Hey I need to get my phone back to a stock 2.1 I'm currently on 2.2.1 Doc Rom. I'm about to return my phone for overheating issues and I don't want to send it in with a custom rom in case they try to blame the over heating issues on that.
So does anyone know what the first rom that the i9000 was released with that I can flash back to and links to all the files in Odin that I need?

Hi im on samsung Galaxy S vibrant from Bell.
Im sitll running 2.1 as no update has come through Kies for me for 2.2
I am using Kies 2.##.
My current firmware version is: PDA:JM2 / PHONE:JM1 / CSC:JM1 (BMC)
If you are impatient you could download JL2 (latest official Bell upgrade) and flash with Odin.
Otherwise...make sure you have latest version of Kies, etc...never used Kies myself so I can't help you troubleshoot that a whole lot
or bite the bullet and root the phone, use some custom ROMs
It's a little scary at first, but well documented and safe/stable nowadays
Lots of good options like Darky's, Ultimate etc. I've recently been playing with Doc&Stef's RomKitchen which is stable and well documented

Could be that you are not using a Bell ROM. JM1/2 is a European ROM. The Bell 2.1 roms were jg2 and jh2. When you boot the device does it flash a screen with "GT-I9000M "?

Do exactly what this guide says VVV . Nothing else. (best to return to stock JF6 with ODIN as well) with this http://www.mediafire.com/?0w2y31maz8mdom4
http://serendipity7.weebly.com/download.html
Another way could have been through odin.
What rom are you on?

You flashed a custom Rom without knowing how to get back to stock? Not the best idea. Please do your homework on what your doing before you do it. A search will help you get the info you need.

I bought it from ebay (second hand)...It is pre installed with custom rom (gingerbread rom - dark core 2.3) & mobile showing a generic IMEI instead of its original IMEI. I want to return back to Stock JF6 for restoring my IMEI..
Are you on Serendipity yet?

You need the One-Click Odin Flash to stock here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
Can someone please help, i was trying to flash cwm on stock froyo att tab and encoutered an issue, after 48 minutes stuck in Odin i decided to unplug the tab, after this when i started i get the phone..triangle..pc all the links i have found in the forums are old, cant find the 2.2 firmware any link i find has either got the 2.3 firmware or is died This is my baby and i have been dying to get ICS on it and am dying without my galaxy tab
a little bit confuse with your description. try froyo, but dying hard for ics?? and by the way,i have also experienced the same phone-triangle-pc after having trouble to flash jq1 stock rom. after i got the phone-triangle-pc logo,i try with cf root kernel (jq1) and successful. but you said you don't want gingerbread. so.. :-|
i wasnt at the point of flashing a rom yet, i need the kernel for froyo because att never went to 2.3, so i need the stock firmware but cant find an alive download. I was only at the point of using Odin to ad CWM to be able to flash a new kernel or rom
My opinion, still best to head to Overcome thread in dev section.
Gean their Stock Safe rom to restock, and grab their kernel and flash that too, via Odin.
From there you get CWM and your filesystem gets converted to ext4 and you are ready to go for ICS.
