Hello all. Been looking for screen capture/shot app that works with my HTC Desire Z without rooting. But no luck, do you guyz know any app I could use? Thank u.

I believe you need root access. I could be wrong. 90% sure
or use DDMS that comes with the Android SDK. I use this 99% of the time.
The SDK has a built in screen capture feature in DDMS.
MyPhoneExplorer can take screenshots even without root. You just need to install their app on your phone and your computer and hook them up with an usb
(They probably use features of the SDK of Android but has put it in a userfriendly ui.)

How to get htcsense.com working on your device.
First, sign up to htcsense.com. Use Desire HD as your device. Go through the process until it says sign in with your phone. I had to do this via a PC.
Flash this package:
http://www.mediafire.com/?v6738zc4owqptt8
Go to settings, accounts and sync and choose to add an account. Choose htc sense.
Log in with correct credentials and info.
Thats it!
Things that work:
Text forwarding
GPS location
Remote ring
Remote lock
Things that do not yet work:
Remote wipe
forward calls

Well done, thanks!
What does the package do in order to make it work. And why do we have to do this, I thought this was a feature that should be working without jumping through hoops.

Easily answered:
Unzip the package.
As for the feature, give it a shot. You will find it missing.
This is my first HTC Android device - what is htcsense.com? Also, do I use cwm to flash this to the phone?
Edit: NM - got it installed and working - thanks OP!
Thanks alot man. Been looking forward to this. Seems it should have been released with it working out of the box....sad that you even HAD to fix it...
Wow! Only locations app/widget to be resolved now to get full functionality.
didn't see in your does and does not work list, but does this work for HTC Hub for wallpapers, scenes and themes? I clicked "Get More" and it just sits and a screen with a spinner.
Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with this. Downloaded and flashed it a more than once. The app shows up under system/app checked via root explorer, but its not in my app list and when I try to click on the MyHTC.apk, it says installation not complete. Any suggestions?

Same here
I get no Hub icon widget, but when i go to add more skins etc. I get the 'get more' option which then connects me to htc hub to download. Sad thing that it just sits on loading and nothing ever appears
That was an inadvertent feature/side effect.
Scenes and skins are no bueno, but sound packs , ringtones, notifications, and widgets work.
Will the features be added

This isn't the Desire Z.
Follow the directions or it will not work.
Also, unlike the Desire Z, which has separate apps for each hub function, ours are integrated.
Got it working and I'm signed in. It was just throwing me off that there was no app in the app drawer. Thanks for letting ne know not to look for it.

Ok, had to flash it a couple of times before it would show up in accounts. Good to go now, thanks!
if you have a mac and need to sync
just use double twist
doubletwist.com
works great
Was browsing the Evo 4G boards and ran across an .apk for the Netflix app on that just released recently. You cant install from the marketplace link, because this app wasnt "technically made for the HD2". But the program works and runs great for me when installing from the .apk listed on that forum.
I'm running Android: Ladyboo MIUI by the way. Test it out. thanks

IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE INSTALLING ON YOUR DEVICE, TRY THE STEPS AT THE LINK: NETFLIX FIX
Awesome TY....
Testing...
Installs properly
Loads properly
Will not stream. Opens up stream and then forces back to the main screen
Does not FC
I saw on the market feed back section that someone with a HD2 has it and is running fine. But I have a HD2 and I am not able to download it now is it on the list. How do you think he was able to get it?

I think it may have to do with whatever core build you are using. The NexusHD2 build for example will more than likely get it but Typhoon CM7 does not. But I was able to install locally and it works now for me.
Will this work for a HD2 Desire Z Nand Zip Rom?

Yes sir, installed and started up just fine.
Nice, I will load it when I get to my pc. Unless theres a way to do it to the root file from my phone.
Yeah just come here with your phone browser (or the XDA app) and download right to your phone, any file manager will install it once you have it on your sdcard
It has surprisingly good quality over tmobiles network too

Anyone have any idea what could cause this and possibly how to fix? I just tried reinstalling and power cycling the phone. I also tried to disable mobile network and use WiFi. No luck. When it starts to play the video I see the pause button and the time bar then they disappear and it goes back to the netflix home screen.

How do I install that package? Would I go to the bootloader menu and open the zip file from there and then launch my rom?
HTC HD2, MIUI stock build. Works *just* fine! Thanks a LOT!
I've yet to find an app that can do it without root.
I tried using ddms.bat from the sdk to get screencaps but it doesn't recognize my phone as a device (I've turned on USB debugging and pc mode). It worked fine with my Droid1 but no luck with the Droid 3.
Any ideas how we can take screenshots?
Also trying to figure this out. There is a no root screenshot it in the market but I have not tried to set it up

DDMS.bat from the SDK works fine, sounds like you are missing device drivers for the Droid 3.
I use it whenever I want to take a screen shot off my Droid 3.
If I remember correctly I had to download the drivers from Motorola's site
Don't forget the we live with outher ways of taking a screen shot. And that's using a digital camera. Yes it wont look the greatest but it will work.

Thanks. I got it to work after downloading the MotoHelper here:
(forum wouldn't let me post the real link, sorry. Google "Download Motorola 5.2.0 Driver with MotoHelper")
There doesn't seem to be a way to download and install individual drivers for specific phones so you have to install that program which stays running in the background on your computer all the time.
You can remove apps from start up in all operating systems, type msconfig in the run or search dialog box for windows.
-smc
No root screenshot is the only app I know of that works on my d3. Tested and can verify that it works

all apps and launchers seem to crash. Guess it's time to learn how to use logcat... Probably something to do with how wear interacts with android apps
Cool, I can't wait till someone maybe gets a rom on this thing like the g watch just did today in hopes it can improve battery life and performance also ifixit found I wifi chip in the gear live, think of the possibilities if someone got that to work ?

I have side loaded root explorer and system panel and both work pretty good. Need root access to really do anything with root explorer. Going to try other apps later tonight.
