms on here achieve faster performance along with better battery life compared to a stock cappy. I suggest trying out as many roms as possible to find the one that fits you best, as everybody has different tastes, and each rom behaves differently for everybody.
Personally, I think Serendipity is something you should try, as it looks friggen sweet as is, and even better IMO with some tweaks. I changed the battery indicator to the android dude, the font to Armani, and use launcher pro over the base rom. Altogether, my phone is super slick and snappy. Oh yeah, it also accesses HSPA networks, so downloads are way quicker than stock (pretty sure your current rom does too).

that's about right, repeated tests should get you 14+. it does say inacurate so i dont think you have a problem, just a process running somewhere. the hummingbird lacks a bit in this area and snapdragons excel only in this area. i know it is weird that the nexus one and droid incredible smoke this phone in linpack but it is hardly a thorough benchmark. run quadrant on CM7 when it comes out and see what the hardware is really doing without the samsung influence. despite the low mflops you will see good scores across the board.
Thanks alot for the input everyone...jus curious how gen-pop was adding up... but who cares about the numbers i suppose when my phone is soo [email protected]## cool hahha

Just for the record, I'm on stock Froyo, With no SpeedMod, but with voodoo lagfix and I got better benchmark, linpack and quadrant scores than I did with a custom rom and Speedmod kernel before. Add to that the stability of a native ROM and kernel, and I think you know what I am saying here...

JVP based rom - Darky's JVP 10.1 - 2.3.4
Kernel is DarkCore 2.7.3
Tibzed's RAM Hack
Tegrak OVERCLOCKED to 1.3 MHZ
Lagfix (ENABLED) ext 4
Why can I never get over 1000 in Quadrant ?
I know quadrant scores mean nothing -- but seriously I am getting 800-900 consistently and I'm not sure why
Mind you I DO have TONS of apps on my phone (like 200) --- is this an issue ?
Can anyone tell me why people on Froyo are getting higher Quadrants than me ? I even have mine over clocked and I rarely get over 900.
Don't know about the score, but it could be because you are mixing and not matching kernels to ROM-versions? Because as far as I know, Darky v.10.1 is NOT JVP, it's JVH. But DarkCore 2.7.3 is a JVP kernel...

I am on F1 S2 V4 and galaxian kernel. Other users are reporting having 2700+ quadrant score. But I have tested numerous of times, reflash kernel (one using kernel flasher another with odin), both yield 16xx-18xx...
I wonder what's wrong T.T
I'm not sure how did you get so high score with 1.3 MHZ (0.0013 ghz). And for the low score problem uninstall quadrant and forget it. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with quadrant.

I must say my phone has never run as fast or smooth or as good as it is now. I have never had such a good battery either. I took a bath and put my phone on speaker/music for 35 mins -- it went from 90% to 89%
It's never ran so fast, but my quardrant score has never been so low.
So strange.

Since installing the RAM hack not only has my battery life been amazing and phone faster, but my launcher doesn't close as it used to do every 10 secs. Would a RAM hack so small and simple REALLY knock off 2000 on a Quadrant score ? I doubt it.

y u care so much about quadrant come on dude
finally gone from stock rom to gingerdx 014 YAY!
Ran a quadrant advanced benchmark and noticed I dont get anything displayed when it goes through the first two 3D benchmarks aside from the FPS and frame numbers at the bottom. (the corridor one with stairs and I forget what the 2nd one is).. Then I get the DNA strand 3rd bench test which shows up fine and it displays a result of 1124 ???
Is it missing out the display of these for a reason?! Hopefully not to artificially bump up the quadrant score?!? surely not?
Anyone else noticed this?? Or is my gingerdx install a bit fubar?!
Installed from stock 2.1 using CWM after doing a full wipe and dalvik wipe..
Black screen in 3d tests except DNA is normal on all Gingerbread roms(like GDX).
But that bug does not affect on scores.
Don't worry.
PS:
I'm not sure but, The newest version of quadrant from the market can work normal without bug.
Scores will be the same.
Thanks for that.. I was only joking about the scores.. I will download the latest version and try that. I thought I may have done something wrong and wondered why mine wasnt displaying the tests
