METHOD A

backup
wipedata factory rest and flash the zip card. IS THIS METHOD CORRECT ?
or

As you have rooted, install ROM Manager from the Market, use that to install ClockworkMod recovery and then use it to backup what you have. Finally you can use it to flash the ROM you want as a zip from the SD card, and if memory serves, it'll ask you to wipe as well.

now after smartflash done you can
1. setting your phone like language, location, dll
2. restore your backup(if you use titanium backup) if not then you must do install again your
apps or at least you already save your apk using appsaver
there is the tutorial how to flash using smartflash
I suspect your initial problem was that you didn't wipe the phone before installing the MoDaCo ROM.
Before I install a new rom or restore a backup - I always make an (I call it) extended Fullwipe. So I can be sure that the system is fully clean.
Here is the way how to do it:
Go to CWM recovery and run the following steps
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
->advanced
wipe Dalvik Cache
wipe Battery Stats
<- Go Back
->mounts and storage
format /cache
format /data
format /system
<- GoBack
After that you can choose "Install zip from sd" or "Backup/Restore"

Ohh...that's a pitty!
Which stock rom package do you want to install and which version of CWM do you use?
Have you tried to install the stockrom with the smartflash-tool?

[Q] How can I flash a custom rom AFTER wiping /data ?[solved]

I know the title makes myself look like an idiot.
But I'm using CWM 6.0.2.8 and want to know if I can flash a rom that is in INTERNAL storage AFTER I wipe data/factory reset. I saw this thread, someone wipe data/factory reset and the rom in internal storage(virtual SD, I believe that's what he meant) was gone and the device was in a boot loop. He could neither reset his device nor use RUU to get the stock rom back. Eventually he mount a flash disk via OTG to flash the rom to his device.
I don't have OTG cable and want to know if i can still flash custom rom to my HTC One ? If i can , which Recovery should I use, CWM or TWRP?
Or should I just wipe the device in AROMA?
Thanks guys. Problem solved.

I believe it's all based on where you put the rom on internal storage. If you put it in the root directory you should be fine, but if it's for instance in the Android downloads folder it'll be erased. You could also go in to Settings>Storage and see how your data is partitioned, if there's a partition that doesn't have system files on it, put it there and you'll be fine. Also, I prefer CWM touch. It's always been a breeze to use and rarely fails :good:
Factory reset shouldn't touch the internal storage. I do believe the Android folder is reset though yeah. Just put it in Downloads? You could always make a nandroid too, that's stored somewhere else.

How to downgrade from CM 10.1 to 2.3.6?

What should I do to downgrade from CM 10.1 to 2.3.6? Because last time I bricked my phone... How to downgrade?
I'm assuming you haven't made a backup while you were on stock , find a firmware from your country/carrier on samfirmware and flash it via odin on PDA collumn.
Be careful about the version of firmware you get from samfirmware, make sure it fits your phone ( if you have 6500d(without nfc) be sure to get a 6500d firmware and vice versa for 6500)
And one more thing, do not interrupt the flashing process , might brick your phone..
Good luck !
Edit: From what I see on your profile you are from Bulgaria and have M-tel as a carrier, i think this is the firmware you are looking for
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/182233319/b311220/S6500DXXLD2_S6500DMTLLD2_MTL.zip.html
dont forget to wipe all (data, system, cache, dalvik) before flashing to stock to avoid bootloop or else after flash stock, flash CWM and do the wipe

Hey all, i'm upping this thread cause i need some more information.
I'm going back to Stock ROM too, i understood almost all the process, but i'm quite noob with those things so i got 3 questions:
1. How to do a full backup (in case i want to go back to CM 10.1 with all the installed apps on).
2. How to completely clear my phone, i don't want to leave any app/setting/trace on the SD, i want it back as when i bought it.
3. How to be sure of my firmware version? If i look to the "Informations" in "Settings" it says : S6500XXLK2, so i suppose is GT-S6500 without any letter, right?
Thx for any help!

I am really new, but the following has worked for me 3 or 4 times:
Assume you are running the stock ROM that was installed at the factory.
Install a late version of CWM. I have cwm-6.0.3.3-b2-jena.tar.md5.
Install Online Nandroid Backup and do a full Nandroid backup with this tool to the external SD card.
Save this to a hard drive just in case.
Do a full backup of your internal SD and your external SD. Nandroid backup does not
do these.
Then do the whole install procedure for CM 10.1 or whatever.
To go back to 2.3.6, reboot into CM recovery. Do all the wipes: data/factory,cache,dalvik.
Choose restore. Choose restore from sd. This will be external SD. Choose the folder
where the nandroid backup was made. Then wait till done, then reboot. None of this touches
the sd cards, which kind of bothers me. But in practice, people seem not to worry too much.
One thing you could do is format your SD cards and then restore hand-made backups of
your SD cards. I did not bother with this yet. But I never ran CM 10.1 for very long or touched
the SD card very much. Anyway, when I restore my stock ROM this way, I seem to go back
exactly to the state I was in before installing CM 10.1.

Yep, i forgot to say one thing that is in common with the OP: I haven't got a "Stock ROM backup"...i just installed CM 10.1 without making a backup...i know, my fault!
The procedure for backing up CM 10.1 is the same as for backing up factory ROM.
Use Online Nandroid backup. I went from factory ROM to CM 10.1 by restoring a
backup from Online Nandroid.

flashing a new system not have repercursions to content of internal sdcard or external sdcard.
you lose app installed and configurations of device and apps.
for flashing via CWM you have more choises:
- install zip from internal or external sdcard
- apply sd-card update.zip if you have one on sd-card. in that case you not lose nothing.

Yes, but you did not state what ROM you were using.
If you were using CM or another custom ROM you can use the 'adb sideload'-functionality to reinstall it. This requires setting up adb on your computer, for instance using the files for rooting the v20a LG installation and installing the correct drivers. The phone should then boot normally with (nearly) all your data intact.
If you were using an LG ROM (which I doubt since you already installed CWM) you need to use one of the flash methods listed in this subforum to reflash your ROM. If you install the exact same ROM it should boot fine with (nearly) all your data intact.
If the phone still won't boot using one of these methods, clear the caches first and reboot.
Thanks for the answers!
However I reflashed all again (wipe data/cache -> Install zip From SD Card)

what image you used to reflash stock?
I didn't reflashed the stock ROM, but Zaiben v3

I think I bricked my phone.

So I booted to recovery, did a clean wipe of everything, installed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...0-1-5-77-debloated-deodexed-zipalign-t3015281
Then I guess I realize that it isn't a full rom, it is meant to be flashed over another one.
So now phone does not boot and I can't even get to recovery.
Any hope or tricks?
