Try my gingerbread theme, it should work for you, download the gingerbread3.5.zip
Make sure your phone is rooted, you have metamorph, busbox downloaded and installed and that usb debugging is turned on

I caved, rooted and flashed rodriguezstyle froyo rom and overclocked to 1.1gig . i like it but im looking for some other things that would be compatible with the rom. if you guys could steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
1. Desire Notification bar
2. trackball wake device
3, 720p video recording
Rotating home screens + launcher like froyo = ADW Launcher/Launcher Pro
Black Status bar = requires root
Media player = nemo
Trackball wake = requires root
With all that said, you should just root your phone. HTC honors rooted phones if its the hardware thats faulty.
It's pretty hard to mess up your phone software wise, which is the only thing that voids your warranty (software screw up).
awesome!!! thank you. i like this phone more and more, really like the launcher, any idea how i can use the trackball to activate the unlock screen instead of having to press the power button?
found nemo here, its really great, better looking than the ipod app on the iphone and does photos as well.

Requires Root
Lol rooting seems to be the thing you need the most here..
ive actually found apps like LOCKBOT from the marketplace that let me use the trackball to bring up the unlock screen but there seems to be a delay and it makes me use theyre themes.
honestly i think ive get everything covered i can live without the black status bar for now but i might get bored somewhere down the road and just root for the hell of it
FlyScreen also has wake on trackball, although I honestly wish I could disable it, I think my case probably wakes the phone and it doesn't go off until the set delay time, which I have set to 2 minutes.
ScreenModeWidget does it too, I set it to 'awake stay' and it wakes the phone with the trackball and bypasses the lock screen

No Lock from the marketplace, can be used as an app or widget, no root required.
Disables the lockscreen and lets you use the trackball to turn on Nexus One.
As for your launcher, it's ADW.LAUNCHER that looks like 2.2

bump, little help here
hellooo.. anyone got an ideas.... i tried a rom the other day and it came with sexy as fook touchflo keypad onscreen keyboard i didnt like the ROM but LOVED the iphone style keypad is there any way i can add it to my phone and where can i get it???????
Any thought???
Got a screenshot?
Finger Keyboard..
PocketCM Keyboard..
Hellaw stylez! thanks for the fast reply i havent got a screen shot BUT its the same one that shifu used in his V20 theres a screenshot on his link to his latest rom
That's cool It's EzInput 2.0 now there was a prob with the one in shifu's regards the h\w keyboard, af974 has a version that doesn't effect h\w keyboard just checked his share and not in it so bung a PM
That keyboard is sexy as hell, I too found it on a cooked ROM but didnt like the rest so decided to start on TF2D and expand with addons myself. I tried to install the keyboard twice but it caused my phone to hang on the start screen.
If this happens to you then hold down the camera key and use the stylus to press the soft reset button on the bottom of the phone, then connect to USB and flash back to your rom (even though your PC won't pick up the device, and you're doing exactly what the ROM installer tells you not to do! (that is installing without the device being connected on ActiveSync))
If it still hangs on the screen, hold down the two - - keys (to the left/right of answer/hangup) and press the soft reset button to "reset your device to factory settings". It should now boot in.
Anyway, just thought I would write that here encase someone else gets stuck for hours not knowing what to do when this happens....
Did you get the keyboard working? I'm using the -G- 10 Lite ROM and as the EzInput thread says, you need some package (or something/other) from the Leo if I'm correct? I suppose this ROM doesn't have it... and I'm not too sure if you can patch it on top of this ROM or where exactly I would find that?
Thanks guys! Would love to know
Hi All,
Is it possible to get the "screen-off" animation from Gingerbread on a Galaxy S?
(A Mod or something?)

I think he is talking about the Tv-screen animation from Gingerbread(tv turning on and turning off) which as I know it's not possible to add to a theme for 2.2

It's there. I have flashed this theme and it has it.
i just want that screen off animation only..
Everyone is looking for this. Anyone kno which files we need?
Cheers.
Serendipity VII for the Captivate comes with both the CRT screen turn off and the BLN functions.
I've found the links on xda for the BLN (in case I want to try MIUI or something since I fried the soft keys and am now using the Soft Keys app until I replace the phone), but I haven't found the CRT screen turn off download link yet. For now, this will do.
If you are willing to use Serendipity VII to get the CRT turn off function, then: ...darn. Still a new user. Just google Serendipity VII.
First, thank you for the great information provided, and a GREAT thanks to the developers for not abandoning the captivate (like Samsung did). I could only imagine if you guys could build your own device with the tools they have...!
Anyway, I just flashed my first rom, Andromeda 1.0, and am noticing that when I unlock the screen, the first touch isn't recognized. I have to press somewhere on the screen, and then the second touch is recognized. It affects the bottom dock buttons as well, and it doesn't seem to matter how much time has elapsed. I can unlock the phone and press in 2 seconds, or 30 seconds, and it won't recognize the first touch, only the second.
I have launcher pro (paid) installed, but noticed it also affects the default touchwiz launcher as well. The only other thing I've changed was switching to the JL2 modem. I checked, and I can't clear cache for either touchwiz or launcher pro (if that would make a difference).
Just curious if anyone else has been affected by this, as it seems to be the ONLY problem I've had with this rom. Wifi works great, gps (as well as it can, lol) and everything else I've put it through. It's been very stable. I really like this rom, beside this one issue.
Any ideas? Re-flash?
Do you have fancy widget installed?
I found with fancy widget installed if you enable the live weather wallpaper that you have to touch the screen to unlock it (even after screen lock), and then you can touch your icons.
try this instead

Thanks guys.
I do have fancy widgets installed, and it looks like the live weather was causing the hold up.
Now on to 1.1

Thanks

Well, i use swype from the original 2.2.2 FroYo stock ROM from Dell Streak, the first keyboard i ever used on Android and i still like it better than others, i install them in the normal way, go to settings, activate them, and after that, when you are in some writing, check the notifications, it should be a notification for keyboard, tap that notification and it will show you a menu to select your desired keyboard
Thanks man. I never did notice that notification. Also i was satisfied with my stock buttons . I wanted to try the new nexus 4 keyboard.
