A market update has been made available on another forum.
Apparently it fixes some security issues. They say most roms won't support the apk but a zip file should also be available which should work if installed in recovery.

Any dev tested it yet?

ERROR: Application requires API version 8. Device API version is 7 (Android 2.1-update1) looks like you will have to test drive the new froyo for aria if you want to test this unless there is a way to update api on the android, and i doubt it.

Is it? I just searched for Blockbuster, didn't find it.
It was published to the Android Market by Blockbuster on accident, apparently it has to be optimized for each device so they pulled it. I installed it but I haven't tried it at all.

If you're like me and really don't care for the new market I thought I'd share this tip.open terminal emulator and type
Su
pm disable com.android.vending. updater
and NO more market updating itself .If you already got the update go to applications-manage-all-market-uninstall updates and boom back to the old.
Is there anything to be afraid in the new Market? I'm going to flash newer MIUI build tomorrow and I'm not sure if it doesn't already have the new Market...

MIUI has the newest Market on it. The only drawback I find is that it is a bit harder to get to your downloaded apps and that it lags a bit, because it isn't optimized for the Milestone.
I've updated Google Apps in the Recovery! But now MarketEnabler doesn't work! How I can downgrade to the old (fashion ) market?

Go to Settings > Applications > All and choose Market and select Uninstall Updates. Reboot and you should be back in the old market. OP posted it if you already received the update.
I have read (and experienced) the failure of location issues with pa_gapps-modular-mini-4.4.2-20140524. Do we have any solutions to the issues? I am hoping someone has a solution which I have missed.

I'm currently on Milaq's latest and have also had problems, here is what I've done :
Installed PA micro Gapps so that map's isn't a system app. Then disabled automatic update in Google play and installed this version of maps https://app.box.com/s/xepi3tqyu06bc01l8q6y which works after that I manually updated on play which has worked. If it doesn't just uninstall the latest version and revert back to the one you dl from the box link.
I hope this helps.
Works, kind of.
Thank you, the apk you linked to works.
Unfortunately, manual update breaks it again. I can restore to the downloaded apk, no problem.
I still have problems with location(even with the linked apk) for other applications(weather, etc.) not getting location.
I am guessing this has something to do with 4.4.2 builds and their interaction with Google.

Sorry that didn't work for , you could make a backup of your current install and then see if Milaq's latest works for you as jcsullins rom I believe is based on Milaq's. That's what I ended up doing and am really pleased with it.
All the best and good luck.
Hello! I got my Mi3 a few days ago and I'm having some issues. Some apps that I really need won't be installed because of compatibility issues. For that reason I wanted to root or at least update the phone, via the miui site.
However, my phone seem to be lacking some crucial elements. Such as the app called Update. I've been watching some videos on how to update the Mi3, and they use an app in the system folder called Update. And it doesn't exist on my phone. And when I enter the "about phone" in Settings and press the update button at the bottom, it just crashes to the homescreen.
I've tried the way of downloading the update file, developer rom, from the miui site, renaming it "update.zip" and putting it in the root directory, remove cache and booting from the update file. But it says the update file doesn't exist, even though I've put it where it's supposed to be.
Any suggestions? This is really bugging me.
Android version 4.3 JLS36C
MIUI version MIUI-JXDCNBD14.0
Thanks
Is it genuine or fake as it sounds like it could be a fake. Or maybe your just doing sonething wrong
How do I know if it's fake? Seems real.

Downloaded CPU-Z. It does have the Snapdragon 801, Qualcomm MSM 8974. 2,27 GHz. The specs are as they should, many languages available. Market works fine. The performance is really good and smooth. It's just that it's missing update app and the tutorials for updating it won't work for me. (Watched a video showing a fake Mi3, it had the wrong cpu, fewer languages, Market didn't work, and so on)
Edit: Downloaded the Xiaomi app "anti-fake", and it confirmed that I have a genuine version, although the IMEI and Serial Number didn't exist in their sales records. Bought the phone from aliexpress, that might be why.
Everything works as it should, except for the update thingy.

Yeah I tried method 1 and 2 and they wouldn't work. I might try the third option someday, but some comments mentioned issues so I'm a bit cautios with that one yet.
just download a stable recovery rom and flash it using Miflash.exe
Obviously make sure its the correct ROM for your phone.
i've used method 3 a few times now and it does work but it isn't the easiest method to understand. the pictures do help though.
Xiaomi's hardware is so delicate that there are cases of phone's display breaking inside jeans. Should i need to say about phone anymore? To avoid such instance Use Custom ROM enabled phone with Cyanogen.
I am running latest Arrow OS Official 11.0 build but Im not able to find the google play systems update option in settings -> security. I dont think its rom issue because I was using Evolution X before and I had same issue. How can I fix this? I dont even know the update version installed. Screenshot attached.
does not matter google play system updates is for old devices that dont get updates
